I just can't see a way to make the Kitakami work...
Trent replied to Remi_Drexel's topic in General Discussion
Maybe the effectiveness of spam wall of torps will increase along with the influx of newbies in open beta? Right now probably most people in high tiers know how to reduce the risk of getting hit by long range tops, and know what Kitakami is - but blind torpedo shots in low tiers (where larger numbers of inexperienced players are to be expected) are sometimes amusingly effective. -
Really? I never got a match with 3 ships difference, it's always either 0 or 2 ships for me.
-
Good luck with that. What I can see as a result of such "inspiration": "Hey, can you hold the course for a moment? I want to torp you and then go suicide, so we won't get 0 XP and credits."

It's still CBT, it they decide it's too stronk, they can nerf it by buffing everything else.

This is something that happened to me a few days ago: I was steering away from incoming torpedoes in my DD (Minekaze, tier V). One of them managed to get really close and was going side by side with my ship, with the course of the torpedo and my ship being almost parallel. It looked like I was going to walk away unscathed, but then the torpedo exploded - I was under the impression that it didn't actually hit me, just exploded when it was really close. After the battle, in Damage Received section, there was only damage from one torpedo recorded, for a total of 4k-ish HP. If it was a direct torpedo hit (to a pretty much unarmoured target), then is it possible for a damage to be so low? Was it just a lucky combination of ship attacking me being several tiers lower (I know there are some low tier torps with 6400 max damage, but I don't remember what ship it was) and a low dmg roll? Is there some mechanics which makes it possible (in some rare situations) for torps to detonate without direct contact - and deal less damage? Tried to google for it, but to no avail. Not losing my sleep over it or anything, just curious.

After 3 seconds, ship's camo net activates.

In-game help describes "heal" as restoring only light damage (you see whether the damage is light, moderate or heavy every time you get hit). So there's no RNG here really, it just makes you more resilient against BBs and other plankton tickling you with peashooters.

I don't think it would be a good change, it would make DDs almost totally defenceless (unable to uncap) if they're last ships on the team. But varying cap speed depending on class (DDs cap slowest, BBs - fastest)? Why not, seems viable and beneficial for gameplay to me.

Very relevant.

For what it's worth: I play both WoT and WoWS on minimum details. WoT gives me 15-35 fps on almost all maps. WoWS gives me about 7-9 fps, dropping in some situations to literally 0 fps.
-
WoT pokazuje parametry (penetrację i uszkodzenia) amunicji nie tylko w garażu, ale i w trakcie gry, wystarczy najechać kursorem na ikonę.
-
Still, small things might make a difference between the general feeling of "eh, they rushed the launch, it is not finished" (as it happened with WoWp) and "nice, this game is really polished" - I think I could literally count dozens of details that are working fine and taken for granted in WoT, yet curiously absent in WoWs. You wouldn't think WoT's team is small either, yet they apparently have just one guy responsible for MM.

I want the game to show me how much damage each shell makes
Trent replied to TheOneAndOnlyGoldstein's topic in General Discussion
I wonder if it means that "maximum damage" as visible in stats is "125% of average damage" (or "100% plus whatever-the-RNG-range-is"). -
I don't think it's a good idea: team with more kills would lose incentive to engage in the late game ("guys, lets' stop fighting and we win!"). 5 draws in 88 games for me, by the way.

Ye quick beginners guide to World of Warships
Trent replied to Adwaenyth's topic in Newcomers' Section
Fair enough, I guess; it's just that the current phrasing might suggest to people unfamiliar with the nomenclature that destroyers are actually the same class as torpedo boats. -
Ye quick beginners guide to World of Warships

Very nice guide for a WoWs newbie like me. Just a small nitpick, though. Adwaenyth, on 13 March 2015 - 09:19 AM, said: The second class you can unlock are the destroyers. Their main purpose can easily be determined, when you know that they were also called torpedo boats by some nations. They were not torpedo boats, they were a different class named torpedo boat destroyers, i.e. their initial purpose was to defend against torpedo boats.
