    Low Tier CVs

AA got nerfed a bit too hard at the low tiers. Right now a Langley TB squad can fly around a fully upgraded Myogi doing several fake runs for a minute plus without losing a single plane - and the Myogi fully upgraded is supposedly about on par with the Yubari! That's really the problem right now at the low tiers. Plane squadrons can take lenghty joyrides over most of the enemy team without having to fear losing more than a plane or two, meaning there's much less pressure on them to set up their attacks quickly or see them weakened considerably.
  2. So much whining. Fires are okay as long as you know to pick your engagements and you're good enough at shooting. Shelling out for a damage control mod upgrade also helps, as does spending the 22.5k per match for the premium repair. Add in that the recovery ability will recover a very lage portion of fire damage and I really am not impressed by this supposed burning apocalypse. Also, if you shoot HE with a battleship at anything that isn't a destroyer, you are doing it wrong. Even the bloodyy Kawachi of all things cna citadel cruisers and pen BBs if you take care to engage at longer range to get plunging shells.

If you want a laugh go read US forum :)

Well guess what? I'll give them sympathy. Because intentinally or not, WG all but [edited]defrauded them. Wether it's one buck or a million, fraud is fraud. And blaming or belittling the victims like people do in this very thread is nothing short of utterly disgusting.

    Max skill points?

Still nope. Even US DDs can still set you on fire with HE after you staked all the-fire chance skills and upgrades.

    Mag explosions

I do when brawling another BB in one of mine and he's foolish enough to show his sides. Especially fun with the Yamato because those 18-inchers laugh at unabgled belt and barbettes of prett much anything.

    IJN Cruiser, Are they better?

The gypsy magic of doing it just after the BB has fired.

    IJN Cruiser, Are they better?

Not anymore you don't. Armor and angling were a thing already before the patch and are considerably ore of one now after the patch. I've been bouncing 16in shells with my Ibuki with some deft angling.

    Max skill points?

There is no full immunity to fire from HE shells. No matter how many modifies you stack, you can still be lit up.

What is wrong with IJN Destroyer line?

No, they didn't. They dismounted the third torpedo launcher before any of the ships was fully commissioned and before 2/3s of the class were even built and they never had any plans to bring it back. You call Montana a papership? Your hatsuharu with a third torp launcher in place of the single-gun mount isn't even a papership, it's complete fantasy. Becuase the 1933 version didn't work. It damn near capsized doing a hard turn under calm conditions and even after initial addition of extra bulges was so atrociously unstable that the IJN considered them not seaworthy after the Tomozuru incident, required extensive rebuilds of the two existing ships and had all other members of the class fully redesigned before even allowing them to finish construction. A 1933 Hatsuharu would be a bigger danger to its own crew than to any enemy ship.

    What happened to DD's?

A: Only against bad BB players. If driven ships like the Kongo and Nagato through "DD lanes" just fine even before the patch. Now, with the increase in maneuverability, there is *zero* reason for any mildly competent BB player to fear these areas.
  11. Magni56

What is wrong with IJN Destroyer line?

That ship would be more fantasy than the Montana.
  12. Lots of WoT prem tanks were also gimmicky. I mean, take a look at the bloody TOG, will ya? No? WoT prem tanks were generally pretty bad for their tier. Type 59 was an exception and that only lasted until prem ammo could be bought for regular credits. And the Sims? It's a Benson with worse concealment (because it can't fit the T8+ concealment upgrade module) and considerably worse torps.

What is wrong with IJN Destroyer line?

The Hatsuharus were already modified into their current in-game stock state at a time where most of the class hadn't been completed, with the two ships that were being immediately put back into construction to implement the same measures. The original armament scheme made them blatantly not seaworthy. So they had to move the single-gun turret and remove one set of torpedos amongst other measures. Later they removed the single gun mount entirely in favour of more AA as they needed more af that and the single-gun turret was of questionable use in that configuration to begin with. It's kinda funny because the only "fully-functioning" Hatsuharus to actually see use were *not* the ones with the unworkable 3*3 torp arrangement.
  14. Magni56

What is wrong with IJN Destroyer line?

Hatsuharus were rather quickly reduced in armament to what they have in-game because trying to give them the same amount of torpedo launchers and guns as the larger Fubukis made them dangerously unstable . Also, the Fubuki in-game is for some reason 3 knots slower than it was historically.

USN Battleships - First Impressions and Reviews

You mean one of the best ships of the IJN battleship tree?
  16. Magni56

    IJN Cruiser, Are they better?

They've become noticeably more survivable with the patch. BBs will still citadel you with a straight shot, but even a tiny bit of angling means cruisers have problems penning and once you're at Ibuki and Zao, even BB guns can have trouble when you're at a severe angle. Torps have become mildly more useful because combined with the tighter turn rates, this new-found survivability actually makes them useable for shotgunning in a brawl.

    New US BB's and Torps

If you do not mount the secondary battery upgrade on the Nagato and Yamato, you are doing it wrong. The Nagato is a natural brawler anyway and the main battery accurracy buff does next to nothing for her in that role and the Yamato's 18.1-inchers are good enough by themselves while her secondaries fully upgraded are a very effective way to keep DDs at bay and make up for the slow turret rotation.

NERF % chance of fires on HE shells!

If you get burned down 1v1 by a cruiser in your BB, you've nobody to blame but yurself. That you think it's a smart idea to try and outrange a cruiser in your BB is a good hint as to why. You're a battleship against a single cruiser! You WANT that fight to be at short range. If at all, it's the *cruiser* who would want to stay at the edge of its gun range so it retains a chance to keep dodging instead of trading hits with an opponent that can hit harder and tank more. Not only that, but damage from fires and HE is almost exclusively *light* damage - meaning the recovery ability will allow a BB to recoup a large majority of it. Also, if you're facing an entire cruiser group by yourself in a situation in which they can keep the range open, you've already made a huge mistake and what follows is merely the punishment for it.

NERF % chance of fires on HE shells!

Sounds like you're complaining about the enemy team beating your team, not about cruisers being oh so OP.
  20. Kinda hard to apply that DPM when a couple citadel hits have blown you out of the water shortly into the fight. AP and HE now both have a place. HE might be a bit overbuffed in terms of fire chance, but the general picture works better than 0.3.0 - both types now make sense to use depending on situation. Oh, and armor very much does make a difference against HE. Slinging HE against the belt will do a lot less than hitting the decks or superstructure and heavily-armored ships tend to flat-out take less damage. Burning BBs is also easier said than done against a good BB player - the recovery ability is very, very effective at getting back HP lost to HE shells and fires. Had my first Dreadnought honor in the New Mexico in a game where I murdered several HE-slinging Clevelands. Lost over 120% of my max HP, but ended the game at slightly above half simply because the repairs kept negating all that light damage from the fires and 6in HE impacts.

    0.3.1 update - First Impressions

It really isn't, though? AP is still the better round when you have an angle with decent chance to score citadel pens and good for plunging fire with BB primaries. HE is good against DDs and BBs if you don't have the pen or angle to hurt them properly with AP. The problem with HE-spamming and burning BBs is that it sitll takes awhile to kill one and pretty much all of it will be light damage, which means popping the recovery ability will restore a huge chunk of it right back. With BBs, I still use msotly AP against both other BBs and CAs. With cruisers, I use HE against BBs and DDs while using AP agianst other cruisers - especially in close. DDs are about the only class where I fire mostly HE and that's not exactly a big change from before the patch.

Has WG gone too far with the change to RNG

Took me a fair few games to adjust, but the new arcs for BB guns are actually blessing once you get used to them. Between that and the accurracy buffs, it's now actually even more viable to go for citadel hits and weakspots at ~8-12km firing AP. Against enemy BBs that don't angle their belt a lot, a well-aimed salvo will now do horrible, horrible things most of the time. And against lighter-armored ones or with a tier difference, it becomes viable to go straight for the magazines to blow the poor guy straight into orbit. Yamato in particular now does horrendous things against other battleships in such a close-range fight - those 18-inchers will go straight through the belt and barbettes of a Nagato or Colorado even at a slight angle and just plain erase them. Needless to say, Amagi and North Carolina fare even worse.

    Gunsound

Some are an improvement, some are not. The 14-inchers sound kinda weakish to be honest and the sound for the various 6-in guns is kinda meh. The 8-inchers are great, though and the sound for Yamato's 18.1in guns is good, too. (Though the old one for the 46cm boomsticks was already pretty damn nice.)
