Aufkommenden Änderungen der Kapitäns-Skills
allufewig replied to NuckingFoob's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Both can do massive damage in one shot/strike (rage-potential!) and are their games respective "sniper"-class with the highest map coverage. Other than that theyre completely different. Unlike cancer in WoT, carriers are pretty skill-sensitive. They can be outplayed (to some degree) and can be de-planed. They used to be OP as hell at some point in the past, but that times are gone for now. Btw, dont mind some posters. Your question is 100% legitimate. Your desire not to play a broken class honors you.

Upcoming Captain Skill Changes (Leak)
allufewig replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Uhm...no? Since when 380/6x1,25 = 119? Edit: Forgot the german special treatment. They get 1/4 shell diameter as HE-penetration. -

Thats what Im saying. The best way to dodge F3s is to know where the destroyer is. It gets rather trivial to avoid the torps if your new arrow points at a spot where no other ship is spotted. It is why I think the skill is everything but bad. The question rather is, if its worth 4 skill points. -

Well I probably wouldnt take KI as well, but a lot of people will. It makes playing torpedo-ships even less interesting. Also, if it constantly points to the nearest enemy ship it is not a bad skill by any means. It basically means 100% ambush-immunity and torpedo-immunity in lategame, without needing either vigilance nor a sonar. It counters especially F3-destroyers with very hard to dodge, short-running torps, a.k.a. the ones that are dangerous even to good players. Because being able to track the launching-platform is much better than spotting torpedoes that you sometimes cant avoid even with sonar. Plus it can help you chase down fleeing and cloaked ships in case you need points for a win. Or the other way round, it can show you the best direction flee in case you need to run away to not give points to the enemy. Even if youre usually aware of the map, sometimes there will be situations where this is helpful. -
Upcoming Captain Skill Changes (Leak)

I dont get it. Which accuracy bonus? Now the skill gives a 100% damage bonus to large caliber AA (86mm+) and the "new" skill does exactly the same. -

How was manual AA buffed? Unless I am mistaken, it didnt change: +100% DPS versus a marked target. -

Preventative maintenance cost reduced from 5 to 1 points. LUL. Well I guess its a nice deal for a lot of ships now. Im also interested in that HEAP. A ticking fire on a T9/10 BB can deal up to ~12k maximum if you ignite the target shortly after it used DCP. Wonder if a reduced amount of shells going "poof" on the armor can compensate for the reduced firechance. Especially on 152mm Zippos like Belfast and Kutuzov. -
A Battle Report - Why Yoshi_EU is a TOP CLASS player
allufewig replied to xenopathia's topic in Videos & Streams
I cant see you doing anything wrong there from 15:00 onward. Imho it was perfectly okay to secure the kill on the Essex first and then turn for the Moskva, which is what you did. No doubt that guy is pretty good, but he and his buddies are super heavy flamers with huge egos. Better be at their service immediately or get shittalked. -
I played 24 games within the last 90 days, but only two of them during 0.5.14. None of these 24 matches was in battletier 6. Probably worth some future testing.
-
It was super strong when it could meet T6. Now that it sees T5 max it is OP as all fck. The only way to have a bad time in this ship is when a carrier focuses you, because it has like 2 machine-guns as AA and thats it. Speed and acceleration are low too, but everything else is at least good for that tier. It is superbly accurate with an insane punch, is well-armored everywhere with almost no annoying superstructure and has a godlike turret-layout. It rules among T4-ships and even T5s bow before it more often than not.
-
Quite alot, yes. Doing permanent turns and speed changes is extremely stressful: When the enemy uses shells you have more control over the damage you receive because you can see battleships almost all the time and angle accordingly. But you cannot see IJN DDs and a mistake may not only cost you 15-25k by getting 1 or 2 citadells, but some 30k+ and a severe dot effect on top of that. Your positioning to the enemy DD is largely irrelevant in regard to mitigating damage when hit, because torps inflict heavy damage anyway. With some 4-5 torpedo-DDs around, even maneuvering didnt give a frontline-BB any reasonable security, strongly encouraging the stay-back-meta for these ships. Old 20km Type 93 also was spotted later and therefore was more dangerous. There was no radar and sonar was less prevalent. Noobs liked Shima to bits because it was largely risk free and gave you ocassional big hits without knowing crap about the game. Edit: That doesnt mean Shima was OP. It means that its playstile and characteristics (and those of Kagero to some extent too) shaped the meta in a way that was not pleasant for most players. WG had to take some incentive away to use the longrange spam-torps. If the changes worked out well in every aspect is debatable, but I can only agree on their motivation why they did it.
-
Not really. Before the Shima-rebalance the 20km ones iirc had a detection of 1.9 or 2.0km instead of the 2.5km they have now. 2-3 shimas was not uncommon, usually accompanied by Kageros and Fubukis. Maybe the changes since then were not all good individually, but the fact that the torpedo-spam has declined certainly is.
-
True. Playing Shima after some 50 games in Belfast: 1. Unnecessarily slow down because you think you got 2-pop smoke. 2. Hammer the key for smoke, cursing the damn input lag. 3. Realize it isnt the input lag this time, but you were pressing the wrong button for the last 3-4 seconds. 4. Get detonated in smoke by the follow-up blindshots. 5. Get reported for bad play.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]
allufewig replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Where do you check that? All I know is that I got 3SC by mostly chosing "more flags and camo"-containers. But Im not sure how many containers I opened in total. -
I smell the next OP ship. Artificially overbuffed values on the weaponry (like 8400 AP damage) at an unhistorical 20s reload and nice ~16km range. Then there are the torps: 2x4 with 8km range@65kn and insanely good firing angles. The consumable madness continues with heal on T6, a choice between def AA and hydro and it has a fighter instead of a spotter. Belt is good enough to deal with cruisers when angled. Bow and Stern are 19mm and do not get overmatched by 203mms. Agility and camo are okay-ish The only way to balance this out would be to cut her real-life dpm to lousy levels by giving her only 6 guns the Scharnhorst-accuracy. With the common accuracy-bonus that cruisers usually have, this thing will be completely insane.

Danke Jungs. Edit: Oh, Alex704 liked. Einer meiner "Detonatoren" gestern. Gz! ;(

Steven Seagal als Kapitän gewinnen
allufewig replied to Wilhelm_von_Preussen's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Was ist so schlimm daran? -
Over a larger amount of games, thats precisely what it does. You sound like someone that truly believes he was cheated for his whole 2,3k games, or probably, his life. In that case you need professional help that you cannot get here. We will tell you the obvious and you will keep denying it. Just like all the other special snowflakes too.

Steven Seagal als Kapitän gewinnen
allufewig replied to Wilhelm_von_Preussen's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
The problem that is the ARP Nachi mission: aka "the omg its a Russian ship, kill it" mission
allufewig replied to Fiery_Kathy's topic in General Discussion
Im interested in seeing replays of people who successfully used their soviet ships to lure enemies into deathtraps.
