The Forum Tavern - Off Topic Thread - Bring Your Own Beer !
CountOfTuscany replied to bazdaris's topic in Off-Topic
Can someone explain me the deal with CoD and Battlefield? After all they are both 360-no-scope-kill franchises, or at least that's the idea I get of those games and the playerbase. So what makes CoD Infinite Warfare so absolutely terrible (Okay, when I viewed the trailer I thought: "doesn't this look like Halo?") and what makes Battlefield 1 so awesome (Back in the day there was already a WW1 mod for 1942, did they took that as an inspiration or do they aim for a Verdun for 360-no-scope-kill people?). It all doesn't really make sense to me (especially the endless Infinite Warfare bashing, seriously the game isn't even out yet, what glory are people after?). I guess it will ultimately just pass past me, 'cause I'm not interested in both games. -

Well it makes sense to me that the accuracy would be better, since the ship is more stable. That being said accuracy indeed also depends on other factors (like the amount of guns in a turret next to each other).
-
Just read a bit about the ship. What a sad story
-
Recently I read that the RN was among the first to use stabilization on it's naval guns. I also understood that RN ships often where quite stable when sailed on the ocean. So could it be that good accuracy will be a feature of british ships?
-
I see, but I guess it depends on the size of the waves? I doubt it will be easy to fire accurately in situations like these, especially for the smaller ships with a lower displacement (DDs and small cruisers):

Should we bump this thread once in a while?

Oh look what's there... Lo-yang in the prem shop. Kind of interesting that WG puts all kinds of special ships in the shop right now: first Saipan, then Tirpitz and now Lo-Yang. -
Recently I played a few games of WoT and was laughing at the amount of silliness and the way I would get really frustrated in the past. I remember from the past that I was heavily focussed on increasing my WN8/average damage/winrate or carrying battles, but I just didn't care anymore. Also the tier differences: met an enemy O-I while playing in my T-34. Can't pew pew him with my 57mm shells. I can double tap 2 and load the skill rounds ofc, but only had 7 of those... Or run away. It dawned on me that I've enjoyed WoWs way more for the matches played. I think WoT just features too many elements that offer an easy entrance too frustration, like: gold ammo (seriously messes up the way tanks are balanced), artillery mechanics (roll those dies) and the problem where lower tier tanks barely have any means to fight stuff 2 tiers higher. Probably no wonder that the playerbase is also a lot more toxic. WoWs doesn't have those problems or much less, which makes it a lot better imho. And this also attributes in less toxicity. Regarding playerbase I wouldn't be surprised if the average player age in WoWs is 15 years older than in WoT (not sure if it is, but I get that idea). WoWs feels much more relaxing, which is the main reason I play games, so I'll play WoWs most of the time and every now and then the odd WoT battle.

Tirpitz in the premshop for 45 days !

probably, but will the bismarck have deck mounted torps? It hadn't historically, so I guess it will still remain Tirpitz' niche. -
"To Richelieu, Retreat is Not an Option!"
CountOfTuscany replied to Procrastes's topic in Age of Armour Warships
What is known about the accuracy of these ships historically? I understood that multiple gun barrels next to each other mess up with eachothers accuracy (due to blasts from shots being fired). Would love to see those ships though. Reason for me why I would like to see French ships in the game.- 47 replies

Lol, Germany should come first? While I love to see German BBs being introduced, they are by no means the number one navy. There has been a lot of whine about anothercertain navy that should have been introduced first into the game, and while the whine is annoying, that navy should have entered the game before the Germans. I'd like to see you come up with the a picture of the complete Kriegsmarine fleet and compare it to this one (which I reposted from another thread): Also I like how you emphasize on what Germany did during WW II, while their WW I surface fleet was much more impressive.

Looks like it, there is a date and a location on those red ships. F.e. HMS Hood shows 1941, North Atlantic.
