Apparently there is a unread content button. "Ok, seems fine," one might think, until you realise there is no language filter making it a completely useless feature. Did they literally directly rip the RU/NA version without taking into account that EU has like 7 different language subforums?

How nice of WG to try and get people more accustomed to CV's by modeling the forums after the CV interface.

I can't see likes, the symbol for threads I've commented on is tiny, profile screen has a few tabs missing, etc. Also there are now sound notification, which is a thing I guess. I could deal with all of this but please just take out the announcements. I don't know whose idea it was to make them take up the top part of the screen or to enable all languages instead of only the relevant ones but this is what really annoys me about the new forums. This is just simply bad design that hinders the user experience instead of enhancing it.(Putting names next to likes again would be nice as well)

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Verdius replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Something something gold unification. Something something year of CV's. Something something no new prem CV's before rework. -
I just went through my YT history for music. These were the last 3. Spoiler Can't go wrong with Ace Combat. I'm hyped for Skies Unknown. I hope it is a return to form as we haven't had a good (anime tier ridiculous) plot driven arcade flight game where I get to take out massive solar lasers, submersible aircraft carriers, and massive floating fortresses of death while flying through a collapsing tunnel in modern real world aircraft while dodging missiles and gunfire and an epic soundtrack plays. Hope it is a return to the glory days of Ace Combat 5 and Zero. 2hu. Nuff said. I don't even know how I found this one. I don't even speak russian, but the lyrics are so melancholic and the performance is so good that it conveys the feeling none the less. Quite a neat song about a (in the west) often forgotten war with lyrics that are relevant to this day and applicable to other conflicts. Makes you wonder how a meeting between Soviet-Afghan War vets and Vietnam vets would go and what they would say to one another.

Most satisfying moment is when you ram the enemy flagship with an ironclad and you watch it slowly sink while the enemy fleet burns in the background. Calling the 16th/early 17th century Sengoku period in Japan the Tudor period is the most anglo-centric description of history I've seen in my life though.

whats the balancing factor of HE spammers
Verdius replied to chrissyboy1992's topic in General Discussion
Do we need to add Islands to the BBaby bingo? There is room now that stealth firing is gone. I call hax! How can WG even pretend the game is fine with so many using filthy WASD hax! /s You expect them to sit still and take the salvo to the face and get oneshotted then? -
It is not a general CV buff though, only USN CV, which are underperforming on average against IJN CV will get access to it.Still other classes could use some love.
-
Detonations are pure RNG and a badly designed mechanic so getting to ignore it sounds fine to me. The only thing Detonation rewards are players with immunity to detonation through flags.
-
Maybe then we don't get such idiotic pandering like disabling alt-attack on tier 4-5 CV. I mean they should just make a special Tutorial Operation for each class that you have to complete before you can play it in randoms/ops/ranked.

USN carriers still suck (Enterprise as well)
Verdius replied to dasCKD's topic in General Discussion
AP bombs are not going to make CV's noticibly more popular. The more pressing problems with the class won't be addressed by it. The ui is still crap, economy isn't rewarding, the inflexible loadout system that is partly responsible for the inbalance in the first place, the AA powercreep, DB being far too RNG dependant, etc., etc. At best some people will play it for a week or so until the novelty has worn out and they go back to playing better ships. Nah, the current actual BBabies would much rather whine than actually improve at the game, let alone learn a new class. It's way easier for them to just complain about 'sky **ncer' 'clickers' (despite these people seeming incapble of a higher APM than 2/3 themselves) being OP. If those people were capable or willing to learn they would have figured out that sitting at the border of the map lobbing shells 20km instead of doing things like pushing makes you completely useless to the team and throws matches. I still can't even get how people can play the game like that. To play in the most boring way possible while minimizing their influence on the outcome of the match. -
The Dutch sacrifice, AKA Why isn't there a Dutch premium yet?

There is a Chinese tech tree in the works for quite some time though. It was confirmed in an issue of the official WoT magazine quite some time ago. -
Because now they can sell people made up currency twice!

Which is why the Chinese are in the game? (From a naval perspective ofc) -

Taihou 大鳳 means great phoenix, 大 is the kanji for big, 鳳 is the kanji for phoenix. Zuihou 瑞鳳 also has the kanji for phoenix, while Zuikaku 瑞鶴 has the kanji for crane. Interrestingly enough in Shoukaku (翔鶴) and Shouhou (祥鳳) the shou part is spelled with different kanji and thus Shouhou is not soaring phoenix but auspicious/happy/fortunate phoenix. Also it is probably a bit harder to draw a carp or pheasant in a gracefull or intimidating manner on your promotional art for a game about warships. -
Will WG implement the training room in game in a future update?
Verdius replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
It is still kind of baffling that someone made a mod like what? One and a half years ago? And the proffesional Lesta/WG still can't just enable it or even just support the mod themselves. WG really needs to get their priorities straight: CV rework (burn it to the ground and start from scratch I'd say at this point), make a bloody tutorial, support training room and/or observer mode for better competitive play. (And unified gold with WoT) The operations are fun and all, but honestly I'd rather that they they focus their efforts on any of the previous points. -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
Verdius replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
The other was the Marcello class submarine Comandante Cappellini/UIT-24/I-503. By the end of the war she had a mixed crew of Italian, German, and Japanese sailors. She was also present at the rescue effort after the Laconia incident where a German U-boat torped a British ship carrying Italian PoWs. -
If you already hate Konigsberg I wouldn't worry about Hipper yet because before that you'll have to grind through Nurnberg and Yorck as well which are even worse. (Although I kind of like the Konigsberg)
-
Grozovoi also has def AA, as does Udaloy. And it was later decided to give USN DDs def AA by making it a hull up/sidegrade, long after the ships were already in the game so they didn't 'pay for it with bad gun arcs', they already had those. And Akizuki at long range gets some wonky gun arcs as well. I hope WG will eventually just expand the Akizuki branch to tier 10 with the proposed super-Akizuki and give the branch from T8 up def AA, possibly as a switch out for torp reload booster or speed boost.
-
For me it would be the new T6 Fubuki and tier 8 Kagerou. T8 Fubuki used to be the absolute highlight of the IJN tree, a high tier with 3x3 fast reloading torps, decent mobility, actually pretty workable guns, and good concealment. Then they brought her down to tier 6 and she is just meh with crappy detection and terrible guns and a horrid stock grind. And Kagerou is slow and has quite a long reload on her 2x4 torps so she just isn't as fun.

Voted Nagato until we get our hands on this beauty: Although Richelieu is quite nice as well

I am pretty sure Budyonny doesn't have speed boost. Cleveland : 34Farragut : 20 Arizona : 9Shinonome : 17 Mutsu : 19 Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 8Fusō : 15Aoba: 21 + 1 = 22 Solid all-rounder for a t6 cruiserFubuki : 20Graf Spee : 24 - 3 = 21 While the guns are good on Scharny they are pretty meh on the slow, floating citadel, no AA Graf Spee.Warspite : 16Leander : 26Molotov : 15Budyonny : 9Dunkerque : 7Duca d'Aosta : 26Perth : 35

Did you design or plan to desing an interior layout for it as well?

Wouldn't Italy also have an eagle, especially considering the time period? The crane isn't necessarily wrong, as it is a animal with mythological and cultural significance. Also Shoukaku and Zuikaku mean soaring crane and auspicious crane, respectively. -
Scharnhorst is missing as well.
