a t8 light will have a way to do some damage to the t10 and a t10 medium will eat both a maus or an e-100 alive in a second in both of your examples, even tho i don't think wot should ever be comparable to wows considering you are talking about land combat vs sea combat, both the tanks will be able to cause damage to the other one in a way or another none of them have a magical immunity shield with time and good thinking the light tank WILL take down the heavy but a t7 or t8 carrier against an iowa ? no way the iowa is just immune and even if you do get to land one or two hits the iowa player can just laugh and press the repair skill

[Suggestion] Torpedo bombers as hard counter to battleships
Zaods replied to black_beru's topic in Archive
your point is very valid mate but i just want to say if BB weren't able to turn tighter than DDs this wouldn't be such a huge problem would it ? -
that is before t7 afterwards BBs and CAs will have so much aa that jap planes will drop from the sky like flies

[Suggestion] Torpedo bombers as hard counter to battleships
Zaods replied to black_beru's topic in Archive
you are right in a sense the primary objective of a CV was not to be a BB killer it was to be an everything killer torp bombers and dive bombers were accurate and fast enough to take on smaller ships like cruiser and light cruisers and sometimes even destroyers and as you said all could be done from a huge distance with continous attacks and spending a lot less money in terms of ship repairs and replacing ... most standard DBs could put down nearly any surface ship in few hits same goes for torp bombers, WW2 was the end of the battleship era and the start of the carrier era ... but this doesn't fit at all in the game of course considering that first of all is not a simulator and secondly this game is pretty much throwing WW2 ships into a WW1 setting were ships would brawl at very very close ranges, as a result of this balancing carriers is incredibly difficult because they do not fit into what is pretty much a ww1 setting -
if they are as close as you actually claim they get dropped all you have to do is turn towards the torps and they will bounce off your ship since they won't be armed yet so how about you play some carriers yourself and you understand how they work so you can understand how to counter their attacks ... playing a class and learn it is always the best way to counter it ... or you could be lazy and put no effort into trying to learn the game and make a "torps are OP" post on the forums

everybody complaining how 2 coordinated CVs could change the way a match goes and everything ... but it's exactly the same with 2 or 3 coordinated dds
-
what you say is all nice and fun but, just like a carrier shouldn't attack a cruiser because of the AA skill, sometimes YOU HAVE TO ... what if the last enemy alive is an iowa or a north carolina and you are the last one alive in your team and just so happens you are a carrier ? so at that point the enemy should just automatically win because of the magical aa shield those ships have ? your skill should be completely taken out of the game and you should have no chance to save that match for your team ? this is not versatility this does not call to creativity this is a badly balanced game
-
well that's what happens when a battleship can do tighter turns than my car
-
eh crippled not really the bb won't care much having the magic hp regen considering that if you throw your planes at something like a north carolina maybe 2 or 3 planes will ever get to drop their load and then if those torps or bombs get to hit it it's a whole new discussion
-
that is if the bb in question is not a colorado or higher on that tree
-
jap planes are ... well ... delicate to say the least
-
you would be right if all of those bbs that fill matches would be us dds but honestly on t7/8 and onwards matches are almost entirely filled with bbs but most of them are actually japanese bbs
-
you forget my friend that gemiaschy is a russian ship in a russian game
-
did you start dodging when you saw the planes coming ? if not you deserved to be sunk
-
thanks mate !
-
well i'm guessing that's what wargaming is doing ... basing the turning radius based only on the shape of the ship ... well only for battleships anyway since those are the only ships who got changed
-
and that is wrong on so many levels
-
you are not taking in account the mass of the ship and the surface of the rudder at all you are just assuming that all ships have the same rudder with the same power to it and able to achieve the same angle, fusou was never able to be more agile than a kongou and yet in the game she is
-
historically us bbs were used for screening of carrier task forces that's why they had strong aa which is completly different from what they do in the game, right now a north carolina or an iowa are nearly unattackable from the sky while having really strong armor range and armament and are still pretty agile that is too much especially when compared to the jap counterparts like amagi which is not even a battleship but a battlecruiser
-
damn i think i missed it !
-
oh yeah ? how come that a fuso can turns better than a mogami then ?
-
not really if you checked my matches you'd clearly see that my favourite tree is infact ijn CAs and the reason why there are no dds and cvs in a match is not because the mm doesn't like them but because nearly nobody plays them because bbs and cas dominate right now cas because of he+high rof and bbs because now they take less damage from torps and turn like destroyers to me it feels more like YOU are saying "waah my favourite class should own everything".
-
nuking is a really big word when your torps do 3k damage if you're lucky and bbs have a better turning radius than dds
-
good thing that jap cruisers are supposed to be the agile ones ...
-
so at the end of the day a battleship in here can do thighter turns than my car
