Meanwhile at the office...

There was never a free Gallant in the first place. An Aigle there was, which is of no use in this marathon.

Did you get any British DD-missions from the containers?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
@The_Wallet_Warrior1000£. Username checks out. Just had the Jervis-mission drop from the final crate of this stage. So after grinding 14k BXP I can complete all missions for crates if I so desire. I consider myself lucky, but it doesn't give me a "sense of accomplishment" in the slightest. -
Being more lucky with cratedrops than you currently are. If you don't get the drops, you can't finish the mission. Or you can buy the T8 Premium DD Cossack.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
MrFingers replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, not much better here, despite a constant "quality" in performance from my side. Just needed to grind the credits for the British DD missions, so I'm not bothering any further today (or tomorrow). -
I don't think it's a chatban, but an account ban (not being able to play). And it's not RadarX who is the culprit, but a staffmember called "Gneisenau".

Had @Ferry_25 on my team today. Some poor Gearing & Seattle players made it a swift defeat though. -
Got mine today via coal+coupon. Boy o boy, is that ship FILTHY when it is thrown in a non T10 match, especially when there is no carrier around.
-
How long does that offer last? Until 0.7.12?

How many anniversary-events did you guys all participated in? 1 year and 364 days is technically not 2 years. So... I've got the 3-year patch.

You almost had a good event WG, almost...
MrFingers replied to ColdWarFish's topic in General Discussion
That's my biggest gripe. Not necessarily for getting a chance at the missions, but also for gaining oil for the clan. -
Still true to the spirit of the original operation, and tweaked accordingly to allow for T6/7 DD's. It's now one of the harder operations I've played, and it basically requires a Sims in your team to have a remote guarantee on success (those planes are more devastating than artillery in WoT). Aigle & Gallant do lack in the AA department, even when you spec into them, so it's US DD's galore.

With that difference that you could do the DoY-specific-missions retroactively. With this: "after this week, they're gone". And that's bad. -
From the 5 you see (Target in sight, I see the enemy, Qualified Scout,...), you have to complete any 3, and then the shield with "II" unlocks.

IIRC, you can do it with every British T5+ DD. I happen to have the Gallant, but the mission for the Acasta already dropped, so not much an edge.
-
The fact that those are missions that you don't have to sign in for in advance, and that they don't take up spaces for campaign missions is a HUGE plus. Apart from that: enjoyable content!

On the portal it says: "server down from 5UTC to 8UTC", so from 7AM to 10AM. Give it 20 minutes.

The boxes that are banned* here in Belgium are boxes like that, where you "get your money's worth guaranteed, but with a chance to get rare items". So that will include Halloween/Xmas boxes for WoWS. (*only if the company doesn't want to adhere to the rules regarding gambling that is, which means: checking age, don't promote it to minors and have a gambling license. If a company adheres to those (simple & fair) rules, there isn't an issue for lootboxes. Big companies like EA, 2K,... are convinced they are above the law, so they are now in the process of being prosecuted).

First and foremost: for it being a first iteration of such an event, it was pretty well thought out and worked as it should have worked. I hope WG will further expand on this event, and make it a semi-recurring thing in the future. Some remarks I have though: Time zone advantage: The issue with the time zones is that the clan who is located more westward is at a clear advantage. They can freewheel a bit and observe what the other clan is doing, and then match their efforts with that of the opponent and do "one more", when the opponent is logging off for the day and can't defend their lead unless they wake up at 4AM in the morning to squeeze in a final few games. For EU vs RU duels it wasn't as much of an issue due to the relative proximity of the populations, but NA clans were at an advantage against EU clans. EU was at an advantage to ASIA. This could be remedied by making the progress "blind" to eachother, so one clan doesn't know how the other clan is doing in terms of stars, or only give "star brackets" to at least obscure the score a bit. External website: good for a first edition, but I'd rather see WG hosting this on their own turf. There were issues with stars disappearing, people getting more than 15 stars, rumours of hacking,... By having it hosted by WG, it is guaranteed to be as neutral as can be. A mere damage-focussed method meant that some players actively abandoned teamplay in order to farm their stars. This is bad design, and needs to be adjusted. Nothing wrong with using damage, but "and win" should give a bonus, in order to entice people to play to their best, instead of farming damage and abandoning the objective of the match. Relatively short windows of interaction. There were only 48hrs during which stars could be farmed, and not everyone can be present during those 2 days. Having that extended to 72 or 96 hours would open the event up to more people.

From the 079 patchnotes 0.7.9 Patchnotes stated this: High School Fleet Due to the termination of the contract with the copyright holder, the High School Fleet camouflage for Musashi and Harekaze is to be removed from the game. This, however, does not affect items that are currently on the players' accounts. In addition, if the account has an incomplete HSF collection, it still can be completed, which will get you a camouflage for battleship Yamato. If you still wanna buy a camoflauge from HSF do it now. In other words: Caps won't come again into the Prem Shop and HSF Harekaze will most probably never get into the Prem shop again. Except maybe as a renamed copy like the three Kamikaze sisters. This is though kinda questionable... People that own that stuff won't loose anything btw.
