Why implementation of 0.5.3 AA changes needs to be reconsidered...
allufewig replied to T_H_0_R's topic in General Discussion
As much as any other class. -
Whats the travel time for Cleves shells at 17,5km? Played some Fletcher yesterday, on the 127mms it is 22s (!!) for 15,5km. And it is true, you cant reliably hit even BBs anymore at this range because even slight taps at one of the WASD keys offsets your aim. Not that predicting 22s in advance is easy to begin with. Personal conclusion: Buffing Atlantas range would do the ship no good.

Torpedoes had like 6x the efecctiveness of bombs before 0.5.3. I think no one claimed theyre equal now. But 40k to some of the heaviest armor in game without the drop being perfect even? Looks like a clear buff to the DBs. Bombs were always pretty solid against lowish-HP DDs, thats now just getting better too. Also: Essex and Midway by far outperformed other T9/10 ships in Terms of damage. A nerf in that respect was justified anyway. -

So we have like 50% of people already whining how the 0.5.3 changes are the tombstone on the CV-grave (again), posting pictures with 100+ planes shot down and the other half telling how they yoloed into 3 Montanas and still got their superbuffed bombs on target. Im sorry, but I am losing track somehow. So the AA-changes that were floating around were already revisited in a new round of the test? -
Well he asked "Why dont those other mean people stop playing their favourite videogame so I can harvest my goodies?" A: Because they like playing WoWs and the world doesnt revolve around you. Okay, he didnt know you cant stop Project R, but still, the question sounded pretty selfish. :/

Wow, not bad. 40% of a Yamatos health in one run! I always considered the bombs far too weak compared to the torpedoes. I like this aspect. -

Near- ontopic: How do the changes to the bombers feel? Apparently the standard-bombs now are 1000lbs instead of 500lbs which should be a massive buff. -
Fletcher has those Atlanta-shells and ca. 15km range. But honestly at that distance it is a pain even against some BBs that maneuver a bit. You can shoot and its good for the ocasional few hundred to 1-2k HP damage, but the guns dont start to be really efficient before you get to the border of the invi-firing-corridor at ca. ~10km. Atlanta trying to spam with ~17s traveltime at 15km and living for 5 minutes should be equally useless to an Atlanta closing in to 10km and living for 2 minutes. But thats guesswork, ofc.

Gibt es überhaupt special-mm in WoWs? Soweit ich weiß hat jedes Schiff +2mm mit Ausnahme der Tier1+2 und der 3er BBs.

Mikhail Kutuzov in 0.5.3. Public Test Server
allufewig replied to Klimons's topic in General Discussion
Performance of both HE and AP are very similar from my ingame experiences. Kutuzov has higher burn% on the HE and slightly higher shellspeed and accuracy which I like. It allows for very comfortable harassment of BBs on longrange. AP works like on Mogami. You dont pen stuff you wouldnt pen with Mogami as well. It is crapagainst BBs without big superstructures. Therefore I wouldnt advise to spam AP as default ammo, because the firechance is far too good to pass on. AP still works best on cruisers in the low- to midrange area. -
I think with more range, Atlantas would be even more useless. Imagine them sitting at 15-16km (and they WILL because "OMG Im so squishy") and trying to hit stuff with these shells. They already travel 14 seconds or so for the 13km range maximum it got now with the skill.

But you do understand that "gg" can be a compliment, casual communication or even a provocation depending on the context of the situation? If you insist on using the phrase no matter whats actually going on on the screen, thats your right. Just spam gg and pretend it was meant to be friendly. You can also keep on farting in peoples faces and claim it means "hello" in Whatthehellistan, if thats what youre used to. Theres no law to stop you. But honestly, dont come anywhere and complain about the "bad community", all the swearing, toxicity and the like. The easy solution would be not to use "gg" on onesided rapefests, but you obviously dont give a damn yourself about what you *actually* say to others.
-
Greeting the student politely, sure. But ffs not with "good work xxx". Similarly dont write "gg" on the internet after mangling someone hard in a computergame. It doesnt make you look polite, but like an arrogant [edited]. Just use common sense when typing. Its not hard imho.
-
I dont understand you people. Did it really not occur to you, that a allchat- "good game" after an embarassing defeat for the enemy isnt exactly sensible? I dont know what kind of person you have to be to not see this as sarcastic puns or asshattery. Imagine a teacher handing out a "F" and congratulating the student on the excellent job done. The only explanations: Hes either trying to be funny (which doesnt work over the internet), or he is an assh*le. Dont be an assh*le on the internet.

People Complaining About Losing - Solution!
allufewig replied to TheFierceRabbit's topic in General Discussion
If you mean division: You can check that. WoWs tracks that separately. If you mean carried by random teams a.k.a. luck: No. Luck/bad luck is a decimal place after some 500 battles. Winrate is class-neutral, damage is not. Just another reason to favor it over other stats. On a completely on topic- point: I do not see why WG doesnt implement curageous resistance like they did in WoT. It would be fine for both randoms and ranked. Its introduction in WoT did not have any negative effects as far as I know. -
People Complaining About Losing - Solution!
allufewig replied to TheFierceRabbit's topic in General Discussion
Because I play a game to win it and only to win it. No matter how impactless your play sometimes seems, in the longer run, it is not. Winrate does and will always reflect your performance. The more games you played, the more accurate the stat gets. This is math and no matter how much it contradicts your biased "feelings", it is true. We all suffer from selective perception, we all think we are plagued by bad luck and deep inside we all think we are greater than the stats show. We undervalue our own decisions and overvalue external factors (no day without a omg cheaters!-topic for example.) In the end, after some few hundred games, we all encountered about the same matchmaking, cheaters, bots, disconnects and whatever. If you played a ship for more than 100 battles and the counter doesnt say at least 55% you (or me) failed. Instead of blaming everyone and everything else, suck it down and strive to improve. Edit: On a sidenote, if you have high damage you always have winrate as well anyway. Win<->damage has the highest correlation of all the stats in game. There are no players with super high damage numbers and lousy wins and vice versa, reasonable sample size provided. -
Because thats not constructive or helpful in any way? I rarely talk during game anyway. I also refrain from "wp"s and "gg"s unless it was really well played. I would never write "gg" to the enemy when they got defeated easily. It would either be a lie or plain mockery. I dont like any of those options.

That would be a way to make me leave the game. Not knowing how much you won in a competitive PvP game is just rtarded. -
In a 5-minute steamroll a chat-all "gg" it is not a way of showing respect for skillful play, but a way of humiliating the losers. You could as well write "ROFL 12:1! Jesus, you people suck!"

[POLL]Name of the T10 German BB "Grossdeutschland"
allufewig replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
Hum, maybe. On the other hand, Bismarck too was deeply affiliated with the empire both under Wilhelm I and II. Didnt stop the nazis from chosing his name for a ship. -
[POLL]Name of the T10 German BB "Grossdeutschland"
allufewig replied to Spellfire40's topic in General Discussion
For the same reasons I like "Kaiser Wilhelm". Also it would be perfectly in line with the naming-scheme of other battleships of the third reich. I simply dont consider "Großdeutschland" to be a likely name considering Hitler even renamed the "Deutschland". The proposed name has an even bigger connection to the Ideologie of the nazis. Sinking a ship with the name of a nation is a propaganda-/morale- disaster on ist own, but "Großdeutschland" does not only stand for the nations military but also for the ideology of the political leadership. They wouldnt have dared to name the ship that way. -
Does your ship deserve it's tier status
allufewig replied to anonym_EFwxJOPWzlER's topic in General Discussion
Well yeah, it would be if it had normal shell arcs. As it is now, it kills only the dumb or unwary DDs, the others are basically safe. You don’t need an Atlanta to kill returds, it just goes a bit quicker. With a detection of 10,5km and no way to mount concealment module it is not like a competent DD couldn’t see it coming. Hell, even if I get surprised by an Atlanta in my DDs, I smoke up and shoot it to pieces. It usually doesn’t carry sonar because of AA, cant zigzag like another DD and takes a ton of damage from both HE and AP shells. It takes half the smoke-duration of a Benson to kill the poor thing. It is completely situational even against the enemies it is supposed to be deadly and that is just failbalancing. On the other hand we have ships like the Murmansk and the Imperator which are put at T4/5, but are clearly T5/6+ material. WG, get your fcking premium-balancing right! -

allufewig replied to anonym_EFwxJOPWzlER's topic in General Discussion
Atlanta: Tier 5 would be about fair. Maybe T6, but then it is already slightly UP again. T7 is a bloody joke. You could argue there are some ships equally wrong-placed. Well true, but considering this thing costs money, I consider it an insult to the customers. -
Du erlebst die allgemeien Planlosigkeit. Wenn die Leute keinen Ahnung von garnichts haben, spielen sie es lieber "safe" a.k.a. ganz hinten rumwarten.
