  1. @Crysantos, any idea why the drops are so erratic on EU compared to NA? I know it has to do with chance, but getting days without a single drop whereas NA get regular drops is a bit peculiar. I didn't get any (regular, space, super) drop since Monday, which has never happened before.
  2. EU players aren't being shafted anymore with ridiculous mission requirements for measly (or non-existing) rewards. And EU players get access to all the missions the other regions get as well. Apart from that... Nihilan listed them already.
  3. I like the style of the video, but then again, the WG-video team is REALLY good in their field, often delivering cinema-worthy shortfilms. But calling it "The Honor and Glory of the Soviet Navy" for a branch of ships that, bar one, never left the slipway or even the pencil-stage is... yeah... ironically fitting for a surface-fleet that is "known" for not doing a lot except for blundering into minefields.

    CV Rework Discussion

I got a free Enterprise, so that means I didn't have to suffer through T4 (which is REALLY unfun to play), instead getting a T8 with a noticable strike & reserve... ... It is still as unfun as T4 is. I'm not getting it. It looks nice, but it's boring.

    Premium Aircraft Carriers—They're All Here!

The reason it doesn't count is because there are only premiums in said branch, thus making it a bit P2W (if you have the premium, you can tick off the stars, if the other clan hasn't, they can't catch up). Same for the French DD's or PA Cruisers.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

This fell out of the free "Daily Shipments" Aviation container (the standard one) today. I've played a whopping 2 carrier games in Co-Op... This is going to be interesting!

    Intergalactic Games: Torpedo Beat

I pity that actual development effort has been put into this... Not a lot by the looks of it, but still too much.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]

First (!!!) supercontainer of 2019, despite having played almost daily. Not from the regular daily containers, but from the special Twitch-thing that was going on. 15k Coal, which lifted me to 171.400 coal... And now to 400 coal and a Jean Bart that still has that new-ship-smell. Haven't taken it out yet, because still burnt out from the Exeter-disaster.
  9. Yeah, with an abudance of available portslots, I'm not going to spend doubloons on more slots. I know this is an interface/engine limitation, but still, shouldn't be the case.

All ships in new "Armory"... :-)

The (unintentional) forced “bundle” with slot+capt is what is refraining me from buying any more doubloon-ships at the moment. also, where are the times of substantial discounts on doubloon-premiums... -50% on T2-5, -30% on T6-7, -15% on T8... in 2017 those happened weekly.
  11. Something I was wondering. Some players may have amassed quite a fleet of premiums already, all fighting for their fair share of attention. So I was wondering, which premium ships (gifted, rewards, bought) do not see any action at all, or only extremely rarely, despite being in your port for quite some time? I'll kick off, I'll split it in 2 groups, T2-T4, and T5-10. T2-4: In general I don't use them because of the low credit income and that they can't be used for missions (WG: please address stuff like this, make more low-tier content!). All with single-digit battles played. Notable mentions for Varyag, Albany & Diana for being very underwhelming ships. Tachibana: gotten for free from a WG contest: T2 gunboat, nice ship, but T2. Not a dedicated clubber Tachibana Lima: gotten for free from a mission: I already have the normally coloured Lima: Smith: gotten for free from a mission: meh, T2 ship. Not a bad thing, with the absurd reload on the torps. But still: T2 Albany: gotten for free back at the end of CBT: underwhelming! Diana: gotten for free from a WG contest: underwhelming! Varyag: gotten for free from a mission: underwhelming! Emden: gotten for free from a marathon: memeworthy ship, but T2 Campbeltown: gotten for free from a mission: potential, but with a 2-gun broadside and only 3 torps (which hit like a train), a hard ship to master. I don't have the patience. Also T3... Vampire: gotten for free from a marathon: idem als Campbeltown. Yubari: spent some coal on it because "why not". Memeworthy with the insane accuracy and Defensive AA. Then CV rework happened. (I do have the König Albert (free doubloons) and Arkansas Beta which did see some use, but then again: not valid for missions, so their attractions are neutered!) T5-10: I'm not the best gunboat or cruiser player, so they see little use. Sad, because maybe I should give them a try: Marblehead: gotten for free from the Lootboy-codes. Underwhelming Omaha-iteration, and given the dire T5 matchmaker, it's masochism taking one out Texas: bought during the fundraiser for the real Texas. Again harsh matchmaker + carriers knowing they should avoid it. Now nowhere an AA powerhouse it used to be. OktoRev: gotten for free in the marathon. Handy to have a Russian premium that makes some money. Strong ship, but I can't get it to work. Also T5 matchmaking Mutsu: gotten in a free santa-container. Ultimate glass-cannon, and my go-to Japanese BB trainer. Redundant since having Musashi & Yamamoto. Pity really, I liked that ship. Warspite: did see A LOT of action as it was my first premium ships I bought. Now mothballed due to having Nelson, which is easy-mode. A pity really. Shinonome: reward from campaign: find it hard to master, and is a tad underwhelming tbh. Also having KamiR, I have a go-to ship for torpedo-missions Graf Spee: reward from campaign: hard-hitting hybrid, but hard to master, and easily punishable. Also a bit redundant with Scharnhorst in the ranks. P.E. Friedrich: reward from campaign. Haven't touched it since the end of the NY-campaign. Underwhelming battlecruiser with fictitious stuff bolted to it: no interest in playing it. Would have been different in a 1918-refit Aigle: reward from campaign: find it very hard to use. Did see some Co-Op action, but can't get it to work -> shelved. Hood: gift from WG (thanks for that!). Nice ship, works like a charm, but the damage-numbers and XP/credit gain didn't work. Haven't tried it since the buff due to lack of time. Must revisit. Also a bit redundant with Nelson. So overall, from the 35 premiums I have in my port (damn, that's a lot, eventhough a majority were freebies/"freebies"), 20 of them hardly see any use, or no use at all... Which I do find a staggering number. Luckily no money was "wasted" on it, with Texas being for the good cause and Warspite getting a full doubloon compensation for the RN Mission chain back in 2018. What about you?

    ARP and Dragon camo bonus

On EU they were quite stingy with them, making sure not too many people would get to enjoy the collaboration (Nachi anyone). Even if it’s a ship that was handed out for free, why make it so that it’s impossible to add basic gameplay modifiers for dispersion/detectability? Should they be worse than their techtree equivalents?
  13. She's performing alright, and the numbers reflect that. It's just not fun to play, that's why it's now being sidetracked. One should be careful to buff it (since buffs can't be reverted) just to revamp the attraction to it. She will be touched when the Pan-EU tree is there.

    Exeter - Last stage

Mission expired on Friday, the very moment the 4th stage for the Exeter became available. You couldn't have completed the KoD-mission with a free Exeter. Intentional, it was designed that way in order to lure people to buy the (expensive) Admirals pack.

    Exeter - Last stage

You're right, but mission shouldn't be designed in such a way that it requires you to "cheat the system" by div'ing up in order to complete it without losing your sanity. If you can play very early/late in the day, and have mostly bots on your team, it helps. Idem if you could start on that mission on Friday or Saturdaymorning the earliest. These days "everyone" has arrived at Mission 3, and hardly anyone can pass it since everyone is now aiming at those 3 kills.

    Exeter Mission

Mission chain was totally not corresponding with the end reward (3000 coal and a neutered T6 ship shoehorned in T5... for eternity), especially when you compare it for the marathon for the OktoRev. The latter being completable in Randoms only does not offset the ridiculous tier & nation restriction, as well as the game-breaking missions from the final stage, which makes everyone even more egocentric as before to get the required 3 kills, all at the same time.

    Exeter - Last stage

Got Exeter as well. Getting 3 kills required some Co-Op sessions (which are now a total mess btw, everybody is there to killsteal) before breakfast and some nasty ramming to secure the 3rd kill, should have used Cossack/Jervis, but went for Belfast. The citadels were a bit of a chore as well, as it depends on the correct cannon-fodder in the team lineup. Finished it with an 11-cit cruiser-heavy Co-Op game. The last 2 parts of stage 4 are incredibly poor design: having both a kill-mission AND a citadel-mission going on at the same time is the prime recipe for salt and abuse in the game. And then having the entire community be at that very same stage. Congatulations Wargaming, you've outdone yourself once again in terms of poorly thought-out designs. It's not that we've been saying for years that having ship-specific, nation-specific missions all at the same time for the entire community is bad for the game, the gameplay and the playerbase... But hey, if you refuse to listen...
  18. As per title. The very first requirement is: "shoot down 30 planes in a T5-8 British, US or Commonwealth cruiser or destroyer, in PvP or PvE". PvE is right out, since there are no AI carriers, and every AI ship launches its spotterplane from the very start of the battle. That leaves PvP. Prior to 0.8.0, you could use a CV as a flyswatter to spank planes out of the sky, but now that's impossible since CV's aren't a counter to eachother anymore, and the mission explicitly stipulates cruisers & destroyers, so that's double out as well. So that leaves either ships that are known for not having any meaningful AA whatsoever (and thus can be bullied by the planes at liberty without retaliation), or are known to be AA powerhouses and thus are avoided by planes because the CV-operator knows they'll be eaten alive, or ships that have "some AA", and then are at the mercy of the opposing CV operator giving them some attention. Given that you get into a battle with carriers to begin with, which isn't a certainty anymore since the balancing WG does since 0.8.0. Poor accidental mission design? Intentional frustration in order to bully people into buying the Admiral Pack? Out of touch community management? Do we really have to div up with a carrier player in order to get a chance to progress in this mission? Do we really have to rig matches? Prior to 0.8.0 this mission wouldn't be such a chore, but now... WG: either remove the tier/nation restriction, or rework to something meaningful. Forcing plane-kills when that game-mode is far from balanced or finished (despite your claims of the opposite) is just a poor show.
  19. With RNG in the equation of game-mechanics, any type of “competitive” will be dead on arrival.

    Exeter - Last stage

The achievements are one thing... but getting 3 kills... There is a lot of "holding fire until at 2K health" in CoOp going on.
  21. It also said on several portals: "over any number of battles, kill 3 ships". Also false, as it is in a single battle.
  22. MrFingers

Exeter easiest to aim for achievements ?

Nelson: Dreadnought & Fireproof, to a minor degree Devastating strike. If you're thrown in a T5 battle (which happens regularly) High Calibre and Confederate are for grabs as well. Gallant: Devastating strike + detonation (if you're devious of going out without JC and with every "+5% detonation risk"-flag) Did it in 12 battles. - Gallant: Devastating Strike, Devastating Strike - Nelson: Dreadnought - Nelson: Devastating Strike - Nelson: / - Nelson: / - Gallant: First Blood - Gallant: / - Nelson: Fireproof - Gallant: / - Nelson: / - Gallant: / - Nelson: / - Nelson: High Calibre, Confederate, Kraken, Dreadnought, Fireproof Glad to have this stage done, it sucked the fun out the the game big time. For the 3 kills, I'll use IFHE-Balancedfast in CoOp, maybe in the middle of the night.

    March Combat Missions: British Power

There are 4 mission stages, each with 3 or 4 sub-sets. First 3 stages (with 3, 3 & 4 sub-sets) award you 1000 coal, the 4th stage (with 4 sub-sets) awards you the Exeter. The 4th stage becomes available tomorrow, and will run until the wee hours of the 29th, so 1 week. On March 22, the Exeter-container mission ends, that's a mission that's there as a "carrot" to lure people into buying the Exeter in the premium shop. It will end before anyone who wishes to grind the Exeter for free via aforementioned missions can get the ship. Intentional design.
  24. Also miffed that they state in the article that A can be converted into B at a rate of 1-to-8... But when you get into the game, it turns out to be a rate of 5-to-40... Fun if you have 104 of one, and 990 of the other.
