It's less clunky and more intuitive to use, so I applaud that. Still that sectors-thing is rather bonkers in terms of concept to begin with.

Did that beard come at a 75% discount? (nice jawline btw!)

It has been permanently removed from direct-sale (now relegated to use as a "carrot" in order to lure people into buying X-mas lootboxes) because it has a built-in, camo-independent, credit multiplier meaning you absolute create ridiculous amounts of credits, and it was breaking the high-tier economics (which were meant to be punishing) it's a well-performing BB which has radar, on the verge of being too well performing (and a decent performance paired with an absurd credit multiplier means... yeah, it's broken)

Summer Recruitment Drive - Get Paid for Inviting Friends!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
You should ask @RegularLogic, he observed those competitions. I was just wondering how we were supposed to compete with CC's who have a much larger (potential) audience. -
390 battles in Bismarck... And I don't even like Sabaton! (I was just churning out elite commander XP and raking in CQE-medals with it, the commander being my second 19pt er)

Summer Recruitment Drive - Get Paid for Inviting Friends!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I've already started to see CC's organise "tournaments" under the guise of competitions of their own making, requiring new accounts only, and all using referral links. This is a serious oversight from you guys, WG. Just a bump, to bring this under renewed attention. @Crysantos? -

Haven't you heard about the Soviet Submarine Flotilla singlehandedly turning the tide at the Battle of Malinovka? -

Are you grinding (or will grind) USS Tier IX DD "Benham" for 800 "Fuel Tokens"?
MrFingers replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Ofcourse, the Community Contributors get a shortcut offered by Wargaming by having 15 premium containers credited to their account for free, in exchange for some promotion. That's 225 free fuel us plebeians will never get. -
Was in port, then I wasn't anymore.

Yes, but never at -75%. The biggest discounts I've seen were -50% on T2-5 ships before 0.7.1, and with Xmas 2017, that the T6 ships (older ones) were at -40% instead of -30% as usual. Also that steam-users get a full doubloon compensation, whereas regular players don't... There is only one satisfactory and valid option: give the same discounts on the same ships with 100% doubloon compensation (once per item per account) to regular players. We haven't forgotten the "preferential treatment" of Steam-players during the Cossack-marathon either (where regular players could buy 1 set of 10 tokens for 1€, and Steam-players could buy 2 sets for 1€ each, whereas regular players had to spend 10€ for the tokens 11-20).

Do I want the Benham: Yes Do I agree with WG making this ship an "event-exclusive", making it unavailable in the foreseeable future: No Do I have the fancy to dedicate 2+hrs to WoWS each and every day for the next 20-something days, including weekends or days with (scheduled) overtime: No Do I feel like indulging in a ridiculous time-gated event, where each and every initiative is taken out of your hand: No Do I feel like playing an event-mode that is both cosmetically unappealing as well as bland and too arcade in terms of gameplay: No Do I agree with having the "backup tokens" hidden behind overpriced lootcrates, which have the sole purpose to hike up the price, opposed to the ones for the Cossack-marathon: No Do I want to support any of these new "predatory" events that basically gives the finger to anyone that isn't a full-time WoWS-player (miss one day too much of daily missions, lose 100 tokens), or a whale (1250D for 15 tokens, 7 boxes often needed as a minimum)? No Do I live in a country where lootboxes are available for cash? No Do I have no other plans for this holidays? No Pretty obvious. WG has dropped the ball here big time. Hiding an interesting T9 premium behind such a ridiculous event (ridiculous in pricing, ridiculous in the marathon to get it for "free" (no monetary purchase), ridiculous in catch-up mechanics that are either absent or predatory). -
If you can play each and every day. Which a lot of people can't because of IRL reasons. Even a regular day-job allows for weekends and spare-time.

WoT is folding hard, so WG needs to find their money somewhere else... and it ain't the barren wasteland of WoWP.

Savage Battle - How do you like them?
MrFingers replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
Cosmetics: absolutely not my cup of tea, and that makes it so I don't even play the mode after the 1 battle I played yesterday Gameplay: meh. Too arcade and too generic. It's intended to be a BR mode, and it's not even good at that. -
This is what RadarX said on reddit...

The total lack of WG-staff input is also telling. Normally with events like these, they are omnipresent to stir up the hype... Now they are silent.

July Combat Missions: Ride the Rogue Wave!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Given you want to tie us all up for an entire month, it won't be here though. -
Almost all of those people are botters. They put in more battles per day than is humanly possible.
-
Which means: everything else than this!
-
We can comfort ourselves with the thought that, ever since LordofDroid became manager in late 2017, none of the EU-staffmembers will get the Benham for free either. A perk of being a WG employee is getting all premiums credited to your account upon release, but event-ships are excluded from that (it wasn’t the case prior to late 2017). So if they want it, they’ll have to indulge in the insane grind themselves.
