ST also has potato's, don't you worry about that. As to KGV on PT she seemed fine. Every time you press battle you play in a team

The USS Atlanta needs a rework + stats comparison for all T7 cruisers
mtm78 replied to dayofmone's topic in General Discussion
Afaik Sims still has the highest internal xp multiplier in the game ( granted don't own Lolanta / Flint but judging from screenshots of battle results I'd say that statement is still current ). Ofc, that's not a cruiser and probably won't be as much fun ;) -
You missed the pun? A hull Mogami? WG's scaling per hull seems to be working as intended considering they always done this with the Mogami ( B hull always had 203mm concealment values even with 155mm mounted ). As to needing more nerfs to 203mm ( aka CA's ) vs CL's, no we don't. As much as it pains me, for top tiers most certainly, we don't even need a buff to 203mm ( Hindenburg seems very happy recently ). Maybe mid tier 203 could use a slight buff in HE stats to be more competitive with IFHE spam from CL's? edit: btw I have PT installed and I got a lot of oil but I have no frigin clue on how to build building
-
But the text was ambiguous then as it did mention is scaled with hull AND caliber iirc. Would also be very stupid if you have same concealment with 203 Mogami as 155mm Mogami ( on a hull ).

Now, I don't really care about your damage, your win rate is impressive but what I find the best indication you know what you're doing with THAT ship is your MBH and survival ratio. The only way you can get a decent hit ratio AND a decent survival ratio AND decent win rate is because you know your maps/have some tactical insight in positioning. Kudo's! Also, you should make topic about importance of positioning using Lolilanta as example and include some replays / screenshots. -
Because he seems the type which might influence WG is they read his stuff and no one points out it's male cow poop

Absolutely not limited to you alone.

WG claims otherwise, and I also never seen this claim being made for WoWs. It's an old WoT dogma, never been official WoWs policy, unless you have that promise in a quote somewhere we can rub in their faces :P -

That is why there is an Atlanta syndrome owners club on the forum, not every premium has to be a good al rounder, and many good players think Atlanta is excellent in specific roles ( and sucks when you get Ocean... ). -

@veslingr Why are you doing this -> ... over an Atlanta when you have -> ... that little battles? How about you learn the game before blaming ships? edit: ewwwww nvm, I'm replying to a reroll account edit2: unless you're trying to trigger people, in which case I guess you succeeded GJ -
At least it sounds pretty funky, and OP didn't contain any whining so I guess it looks like a legit issue. That said ->

You're a very happy exception. Not sure why, 57% with 1089 wtr is a bit of a mismatch and I can't really be arsed to check if you division a lot, as I don't feel the need to throw bricks at you. I wish everyone was like you. Or me. I also bought an Atago the moment it came out, and you know what it was my first tier 8. Well, since the wipe anyway. And yes, many people did at the time and most of us remember the 12v12 Atago games which were frankly a lot more fun as the 12v12 Tirpitz we got later on. And Atago didn't have a heal back then, and I thought it was perfectly fine. And it was, performance wise, for me at least. In line with my level of play at the time for sure. You're just incanting your own limited experience, and try to present it as dogma. My 'dogma' is just statistical truth, your emotional reply in which you take your limited viewpoint as exemplary for the average player is just preposterous.

I been playing on PT with those high tier and they are excellent at tanking.. ofc it's against at max 3 enemy BB's and 6 Minotaurs which don't do much when you angle correctly... Having that heal really DOES make up for the squishiness, just need to time it correctly. Also, I been playing it like I would my Zao, stay in concealment until spotted, holding fire until I'm 11km from enemy and then just devastate them with HE if angled. Then I start angling and kiting slowly away, or fast depending on if they try to close distance as I want to come out of my detection range so I can hold fire and turn if needed. Works wonders, cruiser tactics with battleships ( well except the sneaking up, that's better executed in a ship which isn't easilly deleted in a single broadside salvo ). On the contrary you can play them extremely aggressive, but as I argued before they are colliding with cruisers who should have class monopoly on that trait imo.

That is indeed one of the implications, as I understand it. It's however also more risky for the DD to sit there in his smoke as any enemy DD which comes close enough will spot you in your smoke firing before you spot him ( if ever ) through auto acquisition. On PTS the plays around smoke are actually quite interesting, or I should say: fluid. Now it's PTS and everyone plays loosely there, but in essence this to me sounds like a good proposal with some big flaws. Not sure if those flaws are deal breakers in game, but mechanics wise they just don't seem to make much sense. Unless, WG wants this more fluid gameplay, which I think they do, and in that case that seems to be working on PTS at least. Again, judging PTS gameplay is not easy, having 6 Minotaurs per team with 3 Conquerors and some destroyers isn't really representative as to what we'll see on live. I almost wished we had a WoWs sandbox server where WG could 'test' these things on outside of live server, for those who want to participate and are able to give usable feedback. In the sense that such a sandbox server would probably be higher populated as PTS is almost empty.

Other as the 3rd party link, you also have your WG profile -> https://worldofwarships.eu/en/community/accounts/549081964-RevanOTOE/!/pvp/overview/ As to needing to put in money, there is no shame in slowing down. Don't believe the hype that high tier gameplay is always better as low tier, it's not. If you want to rush high tiers spending some money to help that grind, well that's how it goes. But there are plenty of people who will happily play 100 games in a tier 5 before moving on to tier 6 if they feel like it, and with that attitude you need not spend a dime. You're north of 50 with just so few games, mate you're doing far better as most. Which is evident from your thread, I also asked many questions when I started playing and I got many tips which helped me a lot. But, what helped me most was playing with others. Find Toby in game, or come to the SCRUBS community channel ( info is in the recruitment thread ). I don't play that much lately but if I'm online I'm up for some games. Just hope you can stand some salt, and that you have voice com's ;)

Exactly my issue, they take reasonable propositions ( like smoke nerf for bigger ships ) and turn them into bad things because they don't seem to understand their own game. Stealth fire removal, wasn't even needed but ok why the heck not. But then buffing battleship concealment after shooting, and keeping battleships with same visibility penalty rule as other ships is just.. wrong. Taking away the 20km torps as viable tool, ok why the heck not as Shima spam was a real issue. But they apply a sledgehammer to the entire line, and then gradually buff some after first claiming for months that players just needed to adapt. They claim battleships were becoming an issue, but everything they do since has not shown any intent to rectify that. Well ok, they actually DID, they made a 5 soft limit and I thank them for that. But 5 is still TOO MUCH. Cruisers are the mainstay in a battle, battleships should be the second least presented class after carriers ( for gameplay's sake not historical reference even ) and if you stack to many they dictate the meta resulting in what we have now. Their solution: add more battleships with below cruiser concealment, anti cruiser heal and even better HE performance. Nothing to increase cruiser survivability, the class which should be most populous and which is being made harder to play due to class imbalance, no instead we get new battleships which are excellent at killing more cruisers. But hey, destroyer players are incapable of selecting the proper ammo during the game, just as CV players can't possibly be expected to choose HE or AP when their bombers are coming in for reloading. That's just asking to much from the casual player, instead we give them low tier battleships with insane HE performance, which makes even potato's dangerous, which keeps them playing at the expense of everything. Ow and battleships, well some of them which could actually easilly be citadeled by close range cruiser AP, get buffed. Yes, sure, you can now tell players that they should stop crying about getting their paint scratched as that is indeed mostly what enemies will be doing, the fact that they can play like a 100% potato and stay broadside without being punished is just utterly retarded and shows how much appreciation developers have for what is actually skillful in their own game. Someone btw knows WHY RN BB's have 1/4th HE pen? Does it have something to do with this utterly brain melting description of the ships main targets, since this includes the class actually intended to counter THEM? Ofc it does, you can't advertise RN BB's as destroyer killers when community just forced you to make a statement about how the RN BB fuse setting wouldn't cause more BB AP pen on DD's... you need to have insane HE to compensate and keep the babies in their fresh diapers, else they might complain.

mtm78 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I know you're saying this in jest, but this whole development direction with one gimmick countering the other gimmick is so detrimental to gameplay it's beyond words imho. So RN BB shits on.. well depending on tier I'd say 'anything' could apply, but when MM decides you fight ITA BB's you're suddenly a nuisance to your team. This game would start feel more like a MM lottery ( even compared to now, since even then it's still a potato lottery as well ). -
That is why I said you need to have played tier 5 at least, then you have left protected MM and have seen tier 7's against you. For a tier 5 DD, well sadly Gremmy isn't longer sold The new one is pretty gimmicky with 7 guns and all those torps on that ridiculous hull, it's certainly not a beginner ship. Buying a Tachibana doesn't teach you anything about gameplay out of protective MM, same with Smith. And a lot of what you 'learn' there is pretty irrelevant later on. So I understand people who want to start at tier 5 with premiums. But not tier 7 or 8 with 120 battles. Gawd no. People like that are the reason I sometimes feel like throwing a brick through my screen as I doubt the impact would have any lasting effects on the guy being hit on the head by said brick

You only quoted part of what I said, so just for clarity you CAN retrain without spending gold ( with captain skills working at 50% like EM, and I think perks like Incoming Fire turned off.. been a long time since I actually had to play an untrained captain so I might be wrong, but skills have 50% malus to the bonus they provide, and perks are turned off since they are binary iirc ). But you spend so little games that once you have a high point captain and you're still on mid tiers, the XP needed to retrain grows exponentially while the XP you need to grind to get the next ship does not. That's the point where you either NEED a premium ship to help retraining, or spend 500 gold per tier to retrain to 100% automatically. edit: as to captain points, I agree with the post above. With 10 points that would be my build. SI is also beneficial, and SE later on ( if you're going for Kebab, Grozo CE ).
-
I would actually think Sims isn't a bad way to learn DD's... it's very much a teamplay oriented destroyer and can teach players a great deal of how to be useful in the greater picture. But I do think you need to have at least reached tier 5 before buying it.

Old Ognevoi turrets: if you're 3 minutes into the game and still have at least one of your two turrets, you're lucky. If not, you're a 4km suicide torp distraction with no tactical value at all /offtopic On the PT, the only thing I am missing was planes on the top tiers. You don't need spotter plane for range, but I would really like one for proximity / over island spotting.
-
On low tiers, without having a premium to retrain the captain or spending gold, it's not even possible to retrain the captain if he has 10 points and you want to grind a tier 6 ship from scratch with that captain. Or well most of that grind will be done with a captain with 50% malus to it's skills due to still being retrained ( which is still better as nothing I guess ). How many games do you need to grind from 5 to 6, 30? 40 maybe tops? I started playing Blys with a 3 point captain, and that's tier 7. I still have 68% wr on that ship ( captain has a lot more points now though ). Knowing how to play >>>> high point captain. Ofc, the other way around is also valid, when you don't know how to play that well yet, having a high point captain surely can be beneficial.

The craze of GE BB's isn't historical but performance based. I don't expect RN craze to pass by just like that, not without some serious changes to the level of gameplay they require.
