    Emden. Maybe a StinkySushi if you really want a premium battleship. As to the discussion which of the two German BB's would be the most beginners friendly: neither. Badly played Torpoid is liability to team, you need some experience to see difference between yolo suicide, kemp bush and snipe with German BB and spotter plane ( pretty common occurrence... sadly ) and actually playing in a useful way for the team. Plus you will face a lot of higher tier battleships and thus you need experience in map positioning and situational awareness or the experience will not be positive at all. Shinyhorse has way better MM being tier 7, and retains the general tank ability of all German BB's, but due to gun configuration you need experience to know which ammo to use at which targets at what time ( and that on top on 'normal' bb gameplay -> positioning / map control / target priority and so on ). Get a low tier premium, heck I'd even say wait for October Revolution which will be a tier 5 Russian battleship which seems pretty newbie friendly ( though tier 5 MM is kinda... meh... it's been better lately though but when it's bad it's really bad ).

    If BB is 14km and ur in your smoke you will spot the BB if he fires since there is LOS with smoke and it doesn't matter where in that line of sight the smoke resides. If you're behind the smoke and he fires within 14km from you you will spot him, same as if he would be in smoke and you would not be in smoke or behind smoke.

    Take a wild guess. Concealment should always favor the smaller gunned/ lower survivability ship, not the bigger gunned more armored one. I know, it's quite rare except for those of us which tend to last till the end of matches regularly, that concealment really starts to play a role. Being end of game, ships on low hp, being able to get the first salvo off is an immense advantage. Here, having battleships as better concealment as cruisers makes cruiser play extremely passive. And not like now with BB's, like you say, IJN OP omg CV OP omg, no actually the reason for playing passive would be valid, as I can not engage a 419mm armed battleship if that ship spots me before I spot him. I need to rely on angling and kiting, he has his bigger healt pool, better heal, better HE ( you do know Monqueror has higher fire's per minute as Zao? ) and he has actual armor ( certainly in relation to my cruiser guns ). That is why this pisses me off, it goes against a fundamental gameplay element which imo should be considered LAW not optional. I'm playing them on PT, I know I can do more if I shoot more AP at those broadsiding Mino's whole game, but I'm averaging around 200k dmg with just HE on that ship. And that's with an actually very cruiser heavy PT iteration as most people seem to want to play / test Mino with new smoke changes. It's not about how mixing ammo is better. I know that. You know that. Anyone who isn't a potato will know that. It's about how HE only suddenly is beyond just 'viable'. HE is a tool against angling, against higher armored targets. BB HE should be highly situational, against higher tiered angled battleships which you can never overmatch, things like that. Not: I didn't ever press '2' key five games in with Conq and I have 200k average damage. And I'm not even a good battleship player, normally that is, certainly not on tier 10. But I don't play it as a BB, I play it as I would my Zao. Sneak up, then burn the heck out of anything, stealth back up / go into concealment if I need to heal up or when I have burned DCP. It's fast enough, it's certainly stealthy enough, and it has an amazing heal. It's the complete anti cruiser battleship, been released at a moment where BB population is a serious issue ( though I think tier X been pretty ok up till RN BB, not sure about now haven't played enough on live ). That is why you see people react pretty strongly.

    That is why we watch live streams as well, where they can't actually cherry pick their games. Want me to rub you with some streamers stats for the RN BB line? Using only HE ( KNOWING full well he would get even better results if he used ammo optimally )? Just because he wants to show of how 'balanced' these ships are, and how he thinks WG has lost a few marbles releasing them as is? Maybe? Would be fun right, you can watch his old hour long VOD's as well, see if you can find a few bad games and then try to claim the ships are fine because look he sucked in that game?

    That is a blatant lie. RN BB HE has 1/4 pen, and tell me which other low tier BB's have comparable fire chance and alpha? Germans have the same 1/4 pen rule for a reason, their HE sucks in comparison. Also 'that youtuber' wasn't the only guy saying it, maybe when all CC's say the same thing it's actually true? Guess what, most said RN BB's are broken. But hey, you know better as everyone

    You don't know me, stop making assumptions about me. This isn't about battleships 'camping because they are spotted to soon', that's just utter [edited]. Normally it's: but torps OP cry cry, and then you get a 12v12 BB game on Tears of the Desert Epicenter and NO ONE MOVES, they all go to their known islands. Stop pretending battleships will play more aggressive due to having better concealment. And even if they would, it would NOT be what we should want since it comes at the expense of another class.......... CRUISERS. Do you think my Hindenburg is going to play aggressive if there is a Monqueror roaming somewhere and I have no DD to screen for it, or do you think I will play even more passive? And do you think cruisers SHOULD be forced to play more passive because babies have a better concealment as they do? It's fine for a battleship to not be spotted from the moon, that's Yamato's trait ( and even that can go down a lot but it fits with 'biggest guns - worst concealment' on which this game is actually designed from the start. Now we have 419mm battleships with better concealment as 203mm armed cruisers. If you think that's fine, I guess we're done talking ( if you could consider this a 'talk' as all you been doing is giving your unfounded opinion and insult those who don't agree with you ). Flint.. meh. Black is an abomination which should have been killed before being born, just as Missouri. If you think DD or BB with radar is 'fine', same applies as with concealment, no reason to keep 'talking'.
  7. I agree, in the scenario you describe it would make more sense to not communicate and just ride out the storm. Unless their caught red handed and there is a lot of rioting going on. Don't see rioting, guess clan players are more likely to be patient as we're familiar with WG already And frankly, the clan stuff we had was just so very basic, having to miss it for some time in preparation of a major update to it doesn't really vex me. edit: I can imagine Gene and Loran being vexed to hell though, their the one's which paid money to have the limited clann stuff available to them. I am only a member which asked to be invited

    So it's a hidden VMF DD buff and USN DD nerf I mean, I can see use of smoke firing for USN ( and maybe Grozovoi line ) but for Trashcan/Kebab I think most people run heal atm ( not 100% sure, might be cognitive bias ).

    Yes, act like that, makes you look really mature Jesus, are you... no I can't actually say that here. It's the most obvious example, that is why you see it everywhere 1. I run concealment build on everything, including my battleships. Concealment is a major tactical asset. Cruisers NEED this asset, babies don't, not in current meta anyway. 2. Yeah, you can get your concealment down to cruiser levels.... but the cruisers can get them down even further. There are only a few USN BB's which always were capable of having concealment builds which competed with cruisers, no IJN no GE BB, just 3 USN BB's ( NCal, Iowa and Monty ). And when that was being implemented I said the same thing ( see 1 ). And that is why you think it's fine to have baby boats with more concealment as cruisers, because there are many situations in which it's not that relevant? Sounds like saying: hey give Musashi as tier 6 reward ship but limit it to top 200 players of server. It would be broken yes, but meeting one would be really rare so it's ok! For 20 seconds. Shooting 400mm+ guns or firing 100mm gun's, it's all 20 seconds. Great balance dah!

    It's also a support issue, mods might cause unforeseen bugs, and could/can impact performance. So WG will never ship the vanilla client with all mods as option you can select from in settings. it would not make sense. A lot of the crosshairs we have in game are actually crosshairs which first were offered as mods. Getting mod installer / backup / repair / reinstall through the game launcher is the most I'm hoping for.

    Opinions differ I am afraid. Tier 4 having 40% fire chance and higher HE alpha as a Monty is just flamuWG And in general, battleships with better as cruiser concealment is... well flamuM would apply. The heal is gimicky but especially useful against cruisers which is again flamuM. WG's balance department has been taking to much of the bad stuff I fear, and it's messed them up pretty badly.

    There are two ships in Kamikaze R's battletier which have radar, Belfast and Indianapolis. So yeah.... Irrelevant. And Khaba doesn't sit in smoke, unless it's a baddie. So again, totally irrelevant to the topic.

    Interesting take, but being 'known' to be spotting someone is still more skill based as you need some map knowledge ( los lines ) and situational awareness / last spotted ships + where they could be later on before you'd even be able to use that information. It's not like WG wants to reward flanking spots anyway, else they wouldn't have introduced WallHack™ Doesn't seem very consistent. edit: teams on PTS are btw... well not the DD's but you know, those other players. So far I haven't noticed bad effects from the smoke changes, in fact it seems gameplay is more 'fluid'. Then again it's PTS and generally played by 5 year old barely potty trained mouth breathing monkeys it seems, so judging impact on gameplay on PTS is impossible. But the new mechanics seem to facilitate more dynamic gameplay. I still got smoked up by DD's in my RN BB's ( hey it's PTS right :P ) but I can't use it offensively, just as intended. And, when an enemy Moskva got smoked up by his team he made the mistake of shooting so he kept visible and finished off. So again, mechanic wise it seems to be working, not sure on the impact of live server meta.

    I complain about DEVELOPERS vision on BabyBoats and game balance. Not about 'battleships'. I need to test this, I might have to wrong impression from reading only, but removing ability to know where you're spotted from isn't something which was really needed. Well maybe if you're a baddie and you never thought about it anyway, then it doesn't make a difference. Now it just sounds like there will be less certainties leading to more passive play as you might be spotted from your flank but you might be spotted by something just in front of the smokescreen you're behind. edit: As to skill, if you don't have enough solid data, it's not skill, it's guessing. And guessing as basis for a mechanic isn't good.

    Ow ofc, this change is not catering to one class ( just mentioned that for historical accuracy ), but it does remove a benefit from situational awareness. Maybe it also adds some due to the new spotting mechanics, I need some PTS gameplay :)

    The key point is that I SHOULD know if I been flanked or if I'm spotted through smoke. This is another nerf to a skill factor. I have PT installed but didn't play yesterday, will play some games today I might change my mind with some gameplay but mechanic wise this is just not rewarding situational awareness. And while WG CLAIMS they want a little bit more complexity ( read: they want to introduce more OP gimmicks which are broken in most situations but totally OP in one other, and they want YOU to gamble which situations you will encounter ), this perfectly fits in in what we can observe ourselves and this is that the game has been dumbed down more and more and more and more. All to cater to ONE main class.

    Easy game mechanics right, because players aren't able to switch ammo during a game It's total bull, consistent my arse. Yes, because situational awareness doesn't need to be rewarded, game needs to be 'simple' for us potato plant players. So, should this also apply to islands, I can't use los with an island to check position of enemy which is spotting me. This just sounds like a .... well no I can't actually say it but I guess he would really love this idea.

    I been saying the same but then I get jumped by people who say BB's need heavy nerfs to make them less popular. I rather they just limit BB's to 3 or maybe if it really HAS to be so, to 4 and not 5 per side. And make it a higher rule, so it's not overturned just because to many BB player keep in queue for minutes. They say BB's will only be stronger with more cruisers, but I don't agree. The issue is, cruisers can't angle against multiple battleships at once, or they are forced to the outer flanks so they always keep enemy at one side. If you lower battleship number cruisers are much more free to roam a bit and you get more dynamic battles. And no, battleships won't be even stronger, as more cruisers = more HE spam and as we can see from the RN BB HE spam, the more people spam HE the higher the combined effect of forcing DCP and then stacking permanent fires on battleships. Either way, I'd say I think balance would be pretty ok, and if not it's still useless to talk about it now as there is no proof. Limit BB's to lower number, and yes for all I care do the same with DD's ( as long as you're differentiating between gunboat and torpboat, I think Khaba is a cruiser not a DD ). Then gather performance stats for a month or so and then come tell me BB's still need heavy nerfs. The fact that cruisers can work together to kill battleships is a big part of why there was a bit more teamwork in CBT as to now, now it's cruisers dodging 5 battleships aiming for them the moment they are spotted.

    DansGame.... MK needs buff dah? Tier 8 CA's should all get a heal yes, but not because 'some have one' it's ONE, with a clone, but still ONE. Ow, MK does NOT need a heal. It's performing well enough as is, if you buff something on that thing you need to nerf something else. edit: btw you realize MK isn't a CA so wouldn't fall under your proposal anyway? 155mm = CL

  24. Guys stop complaining all the time, it's not like we have a BB population issue atm right! I mean to say, there are likely to be quite excellent things in store for us during special events! Like Graf Zeppelin Or special discounts, bonus xp and maybe just spicy missions. Just don't compare them with the other regions and you're likely to actually feel 'spoiled'.
