    Isn't that true for most CV's these days? If WG want to lessen the skillgap between CV players then this is not going to help. I'm almost at Hiryu but I don't really have much motivation to actually get it and play it. Current state of CV gameplay just isn't very appealing to me: between wonky UI and crappy balance (both between CVs and general AA power of some ships) now adding even more powercreep ('no new prem CV till rework' my arse) among CV's is definitly not the right move to get more people to play those lines. I might consider buying her if they deliver on the damn rework they promised well over a year ago.

    I think that they have like a semi regular phone conversation with HQ about what stuff is coming up soon. Events and specials are usually left up to the regional community teams to come up with etc. Honestly the system seems really weirdly structured for a gaming company. Especially considering that EU community team has to manage all 3 titles while NA, RU etc get dedicated teams for each game. This is also exactly why there has always been so much fuss about server inequality where RU usually gets amazing events and free stuff and EU usually gets shafted (i.e. christmass convoys etc). From a organizational perspective I think that this is really working to WG's detriment in the long run and is one of the reasons why they are so prone to PR disasters, although this one is of biblical proportions compared to the previous ones.

    WG: "We only wanted to take down Foch's defamation" Saying f*** WG isn't defamation. WG: "Foch's videos contain homophobic slurs and are full of hate speech" This, however, is defamation. Also it is hilarious that WG expressly have permission to use their intelectual property. This is a new level of stupid. How do you mess up so badly. How do I PR? This is kind of what you can expect if your organization is run so loosely that the different teams barely have any contact before making statements.

    If I hadn't played WoT (or most online games), even with the whole sent by an actual person thing flashing on screen I'd have had difficulty believing that someone could be so dense and full of themselves. It also gives a bit better view of the actual issue than IChase's 'well copyright is a kind of grey area so both are at fault'. I mean obviously it is legaly a grey area, but it is also quite clear that the threat had nothing to do with copyright violation itself and it was about WG abusing a system to silence someone they had already distanced themselves from under false pretences.

    Edited This basically is everything I hoped it to be. This is not a copyright issue, WG dissasociated themselves from SirFoch and should have not pursued further action as he did not 'represent' WG anymore, there is no defamation going on in the video, and WG knew Foch's style before they offered him CC status. There was no 'homophobic' stuff or 'hate speech' in the video and if there is in his older videos then why are they just bringing it up now when it is convenient? (Also if there isn't any evidence to substatiate that claim than that would technically count as defamation) WG was definitly in the wrong here for threatening to abuse the copyright system no matter what angle you look at it.     So this is a thing that suddenly popped up that was bound to happen at some point. 4 months old channel with near 500.000 subscribers with ~100 videos as of typing this. The content is quite the regular youtube channel with gaming, Vlogs etc. Her existence or popularity doesn't really surprise me and seems to be taking the online world to its logical conclusion. Everyone online enjoys a great deal of anonimity. They act different than they would IRL to some extent and often hide themselves behind profile pics etc. People like to present a certain vision of themselves that needn't be representative of the person. Most youtubers adopt some form of persona with a 'artificial'-personality with it. This is basically just that: a internet persona but turned up to eleven and given a mo-capped body. You could probably write a thesis on this. But yes this is basically memes and is going to take over the internet whether you like it or not. I for one welcome our new waifu overlord. I wonder if we can get her to play WoWs

    This is def my favourite tank review ever. If the powercreep kicks of in WoWs and we get a Belfast every week we definitly need a Foch. Aside from this being hilarious, especially the intro, is the Chrysler review really that much more offensive compared to this? He basically says the exact same things.

    Because threatening to take away peoples livelihoods in a unethical way is not unethical? wat I can imagine that Foch didn't find this particularly funny either as WG threatened to shut down his entire channel since they would flag his future WG content as well. Threatening peoples livelihoods because they criticize you is not OK in any way. WG deserves all the crap that it is getting for this.

    I'm pretty sure there is no binding agreement. And Foch doesn't really care about CC status anyway. But even within that context WG removes Foch then their partnership has ended and nobody would have batted an eye if it remained at that. Threatening to also give him a copyright strike if he doesn't remove his video and if he doesn't comply also ban him from monitizing future WG related video content has nothing to do with this anymore as he isn't even a CC at this point. WG cancelled their affiliation with Foch and their involvement in his business should have reasonable ended. As I understand it SirFoch's video would not meet the criteria for defamation as he merely accuses WG of being greedy. (WG claiming in the Kotaku article that Foch makes homophobic content and engages in hate speech however ) And I'm also pretty sure his video was not the harshest piece of criticism ever leveled at WG, even in video form. Foch was just the first that WG tried to silence. (and take the rest of his channel down with it) Also it sets a precedent that WG might try this again in the future or has already intimidated people into changing their opinions in the past.

    Did they just call that video homophobic? And hate speech? This might actually be one of the the dumbest things that I've read on Kotaku. BLOODY KOTAKU. That unnamed PR person has no clue what they are talking about and is just throwing buzzwords around.

    Is that even possible at this point? Like seriously we get yet another ship that functions better as both a gunboat and arguably better as a torpboat than any of the 3 t6 IJN DDs. It has all the advantages that were supposedly the Japanese 'flavour' like high damage fast torps and good concealment while having none of the disadvantages like the (comparatively) horrific guns, bad maneuverability and terrible torp concealment.

    I've long since given up on this whole thing. People on both sides are equally horrible. Feminists and anti-feminists, Antifa and alt-right. Both are living in their own echo-chambers of moral superiority and outrage which only further reinforces toxicity. But that is just my two cents.

    You could check out So Ra No Wo To if you haven't already. Haven't seen Alderamin of the Sky or the Valkyria Chronicles anime (played the game though) so I can't really comment on those. If dystopian Italian special police hunting terrorists counts you could try Gunslinger Girl. If you just want to see people blowing other people up with guns I'd recommend Black Lagoon in all its ridiculous glory. If you want a story about the horrors of war watch Grave of the Fireflies. (Which is actually based on a true story which is even more tragic)
