Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Verdius replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
My preferred option to deal with BB overpopulation is to at least make high tier maps somewhat less BB friendly. Give other classes some more cover to work around and options to ambush. Make it less a long range shooting gallery with all the empty no-mans-land of certain death for spotted cruisers/DDs. It won't solve the population numbers but would at least make other classes more comfortable to play. Especially Okinawa, Mountain range and Tears of the Cruisers are way more favourable to BBs than to other classes so if WG wants to make other classes more attractive and reduce camping then reworking these maps would be a good starting point. -

Italians still so far away gib Roma nao (wait no let us not rush things again, but gib soon!) No missiles is something I am totally ok with. It doesn't really fit the game anyway. Mines in PvP I am quite sceptical of. The amount of people I saw run into them in Dunkerque doesn't fill me with confidence that this will make gameplay more fun when half your team derps into them. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Just had a game against @EsaTuunanen. (Guess which ship) Lost by points although it became quite a close match. Our team probably would have won if not for this: -
Gold ammo ruined WoT for me. When all the angling, aiming for weakspots, etc counts for nothing because your opponent can just press 2 to 'outskill' you. It adds absolutely nothing to the experience. The only party with any interest in, or benefit from the introduction of, gold ammo is the WG sales department. It put more workload on the devs because there is a new factor in balancing and players will be frustrated because it is first and foremost P2W and because everything will be balanced around the idea that everyone is constantly using it. Honestly an open question: Can anyone think of even a single way in which gold ammo improves the gameplay experience? A single argument for why the introduction of more expensive Gold Ammo would be an improvement over the current situation? I am really unsure why WG would need to 'consider' it aside from obvious cash grabbing.

Graf Zeppelin is an insult to paying customers

So they finally admit that it was not fit for sale? Its a step in the right direction, although if they admit this I'd also hope they would offer refunds to those who request them. -

The current AP DB's need to go. The delay is unworkable. Just nerf the alpha and make them hit instantly. The broken mechanic has to go before you can ever call this ship 'fixed' And let CV's actually switch between AP and HE bombs during battle the same way ships can switch ammo. Same thing for Enterprise and the other USN CV when they get access to AP bombs. Currently AP bombs on any CV are only really good for dev striking Bismarck/Fusou and not much else. -

Or STs for that matter from what I hear. At least for the delayed bombs. Do you think that this thread gets 27 pages just because GZ is weak? The problem lies in releasing untested unfinished ships onto the live server just to make a quick buck. The fact that they are selling a fundamentally broken product. I don't care even if absolutely no-one bought it, you just can't sell this ship in this state without any QA. -

How is that a defence of the state GZ was released in? This basically sums up my opinion on this monstrosity: -

WG already talking about multiple german premium DDs coming soon. Can't wait to see how they screw those up with untested BS for the sake of making them 'unique'.... -

If you think this is what a triumph looks like I'd have a bridge I'd like to sell you. -

Don't underestimate WG, they are a deceptively big and rich company. WoT is still a massively huge and succesful MMO. They are just as capable of pulling these debacles as any other big 'triple A' publisher. Because it is the same people that do the same jobs and upper management despite promises never does anything to actually shake up their business. For example the communication between regional offices and server parity that WG said they would improve? It is still as bad as ever. Nothing ever truly changes, it's just lip service to placate people. Not sure if Poe's law.... -
One thing of note that iChase posted under his video though: Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifjI-e8uXDs

That is the core of the issue: rushed to make a few bucks out of 'GC hype'. I sincerely hope that WG takes this seriously and does not make this attitude of 'release now, fix later' for new releases a standard practice. I think we all remember the German DDs launch. In the long term this is detrimental to the game and consumer trust. -

My source on the recall was Notser saying that he had contact with WG NA and that there was a mistake with a premature launch, which I was inclined to take as legit due to him being a CC and WG not issueing any other statements. Only today WG commented on the release so I edited it. The part on the AP bombs not working as advertised and the delay never having been tested is quite apparent though. And for that I find it only fair that I warn players to not buy it. -

It is not. Notser said that WG NA told him that it would be recalled, but now WG doubled down. I'll edit it in a bit. -

Of course the delay is too long/unbalanced, it wasn't even tested so they could push it out for GC. UI for it also doesn't work with no feedback, and the bombers technically only drop the moment that the bombs hit, not the 6 seconds before that when they supposedly drop them. -

I mean the people attending GC of course can't make a vid while they are there. -

No no, WG says it is finished. This is the intended experience. That you have no feedback, that it is not balance tested, that the entire ship is utter crap is all fine apparently and worthy of selling for 50 bucks without disclosure. Oh and she is not a WiP but we are going to add back the TBs that we said we wouldn't for no particular reason, honest. -

THE RIDE NEVER ENDS AP BOMBS WORKING AS INTENDED, EVEN THOUGH ST ADMITTED IT WAS NEVER PROPERLY TESTED (From asia forums) -

Verdius replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
What about the fact that even supertesters and CCs sayt that she shouldn't have been released in this state? The fact that even they call you out on rushing this abomination out because of gamescom without testing? When even STs tell that she wasn't near finished/tested. WHEN EVEN YOUR OWN NA BRANCH SAYS THAT IT NEEDED TO BE TESTED AND WASN"T READY. AP bombs is really skill dependant? Are you kidding me? The only skill that can make manual drop on AP bombs work is omniscience. You can't tell me that the delayed AP bomb interface or mechanic was tested.
