Excellent. It wasn't about doing extreme things, just to "readjust" some details a bit, if needed. SMS Dresden, the aftermath of the Battle of Mas a Tierra. The German ship just struck the colours.

[NA] can earn a Tachibana for free (in 6 consecutive missions)... EU...?
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
If there wasn't a reason to drag it up on a weekly basis, it wouldn't be dragged up. But as it turns out, the NA gets the cake and can eat it to, for no apparent reason. Can anyone point me to a thing in the history of the EU-server in which the EU got a deal that was more favourable compared to others servers? A certain kind of discount? A special that was more grotesque than abroad? While that is indeed annoying, I only did that once, because the elephant in the room did not get addressed (it was something about bundles). While there was a lot of CM's "reading" in the "people also reading this topic"-list at the bottom of the screen, there was no reply from them, so it was needed. It's not the "3x instead of a 2x", it's the constant and unrelenting notion that other servers get the better deal, with the EU limping far behind (project R (especially the original version, with the lottery), the free Mikasa, Aurora, Murmansk,... on the NA-server (talking about NA-server, take a look at this), the way more frequent competitions hosted on the NA-forums, combined with a vibrant community interaction, and way bigger and numerous prizes (NA has top 20's, EU top 5's, with EU having single low-tier ships, NA bundles with gold, premium, flags and mid/high tiers,...). I had some good hopes that a change was about to come with the specials and contests in December, but it turns out this was a short-lived outburst of generosity, and in 2016, the EU gets the middle finger again in terms of extra's. Only the very bare minimum, and that's it. -

MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Your point being? The same events are happening on the NA as well, so that doesn't seem to hamper them. The reason why I made this topic, is in twofold. One to inform other players, and a second one to keep a "timeline" of the treatment the EU gets compared to other servers. -

Because the Tachibana is, unlike the Albany, a totally fun ship to play (a sealclubbing lovechild of the Sampson & Umikaze), and it's again something the EU is being refused. -
This is so much horsecrap... The flag is not forbidden in any places (it's even designed, and in the game files). The Soviet flag however is...

"One swallow does not a summer make", but it is indeed a big step in the right direction. We'll see how it will evolve. Maybe this ship was also in an unbundled version because it doesn't have a techtree (yet) for which it can be used as a trainer (which is quite a part of the premium benefits), so we'll see if we see ship with an actual techtree to back it up in an unbundled fashion. Yet, I applaud this change wholeheartedly!

Does a cruiser with a plane count as a carrier?
MrFingers replied to kmwmtd's topic in Newcomers' Section
No, a cruiser with a plane is a cruiser, not a carrier. So those aren't eligible for the carrier-required missions. -
No bundle? [edited]

May the picture be altered (as in: ad or remove certain objects, or use photo composition)?

Given the incentive back in October of the EU and NA staff actively coordinating events with eachother, I wholeheartedly expect an equal and comparable treatment (not a carbon-copy, which might not be feasible, but at least something with the same impact factor). Is this semi-uniformity? And will this be semi-uniform as well? Or let me put it differently... Has there been any case of semi-uniformity since October 1st? Like... equal prizes in contests (*cough* Mikasa X-mas ornament giveaway *cough*)?

Secondary batteries even when maxed are a joke, completely useless
MrFingers replied to Fritzblitzer's topic in General Discussion
And some of the modules have a offsetting quality as well (don't know it is for the secondaries as well, but for the primaries, it is)... Like: "have an increased accuracy, but a slower rotation time", "have an increased DPM, but a slower reload", maybe you've installed two conflicting modules, which net you nothing, because the one cancels the other out. My AKB (without any secondary mods) is quite capable of laying down the hurt on DD's and light cruisers coming within 2km. Not enough to finish them (although that happened a twice or thrice), but enough to cripple them, and "soften them up a bit". -
New premium DD to be ROCN "Lo Yang" (Benson class)
MrFingers replied to RoyalColor's topic in General Discussion
It's available on the Asia-server, in three packs (one pack, two bundles), starting from 35$: http://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/specials-and-events/premium-shop-20160129/ the smallest pack is the ship, the slot and 10 premium smoke generators. Fair enough. -
New, previously unreleased premium ship to be earned in the NA in February.
MrFingers posted a topic in General Discussion
This was posted on the NA-youtube channel... Will something comparable come to the EU-server? Especially the word earned is of interest. On a sidenote, they will also have discounts every week (nation spotlight, in which a nation gets some attention and love). Any news regarding the plans for the EU? -

To be completely honest, when Project-R was unleashed on the SEA-server, it was confirmed in days that it would come to the NA and RU-server (by WG-staff), with the EU holding a hesitant stance for a long time (up until 3 weeks ago, we didn't know anything for sure). And when it came, the NA & EU got shafted, with the limited number of ships that would get raffled instead of a guaranteed win if a milestone was met. Only because of a huge outcry from the community, we got Project-R in the shape we have it now. -
Releasing unfinished lines - yay or nay?
MrFingers replied to Tyrendian89's topic in General Discussion
In WoT, there was a time that the Light-Tank branch only went to Tier 6 or so, so it's feasible... Anyway, I'm not opposed to it, as long as there are no gaps in the tree (and preferably no "placeholder ships" either (like the Cleveland now is)).- 21 replies

[Suggestion] HMS Caroline - The Battle of Jutland (update: something seems to be brewing)
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
For those who are interested, a small (30 minutes) documentary about the ship, with some nice footage of the (remarkable well preserved) interior.- 157 replies

A bit pityful to see that the "don't care"-group is merged with the "no it doesn't"-group. For a clear view, they should've been separated. RN should be added "fairly fast", if not for its historical significance, at least to keep the masses happy, and prevent these threads pop up every other day (hey, I'm as eager as the next RN-fan, but I know they will come in 2016, and that's good enough for me)

Will there be a "thing" (commemorative flag, mini-bonus,...) for the people who managed to earn the maximum of personal pearls available?

6 in my Konigsberg, with a Omaha crossing my T from behind... Hitrate of 100%. That Omaha-driver wasn't too happy about it, but on the plus side, I enlarged my vocabulary quite a bit in terms of new curse words.

[Suggestion] Admiral flags upon reaching a certain account level or ship-milestone.
MrFingers posted a topic in General Discussion
Players, staff, A thread on Reddit made me think about something. I have that Santa-flag as well, and I do not like it (as in: "I'd rather have something (semi)historical on my ship"). So I replaced it by the (UK) "Lord High Admiral" flag. But that made me think. Now the account progress stops at Level 11, but maybe it would be good to include the admiral flags for a higher level. Since each navy had their particular set of flags for admirals, it would give a nice historical touch to the game, and a way to distinguish high-level players (a bit like the flags from ranked do). The flags would be purely cosmetic of course, without any impact on the gameplay. OR: Have those flags for reaching certain milestones in your ship in terms of XP earned (twice the elite-value: Rear Admiral(LH)/Commodore. Thrice the elite value: Rear Admiral. Quadruple: Vice Admiral. Octuple the elite value: Admiral). Again: just for bragging rights, with no (noticable) benefits. US Navy. Royal Navy. Imperial/Kriegsmarine. Japan Navy. ...- 28 replies

World of Warships - Patch 0.5.2.3 Notes 'Big Booty' Review and Thoughts
MrFingers replied to CAPT_Taste's topic in General Discussion
http://thearmoredpatrol.com/2016/01/12/wows-tap-qa-ii-answered-questions/ (question 19) Nothing official (hey, what did you expect?), and I have no idea in how accurate & trustworthy TAP is, but... yeah... it's a sign.- 32 replies

[Suggestion] Admiral flags upon reaching a certain account level or ship-milestone.
MrFingers replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Making them mandatory would be... Silly. See it as an "opt-in" feature, like the ranked flags. Since they won't give any benefits, you won't lose anything by disabling it. Is this a bit comparable to the "marks of excellence" on the tank barrels in WoT? (I haven't played that game since those were implemented)
