How happy are you with the game right now? Reddit shows a rather grim picture.

Is it any different (better) over here? Or are dark clouds looming on the horizon. -

Research Bureau: New Rewards for Leveling Up
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Meanwhile on NA... they're really having issues with player retention (and thus income, hence why we're being forced and NTC upon us). https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/sales-and-events/get-your-groove-back/ -
Research Bureau: New Rewards for Leveling Up
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
It does... So maybe it's about time that WG starts giving the playerbase some respect again. WG has been showing us the finger consequently with their "events" for almost a year now. You reap what you sow. -
Research Bureau: New Rewards for Leveling Up
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
NTC/RB wouldn't be so bad if it didn't sell all the ships you already owned. If it were just "earn x XP milestones per tier" for a certain branch, it could have been a good idea. The rewards are still absolutely ridiculous and are even more aggravating than the "better ships for steel-players" we currently see. But we all know it's not because you care for the playerbase, the veterans or the "hmm, mid-tiers are sparsely populated, we must address that issue" that you came up with NTC/RB. It's just another lemon you've cut open in order to squeeze completely dry because you guys are either ridiculously greedy, or the normal stream of revenue has dried up (because of lack of influx of new players (cfr aggressive recruitment campaign + ridiculous collabs like Linus Tech Tips) and/or saturation of the mid/long term players' accounts and/or T8 ships that don't sell anymore because of horrendous T8 matchmaker and an abundance of T9 premiums/freemiums). F*ck long-term plans or investments in the playerbase, go all-in on the short-term buck, extort every player and then abandon ship. Way to come over as a reliable partner, and way to go if you want me to open my wallet (which tbh, will never ever happen again, you guys have messed up way too many times for that. You're reputation sits lower than that borehole in the Kola peninsula). -

Peculiar how WG doesn't ask for our feedback anymore... they just do whatever they want. Way to alienate whatever playerbase you have left!- 359 replies

poll Ship Drops from standard French Destroyer Containers
MrFingers replied to Cambera_1's topic in General Discussion
18 containers: absolutely nothing. -
First. The overall goal is to implement them in randoms as well.
-
14 crates in: 0 Tomorrow I can get 2 more. Will be zilch as well.

@Crysantos I know you like feedback, to do... "stuff" with it (I don't know what, but "passing it along to those in charge" doesn't seem to be it though, given the dog's dinner we're being served day after day). Here, have some more feedback.

Always nice to get featured! -
I must say that I'm honestly impressed. Impressed that you guys always seem to find a way to make events (or should I call them "events") even more unattractive, uninviting and non-welcoming to participate in than the previous one. Remember when we could earn commanders by completing missions in a campaign... Without currencies, without time-limitations and at our own pace and discretion... Pepperidge Farm CBT-era players remember. Want to monetize it? Sure: offer "completion stars" for sale. Easy fix.

Recruiting Station: a New Referral Program with Fresh Rewards!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Seems there is a lot of drop-out on the referees... Retention problems much? -
We'll see, but given how extremely well (the /s is implied) they handled the CV rework and the NTC-feedback, this will be the final nail in the coffin for me.
-
I managed to get 4 people referred to the game (2 returnees, 2 new people, all via Reddit), but after a few weeks, only one of them is still playing semi-regularly. The others managed to get between 40 & 340 points, before going silent. So I was wondering, how is the situation at your side (you can check it here)? Is there a problem with retention (of both new & veteran players)?
-
Those who managed to get recruits (either new or returnees) via the referree-program. How many of those are still active after a couple of weeks?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Of all the people I referred (you could refer people back in the days when you got some coal for it for the first 3), and the 5 I currently have in this program, only 1 still plays. IIRC, I referred 9 or 10 people in total... that's just sad. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
MrFingers replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
This was virtually an 11-vs-1 battle. In the end solo against an Alaska and a Jutland, tied on points, with a cap-disadvantage. Getting a Kraken in Ranked is extra-sweet though. 2670BXP. -
Too logical, will never get implemented. (but it would be perfect indeed).
-
Remember the Albany. That was the sole ship that was really being given out. Just activate a code and you got it (WG Anniversary in August 2015 or so). Apart from that, the requirements got more and more ridiculous for the reward ships, and the time-gating and limitations more and more strict & harsh. I just don't bother anymore.

Upcoming discounts guesstimates?
MrFingers replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
"You won't have saved 30%, you'll have spent 70%". And given the unification of events, it's likely EU players will get them. Maybe only a select few (1+ year active, not having spent alot in the shop already) and/or very restrictive on what you can use that 30%. It's WG we're dealing with after all, not Steam. -

Why again a commander hidden behind time-limited tokens (and then coal)? What is wrong with awarding commanders via a (hard but not time-gated) campaign like Halsey & Yamamoto? Why do we still have the campaigns-tab anyway, it's not seeing any use anyway?

Rewards Are on the Way – Stream Incoming!
MrFingers replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
How does it come that the EU-codes work on NA as well as ASIA servers, but not the other way around (I can't redeem an NA code or ASIA code). Are we being WG EU'd again? (yes, I know it's for the same mission, but given the very limited time window you allow for redeeming those codes, it means I have to be present between 6 & 8 on Thursday.
