Sometimes they can (like with the tokens for Cossack, they could get 2 sets of 10 for 99ct), sometimes they can't... but mostly they can.
-
Meaning: it gets available for cold hard cash in 1.5 years or so, or goes straight to the lootboxes like Musashi/Krohnstadt/Momo

Naval Legends: U.S.S. Cod – Trailer
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
It would explain why there are hardly any new maps coming out for WoWS nowadays... because resources are being diverted on remaking the existing maps from 2D to 3D? -
Which means that if you miss today, you'll have to play WoWS every day for the next 24 days without missing a single day and for at least 6 battles (and very likely more) if you want the Benham for free.

Benham - impossible grind............ WG have done well
MrFingers replied to _BigRed__'s topic in Archive
I've hoped the WoT-style would stay out of WoWS for a couple more years, since WoWS is aimed at a more adult audience, a more "casual" one... Alas, it was not to be, 2019 truly is the end of reasonable events, it can only go downhill from here, and we've barely even started. -
And in the end that's what they're aiming for. They did it in plain sight with the Cossack (known that you could only get 48 of the 50 tokens by playing), now they use an underhand method of a free marathon, which is not completable if you can't dedicate a couple of hours to WoWS each and every day, with only one day off.

The events seems to be designed that you have to spend some money to get the main reward. Opposed to the Cossack-marathon (which was impossible to complete without spending money, and that part was ill-received), now there is an option to grind out the Benham for free. It doesn't say or mean that it is a reasonable or sane option though, and it is all aimed into forcing players to buy (terrible value4money) containers. WG went full WoT-style on this one. -
AA: works as intended. A bit onlogical to focus a single plane, but at least it means you don't get shanked from the very start and with impunity Port-UI: from atrocious to "acceptable" I do encounter a graphical glitch though, when the AA-guns are firing, there are large white triangles that sporadically flash up, with the tip coming from the superstructure. As if a mask or something hasn't been set to transparent.

Remember, tonight is the WG-stream on Twitch, time to pester them with annoying questions about this.

The ship is the same price, it's because the Armoury-version comes hardwired with a portslot (300Dubs). "Technical limitation".
-
It will be a "oh, but there are discounts planned for the general playerbase later this year", only to be the standard -15% crap, or the "buy a crapton of doubloons, get a few percents extra".
-
According to someone on reddit, the Indianapolis-bundle gave 7500D (+2500D that comes with the package) since he already had the ship, so yeah, it does.

Remember when WG said that "Steam accounts would be just like regular accounts". Yeah... so far for that promise.
-
No ship is worth trading my sanity (or what little has been left of it after PEF/Exeter) for anymore.
-
I find it strange to begin with that Nelson was chosen as the T7 premium, and not Rodney (because of a way more interesting career).

As a Belgian, I can say that our lawbook states that "a guaranteed reward" doesn't mean it's not a lottery, because it still is.

Recruiting Station: a New Referral Program with Fresh Rewards!

I'm not that well known in the circle of die-hard masochists, that I would find someone who wishes to start from scratch in the current state, and keep persevering in it. -
Summer Recruitment Drive - Get Paid for Inviting Friends!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I'm sure you do... but the actions that need to follow that attention/feedback gathering are severely lacking. WoWS has turned into a factory that only churns out T9/10 premiums and questionable new gamemodes with strange cosmetics, while ignoring long-standing issues and desires "because they're too difficult to implement/low on the priority ladder". And stuff like that doesn't give confidence for the future, and doesn't give an incentive to invite people to explore this game. In all honesty, I see myself saying to aspiring new players: "WoWS was a great game, then the CV rework happened and it takes quite long to fix it, with WoWS now being borderline unplayable for a large group of ships, previously important tactical knowledge being nullified and the matchmaker swamped with high-tier premiums that are on offer at a blistering pace. Please check this game later, as for now it's a carcass even I don't recognise anymore". -
So you make an event with the final reward being a T9 destroyer, and getting enough tokens will require you to be playing each an every day for quite a while... in full holiday season. Can't get enough tokens, you have to buy containers (if your country lets you), or else suck it up and have nothing. Then the marathon for the Cossack was way better thought out: grind tokens, and if you can't get enough tokens because of whatever reason, you could buy tokens (and just that, not "packed" in a bloated box) to fill in the deficit. As the event currently stands: hard pass from me, eventhough I was willing to splurge some cash on getting the Benham, a ship I looked forward to; (grind some, buy the rest) but not with these abusive rules and mechanics. Helped by the rules of the government which prohibits the purchase of lootboxes to begin with, so not even tempted. Overall: not impressed at all.

Apart from being a nice bunch, we also have a really nicely expanded clan base. Every building researched except the steel port (2/3).

Sad, but brutally true.

Since premiums now are moved to the Armoury, we don't get any discounts anymore. Gone are the days of 50% on T2-5, 30% on T6-7 and 15% on T8 premium techtree ships. What we have now is an added bonus when you buy large sums of doubloons, but those bonuses don't go nearly as high as the discounts used to go deep.
