Premium Yamato of course (or Musashi). What else could the surprise be? -

It's really unfortunate I can't check the previous weekly missions anymore. Are you guys absolutely positively sure you did all of them, including carriers? I mean I'm not especially lucky in general, I never win anything ever anywhere etc. -

But having 1020 'monds so far kind of invalidates the 1000 maximum mentioned earlier and another set of weeklies might still be kind of possible, especially now that WG see that we're not going to make it to 12M. Maybe the delay today was because of people rushing to change the "Final weeklies are here!" headlines and we still have a chance of getting the premium Yama. -

No, we won't. Assuming that bar shows the real progress. Especially if this week's auto completions are already in it and not for example added only after people login. -

I don't know, I just completed everything so far (except the 100k exp for this week). -

Hold on, I now have 1000 diamonds and a few thousand exp points left in the weekly recurring. Wasn't the max supposed to be 1k diamonds? -
I've done some experiments at tiers 4-9, I didn't bother to actually go very scientific and actually gather lots of data points into Excel sheets, but I did play quite a few games firing both kinds of ammo. I'm not a good shot which means I can only somewhat reliably cit broadside targets at sub 10km ranges (well not in the Arkansas B) so better shots will probably get better results, but I was only able to (consistently) make the average damage of AP hits go higher than HE (+fires) if I only used AP against targets that were close and presenting good angles. Of course when shooting battleships they can repair lots of fire damage, but not all of it, especially if they're taking fire from multiple ships. Perhaps even more telling is the way I feel about getting shot at myself; if I'm facing multiple enemies and they're firing AP I feel I can work with that and sometimes I do pull off nice against the odds -results. If I'm getting HE-spammed I'm usually just dead. AP shots (especially those of BBs) have potential for massive damage but it works both ways. Of course you can also pull off really nasty things with HE at suitable targets, one especially unlucky cruiser got citadeled for close to 30k AND set on fire. My experiments aren't exactly scientific nor are the results conclusive, but at least if you're not a very good shot HE can be a good option even in battleships. Especially when the target is being engaged by several ships, angling at the biggest guns (you) and his repairs are constantly on cooldown. HE seems to be severely underestimated in general, I remember well one Pensacola who wrote "lol HE-battleships" in chat after receiving 12k damage from a Nagato HE volley, slightly before he burned to death from the two fires I started. Nowadays I tend to load more AP especially on the big ships, just hoping for that massive high stakes lottery win, but pretty often after a game I end up looking at the battle results screen's AP hits per damage ratio thinking that firing more HE would've probably given me better results.

And the very next match I blow up a healthy Sims with one hit. Now I feel pissed off AND guilty, great feature. -

Ok, just happened. I sneak through the map successfully, find myself a few kilometers from the enemy carrier who launches a squad of bombers. Well no probs I'm filling his citadel with explosive stuff until... Well, I suppose you guessed already. One bomb hit and poof, Kiev down from full HP. That was a very fun and pleasant experience, woo-hoo. Please remove this crab right now pretty please with sugar on top. -

Yeah the question about week 5 missions is an interesting one for sure. And what type of a ship are you supposed to play on week 5, submarines? -

We just crossed the five million mark in total progress as many people got their weekly set of pre-earned diamonds. With the weeklies getting more difficult I would guesstimate that at this pace we'll never uncover the secret (which is probably a free premium Yamato for everyone) as long as that progress bar actually tracks the real progress. To get two million extra from the big missions by the end of the event would require 10000 people reaching both the 300 and 500 mission goals, which sounds like a lot to me. -

Getting headshots in FPS games is actually very much a skill element and something the best players spend insane amounts of time to master. -

The game already has an uncomfortable amount of randomness in gunnery and detonations are are just making it worse. I'd like to see experiments on reducing the randomness in shell dispersion and the extreme effects of citadel hits, but I'm not sure if that would actually make the game better in the end. Removing detonations or changing them to something less destructive (for example a new death animation for a ship getting massively overkilled) would improve things a bit. Since I have lots of experience and some understanding of how aiming / damage modeling works in WoWS I'm one of the people who feels a bit guilty when detonating someone, at least from full health, so it's not a +1 / -1 argument really. Especially early on in a battle it's the same effect as having an AFKer in the team and although you can imagine they got some kind of mechanical trouble and thus had to leave the battle (which happened in reality), I don't see many people defending that behavior. If a player gets ammoracked 2% of the time it actually means you get about two ammoracks per four games or one in every other match, which is more common than AFKing in my experience - of course getting ammoracked early on in a game is more rare than that so AFKing may be a more prevalent form of random game ruining in reality (and the 2% number is of course not a scientifically accurate number). -
If it helps any and you need to inject data manually, I just completed my 500th mission since the start of the gnb event and I did 8 cruiser kills in that game.

Just watch out for the potential downside to this which is the (already mentioned somewhere) need to predict what's coming up next in case there are difficult missions coming up. For example if there's a last week mission in the style of "get 5 krakens in a submarine" it might be easy for those who regularly play submarines and did so during the early days of the event, but for someone who buys his first sub to get the diamonds it can be a rough task for one week. I almost wonder why the missions need to be hidden anyway, couldn't we just see them from the start if the games count anyway? -

Where can you see last week's missions? Or did you count the diamonds and some are missing? Anyway, I don't know about the secret being uncovered during the mission. True enough there are some 100 diamond missions people will start completing later on, but only few will ever get that far and then again there's a number of easier, fairly rewarding missions many have already completed. -
