Since the first time I watched Kubrick's Dr Strangelove I like 'When Johny comes marching home' But talking about military songs nowadays I'm listening Sabatons. Not exactly military songs but military inspired for sure (with spacial focus on WW2). edit: removing clip with Johny music since it was added just ahead.

I'm not so sure, based on this thread Bismarck could be T8

Tuccy na tohle téma už psal na general foru, že samozřejmě mají.

Jen škoda, že se komunita na fóru roztříští. No co se dá dělat, potkávat se budeme všichni ve hře, to je hlavní.

Night Mode... why this game absolutely has to have one. Period.
KRBeC replied to WhiskeyWolf's topic in General Discussion
I would not agree with you BBV (well at least if I understand correctly that if some ow WG's titles will implement night mode, it will be WoT as the oldest one). WoT is quite diferent in game style (from what I saw in gameplay videos). While in WoT you have lot of obstacles in the way (stones, buildings, some poles that cannot be crushed etc.) so playing in darkness would be quite a problem, in WoWs it is quite different - not so many obstacles and what is there is quite big. If dencent moonlight will be set (so you see siluethes of isladns/idebergs) you can easily cross the ocean with no fear of crashing into hidden stone or something. The game-pace is also not so frentic so you have more time to react. -
I was really amazed to see Musashi's video during main TV news in my country yesterday. The ship might not be so well-known in the middle of Europe, but now much more ppl would know it existed (guess it is more famous than Yamato in my country right now).

Will there be differentiation between light and heavy cruisers?
KRBeC replied to KomissarBojanchev's topic in General Discussion
And do we need two types of cruisers? Look at WoT, as a heavy tanks you have there tank around 50 tons (less than some german medium tanks) as well as 180 ton Maus. The "heavy" and "light" is quite distinguished (perhaps with some tanks at the edge), but all are classified as heavy tanks (same for other types). Guess it could work the same in WoWs and I would be surprised if heavier cruisers were not slower and less maneuverable than lighter ones. -

Only way to "shoot friendlies for score" I can imagine is to shoot frieldy so you won't be competing with them for frags. But first you get your score lowered (or even get banned for some time due to friendly fire) and then you might end up outnumbered and owned by enemy cause not having friends to help you. -
I thought TOG II would be a premium UK submarine in WoWs

Good point. Kinda forgot it could be adjusted even such way.

Battleship YAMATO || World War II battle
KRBeC replied to bogdanandrei1998's topic in Age of Armour Warships
Kinda sad that such ship could never proove itself in proper naval battle. But long ago was proved battleships are obsolete compared to carriers. Despite that Japan made Yamato and Musashi, and yet again proved that air > water. On the other had WoWs gives another chance to this ship (and to many more) to show it is not just a dummy target for airplanes. -
Try Google, there are lot of options. Or check this list in case Amazon operates in your contry.

Yea, in modern logistci (or say logistick in general) time is always important. The Question would be whether it is efficient to use higher-speed ships (fuel consumption etc.) Most of material/goods transported by sea does not hurry that much. Somehow I was not ableto find infomation for this comparison, asside those new container ships should be much more ecological and use more efficient propulsion (but comparing only type of propulsion, not actual running costs with scope to speed). But you dont need to carry passengers and card in WoWs, rather you need to deliver some nasty hits to your enemy and be able to withstand some counterfire. Anf for that you need bit more than fast-moving can. Guess everyone would like to meet opponent who plays in such crap (just few HE shells and bye), maybe if it had a reasonable gun (sort of glass-cannon ship) then things might get funy.
-
I'm affraid these sick-looking ships won't see a battle in WoWs due to a balance issue (in case I'm wrong, I will definitely try to play those ). Just imagine 12'' to 18'' shells in low-tier battle. Yea, only 1 or 2 shots at once, probably quite inaccurate, but still hit would mean certain kill. On the other hand considering latest British TD line in WoT, everything might be possible.

Night Mode... why this game absolutely has to have one. Period.
KRBeC replied to WhiskeyWolf's topic in General Discussion
@WhiskeyWolf The first part (shoot or wait) was just a reaction on "shoot what you identify" idea (with scope of "grey spotting" cause limited spot range in night battles). Someone already complained about enough teamkills even now (in day battles and clear spotting). And seriously, would you shoot unidentified ship (just for to be sure it won't shoot you first) or would you wait till it gets closer so you would be able to identify it? The idea about not having enemy identified unless first spotting them si basically same as is in current CWs (WoT/WoWp). And yea, it would be funny not to know what is there waiting for you (and it seems in WoWs wont be much of bush-camping as it is in WoT). Still the problem is in time you spot a ship but cannot identify whether its friend of foe due to night time. @Darthtanking Sorry if I offended you somehow, but what is exactly this discusion about? I thought it's about discusing ptions and sharing opinions. If you don't agree with what I wrote, then perhaps explain why so we can discuss it. x00Starki, on 17 February 2015 - 08:34 AM, said: As a former military, I avoid blue-on-blue at all cost. At least one can guess - as you mentioned - from position and behaviour whether this target is friend or foe - if the target obeys to the same rules. Yea, I guess it would mostly work fine (if ship is heading towards you from enemy spawn direction, it is not likely to be a friend, unless it is your destroyer who came there for spotting). Still a situation when you cannot say for sure is quite possible and lot of players would preobably shoot first and asked later. Personally I would shoot if not certain its a friend and if the ship would not fire back, then I would consider it friendly and wait for identification (and again, if someone not identified will shoot at me and I'm not certain it is just a confused friend, I would just fire back all I could (just for sure). If there should be a nicght mode, there should be definitely made some adjustments for spotting, but I would rather not get in game where I can shoot at target I cannot identify (spot and know what it is, or not spot at all unless it get closer). Well it's just how I see it. -

KRBeC replied to WhiskeyWolf's topic in General Discussion
Talking about unidentified spotting, try consider this situation ... Unidentified ship appears in front of you. Judjing position and direction of that ship it is most likely enemy. Will you shoot, just for sure (rather you than me) or will you wait till you identify it (so you won't hit/kill your teamate). Other thing is, that if there should be uncertaing spotting (you see ship but need to get closer to identify whether its friend or foe), you won't be able to see your team on minimap (as if in WoT they were out of your signal range), or see those ships grey as unidentified. Maybe you should even not be able to see what ships you are paying with and against, unless you spot and identify those, so you will be realy depending on spotting system. Anyway for me entire idea of changing spotting system that way seems a step towards wrong direction (my opinion). -

Unidentified ships (grey spotting) .. this could be troublesome and it was already written we have enough of teamkills (both intentionals and by mistake) even when we distiguish friends and foes Variable starting positions .. Interesting idea, perhaps usefull even for normal day battles. I was kinda scared when I saw in iChase's video how carrier may go straight for carrier (like counterarty in WoT with the added possibility to spot you target for enormous distance). In case of multiple stating posibilities you just dont know, where to send your planes (still you can guess). And for night battles you just dont know where the enemy comes from, unless he get close enough (or start shooting and thus reveal himself) -
I just remebered waiting for Diablo3 or Duke Nukem Forever. Considering what I saw on youtube, I would not expected postponing !official! release date for several long years.

Sci-fi Creatures - Which would you least want to meet on a Ship
KRBeC replied to SeaMonsterUK's topic in Off-Topic
I was thinking about replicators from stargate, though they could be nice as a weapon if you somehow manage to controll them. -
I got the idea of trying ships after I saw simmilar feature in HotS. But it is not a direct competition to WG, rather it take players from other MOBA games. Anyway if this was not WoWS forum but one of MOBA game, I would defend this featuer as something realy important. But since WoWS (and other WG's titles) are completely diferent, I just wrote it as an idea. Considering what was already written in here I don't expect WG to pay an attention to this idea since it's realy marginal. Who would like to test ships (not now, but after final release) would be probably able to do so on test server (as in WoT and WoWP), and who dont like test servers would just depend on reviews and his/her own experience (as I do in WoT).

What's your favourite movie featuring a warship and why ?
KRBeC replied to Hanszeehock's topic in Off-Topic
For me it would be Under Siege, though USS Missouri was just a stage for Staven Seagal (his old movies rock, new ones .... guess you know what) btw. Missouri was longer than Yamato (not saying bigger since it was almost 25.000 tons lighter) -
Czech sailor reporting to duty. Since we are not a naval superpower (probably cause we have no sea) our men services during WW1 at Austro-Hungarian Navy, the Imperial and Royal War Navy. Currently we operate only small naval forces (we dnt even have nuclear submarines). In case you are interested, check this site .

KRBeC replied to WhiskeyWolf's topic in General Discussion
What exactly is so wrong on spotting system and why should it be a problem for night maps? I wouldsay that this spotting system is what makes WG's game what these are - your graphic card no longe matters (as long as you can play with decent draw distance), you simply see what game tell you you see. And no matter how long you gonna study distant bush, you will not see the hidden TD there unless somone will spot it. And once its spotted, you see it eventhough you would not be able to realize its position if it was not highlighted. Night map does not mean you are blind, thus you can just shoot randomly and pray for lucky hit. The night migh be only visual (so there will be no changes in spotting system) or have certain impact on game (I already proposed some of such changes, but for simplicity say it would lower spot range). Then the game make perfect sense and spotting system as well (actually I will be like incomming nerf of TD's view range in WoT). Of course if you want to make balanced night map, you have to change many more parametres, not only spot/view range, otherwise you make destroyers OP while screwing the game for BBs and carriers. -
Well as for Hood it was not only luck, it was also the problem of old construction. If board was not made of wood (but from steel instead) even that lucky shoot might not cause such crucial penetration and ammo explosion (but again nothing can beat RNG, not even steel plating). As for Prince of Walse, I will have to check it a bit. A decade ago I read quite a nice book about Bismarck, but I do not recal any info about PoW being unable to shoot (maybe I just forget). Anyway we would be able to sink Bismarck many times in game (and if Hood will be present in RN tree, we will be able to sink him as well).

Yea, thats why this testing battle should enable you to try whatever ship setup you would lke (from to stock to elite). ----- Well considering all pros and cons it's not likely this idea will be implemented. Anyway thanks guys for your comments. I thought it was quite good idea, but now I see it's applicable in WG's game so good.
