  1. Who do you shoot at: the heavily armoured high HP Yamato who blew the smoke away or the stationary super squishy floating citadel Minotaur? It is a nerf to teamplay first and foremost. For BBs having smoke is nice. For RN CLs and DDs having smoke is essential and every second matters.
  2. You know that once WG sets its sight on something it will push it through no matter what everyone tells them. See: RPF, Stealthfire, Belfast, Black, Flint, Def AA BB, Radar BB. Soon we can add radar RN BB to that list and I doubt WG will listen when we tell them that this smoke nerf unfairly targets ships that are dependant on it for survival and only favours BBs. Also so glad that after numerous promises of regional equality RU gets an exclusive mission to get a free Oktober Revolution, which is probably the only ship in the entire RU tech tree that I actually care about for reasons other than it is strong/OP.

    I've seen the document. It also had a altenative suggestion by Strangers123 that I really liked. Basically smoke would work like it does now but your detection bloom when you fire would be half of its regular bloom/get a modifier dependant on calibre while in smoke screen. It would make rushing smoke screens more viable as the enemy will be spotted if they shoot back and nerf BBs and long range ships camping smoke while still allowing DDs and RN CL to operate effectively.

    The only Russian ship that I cared for because history (and KC) and was kind of excited for, and obviously WG decides to shaft EU....
  5. Don't forget that we already have a tier 7 prem RN BB in the form of Hood. But I guess RN teaaboos aren't being milked enough so a already near finished (and quite highly anticipated historic) ship is being cut out of the tech tree to be sold like a piece of day 1 dlc.
  6. As it stands right now the wording implies that shooting messes up all smokescreens in a 630m radius.
  7. That smoke nerf seems ridiculous. It would not only heavily nerf RN cruisers and DDs in favour of BBs but also actively discourage and punish teamplay. I really hope that that is just based on some unfounded speculation, although at this point I wouldnt even be surprised anymore considering how WG is already doubling down on radar BBs.

    0.6.9 New Mechanic: Smoke-firing Penalty !! WARNING: We speculate that this new mechanic will work as follows. However, unveiling the actual effect requires further investigation. Now, smoke-firing will not be as pleasant as it used to be. Ships fire inside (or around) smoke screen will accelerate the dissipation of smoke. For example: Gearing's 1-click firing will reduce 0.24 (0.12×2) sec. lifetime of all smoke cloud in a radius of 630 meters. Larger caliber guns have better effect on smoke dissipating. The biggest 460mm has the basic smoke-dissipation penalty of 5.91 seconds.   9. AP bombs already being nerfed... As for Yamamoto: Can you imagine going in a div and feeding the player with Yamamoto some kills. Now imagine a Yamato with 20 sec reload while healing near 50% of his HP. Or the torp soup, that WG is so adamant on preventing, of a 33% reload speed buffed Shima. This is basically CoD killstreaks turned up to 11 in a game without respawns.

  11. Got the news as well. Heard some rumours that they are testing some things with him. Right now supposedly he has +1 consumable for the rest of the battle if he gets first blood and heals 48% HP if he get kraken.
  12. That is because A: 203mm Mogami is extremely meh. B: the introduction of IFHE has made 155 superior to 203mm in terms of DPM in near all cases. I don't see why higher DPM but can't overmatch can't work on tier 8.
  13. 155mm Mogami is way more playable than 203mm Mogami. If they made Scharnhorst the regular tier 7 BB it wouldn't be a problem. Calibre is not the main issue, the entire package is.
  14. Furutaka is the same tier and has bigger guns. This is a ship balance issue. I don't see why this is a 'progression' issue
  15. The problem people have with Kirov is that it is extremely squishy and doesn't turn, not that its guns are bad.
  16. I think it was a HSF reference since the show had a cat called Isoroku which is available as a commander as a mission reward (Not on EU though)

  18. I mean if you press 1 you can still rek people with fires and HE damage. And with RN napalm HE shells one would think this wouldn't be that much of an issue anyway.

    If 'gets citadelled by BBs' is your only balancing factor you might as well call all cruisers equally balanced. I mean Belfast also gets citadelled, as does Fiji, as does Yorck,. But I doubt many people would tell you Yorck is equal to a Fiji or Belfast.
