Btw, game seems to count as a finished battle. Game-counter went up.
-
At least they let you finish. WoT just kicks you out of your game without any notice.

Played 15 games today, at T7,8,9,10. Need a few more to be really sure, but I am quite certain I will not suffer from the changes. In fact I think I got a bit more than usual. Even very mediocre Shima-games (damage-wise) were very rewarding. I was the guy that finished maybe 1 out of 100 games with 75%+ HP so I almost always had full repairs anyways. I like the changes. Edit: Conway/WG: If needed, adjust the values, but please dont change the system as a whole. The preserve-your-health-meta is really something we should get rid off. The economy changes as such went in the right direction.

Dass die Kitakami eventuell nochmal auftaucht wurde in einem Dev Q&A erwähnt ( Sept 2016) Später nochmal in einem Interview: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/62661-talkin-ship-an-interview-with-the-global-publishing-producer-pt-2/page__p__1318043#entry1318043 Kitakami only as some sort of reward for the most skilled Players.

I always want to punch those CV-revisionists in their ugly faces when they brabble about how CVs should be rebuffed to their old beta-powelevels. If that ever happens, i will be gone in an instant. The CVs were a design- and balancingfail that dwarfs all the other fails of this game combined. Making one class deliberately overpowered to force teamplay upon players is just the dumbest approach they ever tried. Im simply not knowledgeable enough to comment on the situation of CVs (playability, fun, etc.) nowadays, so I just wont do that. Just adding that there are still plenty of CVs in mid and lowtier. Grinding the german BBs right now and in T4-5-6 there are hardly any battles without a CV.

Nope.

5.12: Yet another balls up to appease whiners
allufewig replied to Charger76's topic in General Discussion
What a simple view of the world OP has. Stop balancing ships is a horrendously stupid suggestion. It is not just that ships get changed. Everything does. Old vehicles performance changes even though they were not even touched. New content (maps, ships, modes..) and new mechanics (cyclone, radar...) constantly alter the meta and class distribution. This is the sign of a living game. Its the developers duty to keep all the ships in a playable and roughly equally performing state while the game is evolving. The moment you stop balancing, you stop caring for your game. Of course you could just stop adding new stuff at a point when everything seems rather balanced. But that means that developement is over, the games life-cycle ended. -
Big differents in "skill" between the team's
allufewig replied to DinkyToy_AW's topic in General Discussion
I would be odd if players didnt discuss that. I have not yet seen a videogame in which it was "Oh god why am I winning so much? It must be rigged in my favor!" The phenomenon is called selective perception. In our minds we win because we naturally deserve it, but we lose because someone or something cheats us. Fact is: Everyone gets those unlucky streaks and sometimes they can be pretty long. A manipulated matchmaker would probably try to avoid such streaks as they do not look random to the human brain, when in fact they are. I have witnessed 13x red in roulette in casino btw and I dont even go there often. The day the streaks end, I will open a rigged mm thread. -
I only apologize to OMNI- or other known tryhard guys. The average player apparently loves to get detonated anyway. Or he just doesnt care.

Oh I would, if I could.

Wargaming don't treat the symptoms and fix the real problems
allufewig replied to Spithas's topic in Archive
Everything but cruisers as dedicated "allrounders" should be hardcapped imho. You could be somewhat generous on the limits, such as 4 DDs (a Division + 1 random) or 5-6 BBs. This would still allow for variety. But 5+ DDs or more than 5 BBs are rarely fun. Too many DDs and youre just busy navigating the torpedo-soup (and youre fcked should your DDs ever die too early on as theres no way to turn it around anymore), too many BBs and the game tends to be a longrange stalemate with cruisers in permanent fear of getting shafted by RNG. 10 cruisers? Who cares?- 36 replies

Wargaming don't treat the symptoms and fix the real problems
allufewig replied to Spithas's topic in Archive
Wow rude Spithas. But in essence I think youre right. Camping largely stems from player insecurity, lack of knowledge or brain. Economics, individual gamemechanics and maps do their share as well, but probably have a lesser impact. In a hard-to-learn game like WoWs with its rather intransparent mechanics ( where info seems to be scattered among reddit, wiki, forums, official-, leak- and fansites) and no helping tutorial or beginner-gamemodes, we will always have camping. A slight reduction in the gaining rate of the points in domination and a hardcap for DDs were long on my wishlist. Actually I think that every class should be hardcapped, with the exception of cruisers. The only class that doesnt really screw gameplay when encountered in large numbers.- 36 replies

Deutsche Schlachtschiffe 4-Punkte-Skill?
allufewig replied to DragonJacob13's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Im the odd one. At least yesterday I played like total crap and got carried by randoms all the time. ^^ Saw lots and lots of AFK "players" during the weekend though. Certainly more than normal.

allufewig replied to LordFreeze_1's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
They have a lot of top spots, but often its just a relatively small margin though (considering winrate). I honestly think some of the german BBs are more problematic. But lets wait a bit longer.

Änderung der Reparaturkostenberechnung geplant für 0.5.12
allufewig replied to LilJumpa's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
-
Things have normalized quite a bit though. During the first 2 or 3 months of SN cruisers lifetime they were ahead in almost every tier. Now even Budyonny lost its first place on T6. I dont expect that to happen with the lower tier german BBs tbh. At the moment they have literally double the average damage done than their weakest contemporary. I call german bias! OT: US CAs from T7 onwards were always tough to play and honestly, New Orleans and Baltimore are just absolute crap when you look for competitve ships. Except from a buff to the auto-ricochet angle nothing ever happened. These ships severely underperform since beta times.

Starting to wonder about teammate survival rates.
allufewig replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Archive
Which part of "sinking enemy ships helps your team" do you find hard to understand? -
I dont know what you guys are talking about, but when I meant griefer, I meant people with the intent of driving into friendly torpedoes (that would never have hit unless deliberately steering into them) to get someone reported, to get an excuse for flaming or just because they felt like it.
-
Its not even my real opinion. Better hang one innocent than let 99 criminals...no I do not really want that. But for the games sake it might be the lowest common denominator. People are hellbent on a super easy solution. "Your torps, your fault" and done. I dont care enough to argue with them.
-
We can stay with "your torps, your fault" just for convenience. The handful of people that really did fell victim to some devious griefers or to an agglomeration of unfortunate circumstances (see Kamikazesushis or Tubits example) are acceptable collateral damage.
