They were turned into credits when 0.7.8 was rolled out on Thursday. So yes, you had only 1 day to spend them, but this was announced in advance.

The new "filter" options are garbage - as you come to expect from WG.
MrFingers replied to havaduck's topic in General Discussion
It’s a policy. I remember from a Q&A that sub_octavian basically said: “well, if you want to enjoy the bonuses, you have to look at them well, be damned your immersion”. Which IMHO is not the right way. The game nowadays barely caters the fans of historical stuff, having an option to see the game in a more historical way without screwing one over in terms of economic benefits should already have been implemented for years now. All those “reskins” (because they’re not camo’s with such drastically altered models), and those silly camo’s like valentines, la phadragh, American star/flag,... should be retextured to plain grey. If I wanted to see a warship in silly colours, I’d print out a plan and give it to my godchild together with some pencil crayons and tell her to entertain herself an afternoon. -
Can naval ensigns on German ships be historically correct like they are on Russian ships?

why do soo many very experienced players feel the need to be a tier 1 seal clubber?
MrFingers replied to Honda_NSX_R's topic in General Discussion
Brand new players get their own "protected" environment, where they'll only meet other new players. After a number of battles, they are considered "experienced enough", and join the general population of the game. Also, playing T1 is fun: the chaos, the fast pacing and the total lack of strategy makes for interesting matches. It's more fun than high-tier gameplay for sure! -
Rotation needed for tier requirements in events( Why is everything T-X??)
MrFingers replied to hgbn_dk's topic in General Discussion
Trouble with GoNavy was that it emphasised high-tier gameplay (again). The biggest rewards were for high-tier ships, since they got more points for the same actions. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
MrFingers replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
RNG was at my side yesterday. Should have been 7 kills, as I was nailing a Mogami (broadside) for the final 1.3k health, but the timer reached 1000 just before my shells hit (flighttime was 5 seconds, game ended 4.5 seconds later). Poor Ranger, I saw him fleeing at 23 kms away from me, so a semi-aimed shot before he faded away landed me a citadel and 4 overpens. I put him out of his misery a few minutes later. -
In the announcement for 0.7.8, it stated that Ranked battles will return. However there are some tweaks to it. Ranked is now T8 until R16, and T10 from R15 upwards. So again basically a T10-exclusive gamemode. The previous seasons one could at least reach halfway before hitting the seemingly inevitable T10 wall, but now the bar has been lowered and all but the most junior ranks are now T10. If you played well during last season, you'll get a headstart so big it will set you firmly in the T10 regions. And then: Clan Battles: T10 exclusive Go Navy Event: T5-10, but to make the most out of it, play the highest tiers you have, so again biased at T9-10 ships Campaigns: T8+, some missions T9+. Except for the small campaign aimed at novice players Supercontainers being given out at the anniversary per T10 ship you own (for the previous years that was the case, not yet known for this year). That means the PvE operations at T6 and T7 and that one small campaign is all there is for mid-tier stuff to do. You can play randoms just for the sake of it or to level your ship or captain on the way to T10, but once that's done, there is little to no incentive to go back down the tiers to play there, except the promise of a "less than stale" gameplay. I understand WG wants to entice people to play high-tier ships, but not everyone enjoys that gameplay, nor has the desire to own T10 ships. T8 became the punching ball for T10's to drop their dung on, where almost everything outruns, outguns & outspots you, and T9 & 10 gameplay are more often than not long-range campfests where radar & hydro is being reciprocated from one side of the island to the other one. When ranked was T8, at least you could play your T8 ships without being uptiered more than half of the time. So please WG, can we have some stuff for T5/6-8 as well? Doesn't need to give spectacular rewards, just "something like T8+ gets to enjoy for years now, but scaled for T5 or T6 to T8".

Real life intervened, so stuck at a 68 loyalty. Shame, could have used those 9000 coal when reaching 75 loyalty.

So, how about some love for the middle tiers?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
In my case, to get a ship I can use in the campaigns. That's it. Not that I enjoy doing those campaigns right now. -
Thanks to WG for GO NAVY! event!

Thanks to WG for GO NAVY! event!
MrFingers replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in General Discussion
The missions were a nice way to get some extra points, but... my god where they frustrating. They might be "randomly assigned", but quite often I found them to assign at the polar opposites. "Earn at least 3 defended ribbons", game is standard mode " Score at least 50 secondary battery hits", triggered by a ship without any noticable secondaries " Earn at least 50 ribbons", triggered by a ship that has a slow ROF & little AA/secondaries .... -
It's going to be SO immensely fun to play (and try to level) a T8 ship once 0.7.8 goes live.

Get Rid of the Kamikaze ships - those OP ships chase away NEW PLAYERS(!)
MrFingers replied to Yaskaraxx's topic in Off-Topic
There aren't all those Kamikaze's. I play almost exclusively in the T5-7 bracket (so T4-T9 ships in my battles), and the Kamikaze is not that frequent of an occurrence in my battles. A decently played Minekaze is equally as dangerous btw. Thanks for the heads-up btw, I should play mine again, it's been some months. -
New "More resources" container type - have you guys possibly switched the preference of your container acquisition?
MrFingers replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I'm drowning in signals and credits, FXP I don't touch, and supercontainers are (too) rare of an occurrence for me anyhow, so I've abandoned TYL, and resorted to Resources as well. Will get the Musashi via coal and the coupon that way. -
Sooo, what's it like today?

It's not that hard. Have a known name and a reputation for being critical, so you're under a more intense scrutiny... and then colour even one nanometer outside of the lines. I know I got banned for 1 week for (clearly jokingly) posting "will the Italians have "switch side" as national gimmick", in a non-serious thread. That joke got reused every few weeks, and AFAIK, I was the only one actually banned for it. But those where the days where I was actively hammering WG-EU for their sheer incompetence back then (which gave me some more bans, they didn't like (f)actual numbers back then that proved their incompetence & worse treatment of the EU compared to other regions)... Things have gotten way better since a year or so.

The Imperial German naval flag, does it have a place in WoWS?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
You are correct, I was editing the post, but you were too fast. However, this thread is not about the 3rd reich ensigns (although I personally wouldn't be bothered with those), but about the IGN-ensign. WG basically said "it's too politically sensitive in certain countries (read: Germany), that's why we won't include that ensign either, despite not being outlawed". That argument goes somewhat square out of the window now the ban has de-facto been lifted (or at least greatly loosened).- 288 replies

MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Mega thread-necro. Germany has lifted the ban on Nazi-symbols (including the swastika) in games, by reclassing games as "Art" (which do not fall under the censorship rules). This opens a door for the introduction of proper German symbols, whether it be Imperial or 3rd Reich. The latter I think will be implausible, but the former... The USK (the German organisation that controls that stuff) doesn't give a total permission. Producers of video-games have to present the games to the USK, which will, on a one-by-one basis, verify if the inclusion of those symbols is "socially acceptable". http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/416417-germany-lifts-ban-on-swastikas-in-video-games- 288 replies

T-61 finally coming - and get it a week early!

Yeah, no... not going to happen. -
I don't own the Missouri (nor do I have the desire to do so), and I'm sitting comfortably at 173M credits, steadily piling up. On Standard Account.

I'm only interested if I can have Dasha in a loveseat, and a big bag of popcorn. Not for snuggles or bad manners, but to improve my Russian (in a hush voice). (and someone to distract MrsFingers for those few hours)
