April fools animated captain and Arpeggio
MrFingers replied to Panocek's topic in General Discussion
IIRC, there won't be any crew on the ships, since that would raise the game rating to "mature". Doubt they will make an exception for anime. -

NA Wiki writing competition, why not merge it with the EU?
MrFingers posted a topic in General Discussion
On the NA-server, there will be a writing competition to further enlarge the wiki with new entries. Why don't we have such a thing for the EU-wiki? That thing is also written in English, so one can have two birds with one stone (a better wiki for both servers, and more (valuable) entries by broadening the audience that can write articles for it? There are plenty of very capable writers with supreme knowledge of the game here on the EU. Yes, one can modify the wiki at own leisure, but if you can get rewarded for it, it will be way more enticing to do so. Staff??- 1 reply

I'm AFK for the entire weekend, to the outside world (the graphics are nice, but the gameplay leaves lot to be desired for).

WALLET, STOP! GET BACK IN HERE! There's still too much month left at the end of my money. Next week however

I think the (unique) USS Wichita (CA-45) is a very viable and fitting Premium. It has the armament of the New Orleans, but paired with a modified Brooklyn-class hull. The last cruiser to be confined by the limitations of the London-treaty, she was the direct precursor to the Baltimore-class. (funky camo as well)
-
It will probably have that hideous "dynamic battle rating system", so I won't touch it with a bargepole.

That would mean that WG EU CM's (wow, much abbreviations, such clarity) will have to step up a notch, AND that WG EU has to be reorganised, with multiple, smaller, CM teams dedicated per game (as on the NA), instead of 1 large team of CM's that have to manage all WG titles and their respective forums.
-
Maybe it's because WG draws most from its feedback from the RU cluster, and on the RU they whine and moan about virtually everything (*too expensive*, *too weak*, *not patriottic enough*, *requirements are too harsh*,...). If it's neutral-to-well-received on the NA/EU/SEA cluster, but negative on the RU-cluster, chances are very big it will be classified as "negative" by WG.

While I have no doubts about the sincerity and fairness both WG and the ST's have, and from what I saw from the stream, some of the teams didn't even put on a fight... this does indeed have to potential to be perceived as fishy and as "clientism" by many, because of the total non-transparant way it was awarded (combined with the dream-team being quite full with WG staff, and the ST team being full of... yeah ST's ), it isn't too hard for anyone to think it might be rigged (not saying it is, just saying it can be perceived as such). Especially with now all ST's backing eachother with liking posts who speak in favour of the ST's. In the end, it's just a Tier III DD, but it's not the first time WG EU dorks something up with unthoughtful management.

Given how WG/Lesta likes to "recycle" stuff (Wickes-Campeltown, Benson-LoYang, Gnevny-Anshan), I wouldn't be too surprized to see the Metz appear ingame... which is the ex-SMS Koningsberg, of the painboat-class... erm Karlsruhe class. Or the Colmar (ex-Kolberg). However, I'd love to see the unique ships Ernest Renan and Jules Michelet. But it will be unlikely due to the not uniform main armament.
-
http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/special/sse-chariot/ It's nothing spectacular really, the Campeltown isn't there, and there is no special to get it. I've heard from a there was a technical hickup with the ship, and it got postponed 4/5 days (also the reason why he could not/was not allowed to upload his video for that occasion). Will that mean the "true" Chariot-special, and the jumping-through-hoops to get a chance to get the Campbeltown in our port will come next week(end)? (not that I'm complaining, MrsFingers has her birthday this weekend, so I'd be AFK all the weekend, and I would be a bit salty if I missed the window of opportunity to get the Cambeltown... So this kind of suits me actually).

Then again, it's quite a big ship (120mx13m, with a draught of nearly 4m), powered by twin 54000 shp turbines. The Gearing-class has 6000 shp more (per shaft, 12000 in total), for the same size, but 3/400t less displacement, and it goes at 36kts.

Unbundled Tirpitz, Warspite and Blyskawica now on sale!
MrFingers replied to Rybak1999's topic in Archive
I think they're very desired and desirable, but the downside of having to pay top-buck for a atrocious bundle with stuff you might not need/want did outweigh the benefit of having the ship in the first place. I know I'm one (I would gladly pay 35/40€ for the Warspite without any extras apart from a slot... But the forced additions made it very easy for me to decide I can do without a British ship for the time being. Ah well, their loss). -
British Daring-Class DD's were indeed rated at 30kts. Their Australian counterparts seem a bit quicker. HMAS Voyager (sistership of the Vampire) managed to squeeze out 33kts.

Q&A stream next week - send me your questions
MrFingers replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
They said they can't talk about stuff that's not scheduled for this year. British CA's and German BB's are known to come "somewhere in 2016" (BB's most likely late August), so maybe they chose not to say stuff everybody already is bound to know already? Australia was just a rumour before this, now with this news, it's getting a bit more substantial and more concrete. -
Q&A stream next week - send me your questions
MrFingers replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Nothing was said about anything British in the stream (then again, also nothing was said about German Battleships). They were very vague on this question, and only spoke about it for... maybe 20 seconds. -

MrFingers replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
Chrysantos PM'd me the original questions (in the format they were asked/presented to him), so I adjusted the post with those questions. The non-adjusted questions were questions coming from the twitch-chat or came up as the conversation was rolling along. They've lost the war (twice), therefore all German arguments are invalid... Or something like that. -
It's not as OP as the Russian tanks are in WoT. I can see the stats of the cruisers being readjusted to "hyper competitive".

Q&A stream next week - send me your questions
MrFingers replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
They never thoroughly answered it, only stuff like "swastika's will never be in the game" (which has nothing to do with the IGN flag, since there ain't a swastika on it), "it's illegal" (while it isn't... it's sensitive at worst, but not outlawed anywhere, contrary to the Hammer & Sickle),... Now we have an answer, and we know it's being considered. If the demand for it stays, chances are it will be in the game later on. -

I want the beard of Ectar as a Captain of the coming RN branch... Not Ectar, the beard, and just the beard. And a heavy Scottish accent -

Yes, one can copy-pasta the imperial flag and put it on all ships one desires, that's true, but we're talking here from a historical perspective (the Imperial Russian Navy getting their correct ensign, the Soviet Navy getting their ensign, but the Imperial German Navy not getting theirs). Modding the game-file will result in having all German ships having the one flag, or another. There is no distinction possible between ships that flew them, and ships that didn't. This irks more players than one might think, and has to be considered an issue with the game. It's not that you find it a minor issue, which isn't worthy of attention, that everybody needs to find that. Are there other issues with the game? Most likely. Should they have been adressed in the Q&A: maybe. But these were the questions, maybe they'll be addressed next round. @MrConway... IIRC, there is only one ensign with the Swastika (the last one), before that, none have that symbol. In WW1, the Germans did not fly the Swastika. -

Guess my regular exercise of "taking notes during management meetings" finally paid of . It was quite challenging, with questions coming very fast one after another, and the mic's of Tuccy & Conway not that loud and clear. Tuccy, Conway: if you see any errors in my transcription, please feel free to adjust them. I tried to write it down the best I could, but sometimes it was a bit confusing ("Is he talking about the game he's playing, or the question, and who's talking now?") -

I had to be quick in chat, could just type "what about Imperial German Flag", I was busy transcribing the previous question when they said they'd be gone in 15 minutes. Maybe shoot a PM to MrConway with what you want to ask?
