I am very much enjoying my speed boosts ( would like more as I'm grinding FR Baguettes), and am waiting for a radar to put on my VMF DD's. I might someday buy a Perth if WG manages to actually do something about BB population as well, so both the smoke and the spotter plane aren't really useless either. But I AM also strapped for cash, since I stopped paying for premiums I can break even while playing with my ships no problem even make small profits on tier X, but buying ships is a one way street to being broke. Guess I need to take advantage of the free day of premium :D

I don't think my playstyle is so bad with Akizuki.... Everything you say though and more I can do with Harekaze and actually feel more comfortable. I wish Harekaze had the extra turret and Akizuki HP but it would be totally broken if it did so maybe a good thing WG didn't make my dream DD

I agree, selling them only makes sense if you're strapped for cash.

Harekaze beats her even with 25% less dpm and lower hp, but let's agree to disagree amicably I've died to way to many torps, and lost way to much hp to incoming fire I could have dodged in any other destroyer, to still really enjoy Akizuki after SF removal.

So karma is a system where you generate karma to give more karma and take more karma from others. That doesn't sound very Russian now does it WG should just give everyone the fixed average Karma, so we all share the benefits, long live socialism!

I even find Harekaze superior even with 25% dpm loss. All because the platform actually supports evasion tanking, not even armor. Super-Akizuki was 33ton project, it wouldn't have Kebab level of armor I think ( not sure can't find details ) or speed ( 37kts ).

It's to sluggish, can't evasion tank and you will eat occasional torps as certainty. Losing SF made it an support DD pur sang, awesome dpm but can't knife fight so does best behind another IJN DD so you have some buffer.

There is a big difference though, kebab as platform has sustainability, Akizuki has not. DPM only 'matter' if it can be applied.

HE doesn't travel underwater they are armed at contact with water surface hence you can only be affected if you're inside the splash radius. The thinner your armor plating the more damage of this shell is transferred to the internal component ( magazine ). As DD plating is quite thin even small caliber HE shells have enough radius for the explosion to extent past the armor plating.

I am very bad at discerning emotional state from people based on forum posts ( or real life facial expressions ). So if you think this is the case I will go with it and extend the invitation for OP to come take a look at the SCRUBS community chat channel in game to find some division mate's ( if you need instructions check recruitment section of the forum for SCRUBS thread ). If OP had been 'nice' I would also have told him to join scrubs community channel ( seems we're the new forumites lately, with all those 'visitors' ) and division up with some window lickers who will try to explain the game mechanics to him seeing if he's able to adjust his play when he has more information. It seems to work for a lot of people, as knowledge is the most important tool isn't it :) You don't lick windows but I guess you can still learn him a thing or two hopefully

It had it's issues Didn't last that long either, armor model 'fix' was in pretty early stage. Still, you could 155 stealth fire those battleships Good players can live with occasional lucky citadel hit even while angling / minimizing profile, it's the number of battleships which are in game which make cruiser play uncomfortable in the regions they should be played ( between BB and DD line's ). I am sorry, but battleships not pushing because of HE spam is the same fairy tale as battleships not pushing due to torpedoes. Bad battleships don't push because they fear HE spam. They are the kind that snipes all game and then dies in 2 minutes railroading broadside to everyone who remains in enemy team, not even trying to evade torpedo spreads. And we have to many of them. Good battleships play aggressive. Complaining about HE spam as a battleship is laughable unless you're bad / get a crap team which leaves you committed while they run away ( first is more regular as the latter ). The class balance / distribution is essential though as every other balance adjustments only work within a certain distribution range. Which is why cruisers are hugging their waifu's as much as they are right now. Limiting their gameplay destroying tendencies by putting a cap on their numbers like CV's is the easiest, quickest and therefore smartest thing to do. And if that makes some babies quit the game, we get two birds with one stone ( as I guess it's the sniping which will pack up his jammies and leave ).

Yeah it will because the rock huggers suddenly don't have five battleships aiming at them the moment they get spotted hence they can actually STOP HUGGING THEIR WAIFU'S rocks I wish you had been here during CBT when we had different class distribution, even with less content and some kinda broken mechanics the game actually was more fun imho.

Worst case scenario they are smart and they spread out, pairing a stealth and a gunboat destroyer. Which makes meeting more as two quite unlikely, and if they are not smart and don't split they give up map control and even if you have a low damage game due to constantly needing to dodge destroyer skill walls you tying up those enemy destroyers still wins you the game ( as long as you don't have to many mouth breathers on your team ). Ow and yeah actually MM does need reworking, there should be a lower soft cap for battleships so we can have a fun and dynamic game again

Doesn't change the fact that there are no five destroyers on average, there aren't enough being played to fill the slots. But mostly sorry, I didn't have my coffee yet and I was particularly harsh on you :) edit: btw, five destroyers would still be better as five battleships, as long as MM doesn't stack to many of one type ( stealth/cap or gunboat ). But 4 is a nice cap to DD I think, with 2 stealth and 2 gunboat ideally.
