Apart from getting constantly thrown into Tier VIII battles, the lowered Warspite became more enjoyable. Still takes damage, but it's manageable.

I'm sitting on a nearly 3-month hiatus (GNB killed my WoWS-incentive for me), with me already having a Cleveland, I assume I'm not entitled a Texas anymore, am I?

All very nice news to hear. Let's hope it all works out like it is planned to work.

I like the additional info they deliver.

How is it possible that an captain XP multiplier DOES work on the NA & RU server (albeit an X2 or X3 event). That means that the system can handle such a thing. Or does the EU use a whole different technique (unlikely), or does the system have issues with a decimal (plausible), or is there another reason?

Mikasa to be given away via ingame missions on the NA-server.

http://worldofwarships.com/en/content/docs/event-preview/ meanwhile in the EU: vague spotlight specials and a whopping X2 ar the end of the month. -
It's not like that the Russian Cruisers were that well received by them...

I always was a strong advocate of "comparable treatment between servers", and I will keep doing so. That means that I have to keep looking at other servers, and sorry to bother you that I noticed (again) that there are huge discrepancies between what is offered on the NA & RU server, and what is offered on the EU and SEA server. -
Its that time of the year again! Gamescom 2016

Instead of the x2 XP-for the first win, we'll get an x2.1 -
That can be dangerous... I know a lot of players who bought a period of premium time and some flags to grind some commander XP (I didn't, because I knew I was away that weekend, but I would have bought it too if I weren't). You announce that a x2.5 event is happening, and saying that it's a good time to rank up your captains, enticing/luring players into buying premium/flags to increase the rewards... Then it all falls through, and then you say: "ah, but... no, we will not compensate for what you have bought, even if it was especially for this event". By having this stance towards your community (who isn't that content with how WG-EU are managing things to start with), this has the potential to have a nasty reaction.

What the game needs is a company structure like WG-NA has: Community Teams dedicated to a game, that only need to worry about that game. It's been proven time & time again that the EU-way (1 big team that splits their time/attention over the multiple games) is inferior to the NA-way.

The Old ribbons were classy and reminiscent of the old chest patches officers wear. The new ones look like they've hired a kindergarten to design it.

ShipComrade's 1 Year Anniversary EU Giveaway

Can't watch the stream due to moving, but I appreciate the generosity! -
On the NA, it seems to work: http://worldofwarships.com/en/news/common/defeat-fog-fleet/ Oh, and it did not need an unlock via the GNB, they just get it, without any effort.

To add a little salt to the injury. In a not related event to GNB, the RU-server got 3 free portslots with their "Battle of the Philippines Sea" ingame missions, "in order to prepare them for the upcoming German BB's). Would be nice if the EU would be able to prepare some captains or so... I don't know, with an increased captain XP event or something like that?
-
There isn't. The 15M goal was there for technical reasons (the event did shut down the moment the 12M was reached). The marvelous GNB secret was that there was not a reward. The prizes were the stuff you could buy with the diamonds you earned.

There is a difference between criticising/scrutinising decisions WG-EU made (and the CM's were just the executioners of) and personal attacks on the CM's for being a CM. While I strongly opposed some of the things WG-EU did in the past (and present), I had, and still have, a profound respect and faith for/in the CM's, and I know that some of the more unpopular decisions were not made by guys like you, but by people higher up the echelon of whom we have no idea who they are, what they look like and what the hell they were thinking that moment. Yet the CM's have to take the brunt of the impact & malcontent, and I have to say: you have managed that exceedingly well. So it's indeed a bit of a sad farewell (although I know the remaining CM's are as capable as you are), since you were the most worthy "adversary" for us, the vocal & critic EU forumites, and was seen a bit as "Mister Wargaming EU" by the veterans of WG, since you were around for quite a long time. And adversary is not the correct word, since we all want the same thing, which is seeing WoWS succeed, but the interests of both parties were sometimes 180° different from eachother, which sometimes rustled some feathers and resulted in some grunting. Either way, it's sad to see you go (because you were a most capable CM, and because I hope that this (temporarily) reduced manpower at WG-EU does not mean we'll slide back to the dark ages like 2015, with the EU-playerbase being totally neglected compared to other servers in terms of information, specials, contests, equality,...). I can't make it to Tankfest this year, but if I could, I would have totally bought you a beer (no not really... I would have brought my own beer, everybody knows Belgian beer is love, Belgian beer is life!) And that Armoured Warfare-thingy, it was just a spur of the moment, because there was someone who ran an influential blog about wargames, that got offered a position by AW a while ago.

I wonder if there will be an interest applied to the event. Per week of delay, a day extra in the event, or 0.5XP extra.

Why don't ships fire torpedoes from the front ?
MrFingers replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in General Discussion
There were plenty of ships that fired torpedoes from the bow/stern and even sides in fixed torpedo tubes (you didn't aim the tubes, you aimed the ship). WG decided for gameplay reasons not to include those tubes. bogatyr, with a forward firing surface mounted tube. -
I would find it somewhat funny that he was bought-out by Armoured Warfare.

Don't forget... it's not the first time this happened: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/36876-free-redeem-code/page__st__40__pid__688564#entry688564 Last november, random mails were sent to "inactive" accounts, for a Diana. -
And she sails deliberately and stubborn on the left side of the shipping channels.
-
Sad to see you go (despite you not being active in WoWS the last months), I just hope that this will not have an impact in the EU CM input (quality and quantity). The last thing the community needs is slipping back to the dark ages of non-information and input from 2015.

Project R. The original concept was that 2000 Kamikaze's would be raffled (1000 on the NA) to all players who got the required amount of pearls (same concept as GNB in terms of earning them, but way less grindy). The SEA and RU-server however had a guaranteed reward: reach the milestone, get the ship. The defecationtyphoon that ensued on the NA & EU was of such biblical proportion, that WG relented, and gave the NA & EU also the guaranteed price. To give you an idea, the chances of winning the ship would be in the order of magnitude of a few percents. -
With the British having tons of material, I hope we'll see a "dedicated" branch from the beginning, not something that switches over from Armoured to Light to Heavy. Just a branch of Light or Heavy from the start, or with just one transition. Anyway, Ze Germans first, vee shall zee vath dzey vill bring dzo dze table!
