What the H...? Only Base Experience counts now?
MrFingers replied to RedStorm1's topic in General Discussion
It always was like that IIRC (I know for sure that with Project R it was like that). -
Maybe the British will get it as default, and other nations as an "upgrade" or as some sort of skill that needs to be acquired.

Shht, according to some of the Supertesters, it's absolutely forbidden to ask about stuff WG should do for the Englishspeaking EU playerbase and what the Community Managers are currently up to. I've made the terrible and huge mistake of recently pointing something out that was mildly critical and I had to endure the full and undivided fury of their wrath. A wrath with an intensity comparable to

Today on Reddit I saw that WG-NA is giving out a commemorative flag for the "Burning Man"-festival, and that flag can be earned by doing a dirt-easy mission. This is not the first time NA gives out commemorative flags outside the known way of "buying the most expensive ship bundle (Scharnhorst, Jutland,...)". In May they also had a fairly easy set of missions to earn the "Military Month Flag", a flag that also gives a 5% increase in XP, Credits and Captain XP. The EU (as does the SEA) does not know such a thing. Wouldn't it be a good idea to make it possible to earn flags with ingame missions, instead of hiding them behind a huge paywall?) Will the EU also get a flag in the (near) future that gives a small bonus like the "Military Month Flag"? I know the Alpha-testers flag gives that benefit, but that can't be earned by every player, only the lucky chosen few that were drawn into Alpha-Testing. Every NA-player that I know earned that Military Month flag, and flies it constantly from every ship they drag into battle. The 5% does not give an unfair advantage, but is still noticable (1000XP becomes 1050XP, 100000 credits become 105000 credits) and valuable in the long run.

A way for [EU]-players to earn commemorative flags without having to resort to buying bundles. Like the NA has?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
why should, according to you, one entire server population be "entitled" a possibility to earn a flag-with-benefits, and another one only if you provide a "return service for WG"? Or one server that can earn flags (decorative) via missions or to be bought as a virtual standalone, and another server only if one purchases a bundle worth 80€? -
Anticipation for a ship branch does not confine itself to nation borders and specific countries. I think plenty of German players are awaiting the Royal Navy as well, just to the same degree that British players have anticipated the German ships. From the gauging of reactions on all things WoWS (fora, message boards,...) the Royal Navy is the No. 1 hype.
-
That number is probably going through the roof when the Royal Navy is rattling the walls in fifty-or-so days. Now let's hope that the rest (and you all know what I mean with that) will also increase for the red-headed stepchild EU-region.

MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I have written that unclear. It's not about the alpha-testers flag, it's a (another) flag that gives the same benefits, like the Alpha-testers flag (on all servers) and the "Military Month"-flag on the NA. -
So, our Community Managers? Did SerB eat them -or at least their hands used for typing- all for breakfast?

With the recent parting of ways by Ectar and Brynd, the EN CM's are down to Tuccy, Mr.Conway, Ph3lan and Cynd3r, IIRC... A quick scan learns me: Mr.Conway: Last Active Aug 12 2016 02:28 PM Last Post-with-actual content: 29 July 2016 - 05:32 PM No announcement of why he is gone. Cynd3r: Last Active Aug 12 2016 02:28 PM Last Post-with-actual content: 29 July 2016 - 04:12 PM No announcement of why she is gone. Ph3lan: Last Active Aug 24 2016, 06:48 PM Last Post-with-actual content: 07 August 2016 - 11:25 AM He announced on his profile he was off to Gamescom, and AFK until 24/8) Tuccy: Last Active Today, 01:35 PM Last Post-with-actual content: Aug 24 2016 - 01:36 PM no announcement needed So, where is everybody? The last true CM-post in the EN-forums (as in: announcement, news,... not a reaction or slowchat in a non-critical topic) dates back from well before the release of the Scharnhorst. So no 0.5.10 posts, no dedicated topics about bugs, suggestions, reception,... nothing about the upcoming RN-cruisers, gamescom,... Something amiss in Paris? -

In this thread? Strange, for I can't find it. And his post-feed (which I checked because I wanted to be certain (always check your sources, a wise man once said to me)) that post did not show up either. The only reply I know off is a reply on Reddit by someone from WG-NA who said (again) that this is the situation for now, and there are 2 big camps in WG: one pro unifications (with several "senior members"), and another one against it. -

Nice try at derailing the topic which was created with the sole purpose of wondering where the English-speaking CM's where, after noticing a near-total radio silence regarding constructive posting, where other language departments remained active (oh: and it's not that hard to see when they were active: just click on their name and it's right there at the top of the page). The game went to a new version, yet no feedback topic was opened for it on the EN-forums (they were on the other language forums, and it was done for previous versions with a vast quantity of feedback being posted), a whole new, highly anticipated branch of ships was introduced: not a single word by WG-staff was said on it on the EN-forums,... Quite a lot of "news" became public regarding Q&A's, including some controversial content like the non-unification of gold, and yet again: not a single acknowledgement by WG-staff. And the players should just be okay with weeks of non-information, and being scolded because they search for info on other sites (like Reddit) because the official forums don't give any insight in crucial info? And did I let me out negatively about Brynd or Ectar? I just said they weren't here anymore. -

Because I set them to private when the XVM-esque websites for WoWS started to appear and I did not fancy stat-analysing players on either team to decide who to focus first or to throw a match "because the numbers are not in our favour". And it will stay that way. May I decide that for myself, your purple highness? Btw, playing now is a bit hard when seated on a train, with a smartphone and a 3G connection that sometimes cuts out. -

MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in Archive
Oh, I do play the game, No worries about that. Maybe not as frequent as I might like, or as frequent as some deem necessary (then again: who are they to decide), but the daily missions are being fulfilled at a comfortable pace for me, and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Royal Navy. I had a hiatus a while back because of workload and no interesting ships (for me) to grind out, but that was a year ago. But there are only 24hrs in a day, and also a life away from the keyboard. And If that means that my opinions/questions are for some of the "elitist-crowd" automatically became invalid because of that superficial reason: tough luck, that's their problem, not mine. Idem for the rustled jimmies that might cause. So the CM's are here to like posts that are just here in an attempt to bash a "critical voice", but not to answer important topics like the Q&A's from Gamescom, 0.5.10, German Battleships,... Okay, that explains a lot. -

No gold unification forthcoming -- its official

The CM's fed that hype when questions about "the final GNB"-reward were met with a "wait and see, you'll not be dissapointed"-kind of answers. -

you can't buy progress in the game. You still need to grind experience in order to convert it to free XP, and it costs tons of gold and experience to convert your way to Tier X. Your argument is void. -

MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in Archive
The salt is strong with this Anyway, all I meant is that... they're our CM's, yet no-one is here to manage the community, the entire EN forums seems to be somewhat self-regulating (which is a good thing), but very essential WG-stuff (like patchnotes, updates,...) are not posted on the EN-forums, while they are at the other languages (even the Czech-forum is bursting (as per WG standards) with CM activity). Isn't that the task of CM's, to be active on the forums, as per their job description? (The reason I post this, is that I don't want the EU-forums to become the dark hellhole of non-information as it was last year around this time, when absolutely nothing was posted, and players had to gather their info themselves on other fora, reddit,...) -
