GZ test II or Graf Zeppeling testing elsewhere
mtm78 replied to SteDorff's topic in General Discussion
I heard something about it taking 10 seconds before the game actually responded to a move order.... Not sure about the balancing, not a CV player, DB only sounds to me as pretty dull though. But I remember WG wanted those 'new speciul torpedoes' on the ship as alternate loadout so I wouldn't pick up the torches yet. -
Bismarck and Tirpitz being played just as much as all tier 8 cruisers combined => working as intended comrade But yeah I also had a match with 4 battleships today. One, out of 11 or so. The only games I had with less were in coop doing some of those missions.
-
This. The only reason I do NOT like it right now is because it can't evasion tank. That is why I like Harekaze, lower damage output with guns but much better platform. A Super-Akizuki would be a worthy adversary to a Kebab with the proper soft stats.

I disagree, it is quite influential. I am not saying that if you have good battleships and bad destroyers it's easier to win. Probably it's easier the other way around, for me at least depending on the tier I am playing but you have to take into account I'm a way better destroyer as battleship player so this is only natural. But you still need battleships to position themselves usefully or you can be prevented to cap because enemy team can keep cruisers close to their destroyers. Not enough sadly. If they do that I forget about that cap and just go support other flank, no rewards for supporting flank which doesn't want to make use of your spotting or support you capping. Might sound selfish, but it's not. You're worth more on the other flank with people who can hopefully make use of your spotting and who will hopefully support you capping. Unless enemy has a lot of support on that flank then it's normal they lag behind and I will just try to delay cap to enemy as long as possible ( but not trading hp for it, not worth it as enemy with large numerical advantage should always win the cap fight anyway ). The whole game is a risk/reward analysis ( different layers, actually knowing how to aim ect is another 'important' aspect :D ). Meh I think you know all that, sorry didn't want to sound pedantic Just want to tell you to ignore people who don't support you and not feel bad about it, there is no point. And yes, you're right, everyone doing their job would be ideal and thus almost never happens. But if you look for it constantly you can find some, here and there. That's why divisions are more fun, it' not about winning more even if that is the result, you actually know what two other people will do ). I am not talking about chosing which flanks, usually DD and cruisers pick a flank ( due to speed and acceleration, BB's can usually see where everyone goes and will generally follow them ). What I mean is in the 18 minutes after that. Do they stay behind the rest or do they push up, if they push up are they potato's which will die in 3 minutes or are they capable of handling concealment / repair and damage control? Off course battleships need others to help them do this, but they still need to do this. I'm a better cruiser and destroyer player so I might not see it correctly always but it's in my perception battleships which are mostly being played 'wrong'. I know, checking for bias is a thing right, but this opinion isn't really out of the ordinary. Most people I talked to about this subject have agreed with the basic math that both battleships are by far the most populous class ( statistical truth, not opinion ), and since their inherit traits they will attract more casual players. Even if just more numerous, their influence would be bigger. Now they also have the most survivability and the highest damage potential ( again, not opinion but statistical fact even if yes we're ignoring CV's here for obvious reason and even if we didn't recent Megazao has higher average damage as both tier X CV's ). You can not realistically argue with the notion this automatically leads to -> more bad players play battleships. And it doesn't exclude the same bad or heck even worse players also playing other classes, it just means this is less frequent.

Don't be mistaken, I am fully aware :) It's a message for WG, not a reaction to original poster,

A think a big dose of GIT GUD is what you need there my friend edit: I still think you should. Because yes you been told how IFHE benefits Akizuki a lot, but you could have gotten a lot more info from us if you asked normally. Now you just got the most basic answer since it fits your 'question'. Asking for help in a nice way really works better man, try it :)
-
Akizuki is the ship which benefits the most from IFHE due to 100mm guns it doesn't have the HE pen to penetrate DESTROYER PLATING ffs.... How about you drop that attitude, you might get better answers. You sound like you're crying about shooting HE at broadside BB's and it shattering and not causing fires *Edited

Captain, the salt levels are reaching dangerous levels... Vegeta ->

So, shells couldn't travel underwater because their fuses would arm immediately? And this 'underwater penetration mechanic' was fixed? What did WG say they were fixing second quarter 2018, in the ' BB AP on destroyers ' discussion? And there are still no changes which could affect destroyers? You're right, the above is all public knowledge and/or brought up by people other than me, so I can post those questions ( in the form that I did ). This will be my last reply on this matter though as I don't see any beneficial value from continuing it :)

The meaning of a non disclosure agreement seems to be lost on at least one particular person You have enough info to connect the dots yourself. edit: I wish things were different, I know how this might appear but I'm really not that smug dog on that picture :(

I will hold fire if it's possible to be accidental, I will even hold fire if it's not accidental but there is no need to ignore the team damage. If I'm radaring an enemy DD who has 100hp left and I have 4s left on my radar and 3 of my 4 turrets are blocked, I will still use that forth one for sure even if the other 3 will surely hit the ally. Unless my ally has a chance to die and I feel I need him. Trying to make only rational decisions in battle will generally lead to the best results. Randoms will always be randoms, but clanwars might actually be quite fun here :)

Yup he was trying to get close to the cap and wanted to get smoked up there, that's what I think at least. Also, please press '+' more times your minimap is to small ( and doesn't show ship names thus making it easier to stay aware of your surroundings ) Because the skill increased your hp when fighting higher tier planes I think? Not sure if that helps a lot as Fara was mostly saying you can't stay in enemy AAA at all. Skilled CV might be more about strafing anyway so they can compensate for having less HP? -
In case you don't know, I was a supertester and everything I did during that time is still under a never ending NDA so excuse me for not going to be specific. You can use the common available knowledge and do your own homework to reach your own conclusions. I will just repeat that yes, there been changes, and yes you need to look at your own statements and what WG is now going to fix And I don't need to go watch that video either ( already seen it, for entertainment properties only as again: I know more as you do...... ).

Why is it still possible to detonate a ship with zero shell or torpedo hits?
mtm78 replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
No. NEVER do this. Replay doesn't actually tell you much, what is rendered isn't what server thinks is happening and you have no way to connect the two. Replays can not be used to judge impact angles / locations, at least not now. I know, it's bad, and yes I would ask for replays to do rough checks, but never threat what you see in a replay as definitive. Client render output is an approximation and can be different as server, and this game is server authoritative. I think it's a small radius but it's certainly possible. -

Fighters are now tier 7 so you benefit from the captain skill, this is a buff right? Not a CV player really so maybe benefit is smaller as I think it is. -

Your screenshots don't have minimap so hard to be sure ;) If he suicide rushed in a test ship he might be doing it on purpose to claim the test isn't good and they need to buff it a bit more Still doesn't mean you will get them to test them on a different server ;) -
That is what I liked about that replay site, it analyzed the teams and you could actually see a lot of steamrolls happen not because one team has more skilled players but because one team just makes a cascading mistake. I seen teams with average 55% wr lose from teams with average 47% win rate I think. I used wows-stats for a short time, I had to uninstall because it just made me .... idk it didn't add to my enjoyment seeing those numbers, not even on enemy team.

You mistake my comment for a negative remark towards OP instead of the people whining about it If some 10m afk crap comes in my smoke and stops in front of me, I will also keep firing. I would take the pink with pride. What? You think I should just move out of my own smoke and let him use it? As long as I got a single turret which is going through to the enemy I don't really care about the afk menace to his own team. Well I do care, I am cursing him for limiting my damage output by putting his darn ship in my firing lane. I think most gun training does involve basic safety procedures, and I am guessing most of those would include a line like: if you see a guy shooting at a target, moving between him and his target might be hazardous for your health. The guy described in OP didn't read his safety manual, and he started the battle being AFK for a very long time. This wasn't a case of some guy just shooting some other guy because 'he was in my way', this is a case of 'I was shooting and this guy just moved in front of me'. There is a big difference.

That GZ is trying to reach the smoke ahead of him. If you watch Farazelleth's streams you might see him doing the same. Don't think I would call him a bad player though But he does it in divisions so he has smoke at the right times. Running full secondary build with GZ in a smoke division seemed to be reasonably fun ( for GZ owners, fun might be a low bar to reach for ). Can't see the minimap or team rosters, but yeah that's what I think he was trying to do. And no, we can't tell em to do it in a different environment, you need live server testing. That is why you also see ST testing ships on live server. -
Git gud man.

A lot, yes. The whole penetration mechanics have changed more than once after we left CBT. We also had big changes to how armor plating worked ( fuse settings ). Rethink what WG has now admitted to be going wrong..... and then look at your statement again ;)

URL says 2month time period, guess we should trust it indeed :)

That income number is actually a lot less as I expected, but don't forget WoWs has more income

The gif is nice.. I can't find the one I wanted to post though. It had ~50 torpedo triangles visible at a single moment in time I think ( visible on screen ) Ghostbuster_ is right there, 4x15 torp walls isn't the same as 3x3 launchers. I think the difference is like... uhm... 45/9 times... feck it it's A LOT ;) I still think the torps were fine if you had only one 20km shima per team, it would help a lot with bow on camping BB's as with 20km you can launch without having to run a gauntlet through radar's and hydro's before you're even in position to launch from. But 4 or 5 per team.. heck I have a screenshot somewhere with 16 shimakaze's in one RANDOM battle. And it wasn't because the ship was OP, it wasn't. The torps weren't OP either in reality, it's just like BB's it more an issue if there are a lot of them and you can no longer angle to all ( unless you go to edge of flank and keep entire enemy team on one bearing... this gives up all map control though ). And there were so many, because it required so little skill to just spam 20km torps. If you hit twice a match, you would already be an above average player I think it was? Kind of, perhaps, related to why we now have so many Bismarck's and TIrpitz's in game ;)
-
Wow... you really do like to take the moral high ground here do you? Did OP touch your ship inappropriately before or something?
