Developer Bulletin 0.7.12 - Discussion Thread
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
That's a relief and reassuring, knowing that one can catch up! Thanks for letting us know! -
I'm not buying it, although I liked the Trollorado, but the weird camo, an allegedly ridiculous horn,... I'll pass... I have to admit that "Dusty Rhodes" is a great pun for a commander-name though!

December’s Combat Missions - Discussion Thread
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
So it is indeed 20 days of at least 6 battles/day with a 75% WR to get HMS Dreadnought? Yeah, tough luck, not going to happen! -
Random containers are random!

The Beta-patch (which was also announced in the patchnotes) was credited to my account only today. I assume it requires a bit more manual work than one would anticipate. I agree on the lack of information though.

Developer Bulletin 0.7.12 - Discussion Thread
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I sincerely hope the same. But I assume that the devs are not completely out of touch and didn't go full WoT, and they will use the same principle of last year, but only in the "directives"-form, and not the "campaign"-form. So 5 weeks of an event, 4 directives. 1 directive runs for 5 weeks, the following for 4 weeks,... If you miss the first week, you can still pick in and do the missions of the first week's directive in the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th or 5th) week. If that's the case, it's actually a QOL-increase, since you now don't need to cancel grindy tasks of your permanent campaigns to replace them by the temporary missions from the NY-campaign. @MrConway? -
Developer Bulletin 0.7.12 - Discussion Thread

Will never happen sadly enough. WG already has your money, why would they offer something additional in exchange for that, you'd better pay up a second time. -
Next Ranked Sprint at Tier 6, it seems.
MrFingers replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
T6, the last tier not infested with OP Premiums/techtree ships, and the last tier to be rather balanced. Sure, the BB's tend to be slow and are being outrun by their support cruisers & DD's, but on small(er) maps it doesn't matter that much. Looking forward to it! -

My reception on the end-of-year content will depend on the time-gating, and the (in)ability to catch up if one misses a directive. -
Steel for money, steel from campaign, steel everywhere
MrFingers replied to FeelTheseTorps's topic in General Discussion
They could have made it so simple: "make it available for coal as well". Initial steel, and then after a period has passed, a parallel price for coal, or FXP. But that was too easy I guess. -
Gradual Transition to 64-bit Systems and DirectX 10.1 - Discussion Thread

What? You mean I can buy food in the shops? Instead of hunting cows? Thanks for the Ryzen tip! -
Gradual Transition to 64-bit Systems and DirectX 10.1 - Discussion Thread
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Now if my HP from 2008 would finally want to start dying, then I can upgrade to a better potato (this one DX11 compatible and 64bit, so I don't need to worry). I'm surprised it still works flawlessly after 10+ years of daily use, it being a HP. -
Sooooo Armada - 67 Ships for around €550 - Anyone interested???
MrFingers replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
It also makes your port UI very laggy for quite some time... -

While the rewards for the collection are a bit so-so (permacamo for the Lightning is nice, since I don't have it, but I can understand it's annoying for those who already ground past it, or have the Cossack), the fact that it's permanent, available via dialy containers and doused in historical stuff is a huge plus. I can't wait to have more of such collections. The contents of the containers (premium & standard) are also meh. The paid ones are ridiculous, especially for the money asked. The standard ones are of the "ah, 10 oil for the clan"-type, because I'm not jumping from joy from 1 special flag and 1 camo. The containers of the American Cruiser Collection (with the 400 coal), those were decent containers, actually worth pursuing. Not for the odd chance of a mission, but for the guaranteed contents. The ability to mount 2 flags is also a bit redundant if you're not playing on NA and don't have the Military Month flag, or any other flag that gives economy bonusses like the Alpha-flag, but it means I can now go full "stiff upper lip".

Tier 8 MM after the change. Poll included.
MrFingers replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
No noticable improvement. The percentage of T-10 battles still hovers around 50% for me. Added downside, when I now encounter a T-10 battle, it's filled to the brim with T10's, not just 2 or 3, but 7+. -
That was a raffle. You didn't need to pay in order to participate. As a Belgian, I'm glad to see the crates gone where I live. It's not that gaming companies can't introduce lootboxes, but they are considered gambling if they have these 4 points: It has to have a gaming-part. It has to have a clear wage. It has to have a chance to win or lose. It has to have a random factor. Which is the case for the Black Friday lootboxes (chance of getting a ship, pay a wage per container,...). It's not that gambling is illegal in Belgium, because it isn't, even online gambling is legal. But since lootcrates are considered gambling, they fall under the Belgian laws regarding gambling, which includes: "don't offer it to minors, don't promote it to minors, the organiser needs a license,...". WG could have easily complied by adding an age-check and requesting a license. But they didn't. That's why the Belgian "Kansspelcommissie" was notified, and probably sent an ultimatum to WG. WG chose to pull the crates, as that was very likely easier/cheaper than being compliant. Belgium isn't a big market after all. But that might all change if other countries join this wagon. There already has been made a statement by 14 countries + Washington DC that they're going to work together to regulate, and ban if needed, lootcrates.

Black Friday Missions, 50k BASE XP
MrFingers replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in General Discussion
IIRC, it can never exceed the regular XP. I tried it with "every XP modifier flag I could find" + Type59 camo. -
Black Friday in World of Warships: Huge Discounts! - Discussion Thread
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
They are 2 separate ships, so you'll have 2 Massachusetts's, one normal with the blue/grey camo, and one completely black. You can do the mission for 10x250 doubloons by playing the regular Massa, and that's it. -
Black Friday Missions, 50k BASE XP
MrFingers replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in General Discussion
Could be worse... could be a cosmetic flag of the "Free French" which you'd get a week later for playing 1 battle. (yes, that actually happened) -
The T8 matchmaker... Instead of being brutally violated in all orifices, now at least we get a little ointment for the pain, but the violation continues. It's still (too) brutal.
-
There's no arguing to that!
-
On NA that was the case in 2016. EU never got Black Friday stuff until last year, and never at -50%.
-
No more crates available for purchase for me... Which is actually quite excellent, given the decline in "bang4buck" they gave...
