you can't hit a full spread not even on an afk battleship ... and the spread is actually the same between manual drop and auto drop which is pretty stupid

maybe we are just missunderstanding which noobs are they protecting maybe it's for all those BB player with complete lack of situational awareness since now they can fit their whole team inbetween the torps with that spread

so why do we even have jap carriers in the game at this point ? screw over their torp spreand and buff the us fighters ... if wg hates jap cvs why do we have them in the game ?

so wg thinks us fighters don't dominate jap squadrons enough so now they need to be able to wipe every single squad i can put up in the air without reloading ? mmh balanced

with the current mecanics the 203s are a more reliable way to deal damage simple as that

a si said i love my mogami too but she doesn't outclass the us counterpart a better wya to put it is that she can put up a fight against it and has the possiblity to win a 1v1 agaisnt it ... outclassing it would mean you have a 100% chance of winning against it at all times ... and no ... no one fires ap with a cruiser in 3.1 there is no point in doing so

you should use her before saying she outclasses it on paper it looks one way but in the game is another reality ... torps are a nice touch but on t8 with 10km of range and the awkward firing arc aren't going to cut it she has the same problem as all ijn CAs which is being very fragile so getting close enough to use them at t8 witohut sinking is quite the task and the 155mm guns don't do nearly enough damage anymore because of the new armor mecanics ... i'm not saying mogami is a bad ship i love my mogami infact but she does not outclass the new orleans she lacks the armor and range to do so not to mention she has pretty poor aa becuase she's a jap

i think the core of the problem is that the game is taking a lot of ships and putting them in a completly different role and setting compared to the irl counterparts. Carriers are way too close to the fight with smaller attacking waves no dedicated screening and not fighting coordinated and organized in task forces. Ships designed for specific roled like for example the atlanta which was designed to be a ship used for aa screening for carrier task forces are instead used as short range brawlers and brutefirepower because sitting next to a carrier protecting it from planes is both boring and offers no reward same goes for ships like NC and iowa they were packed with aa because they would serve as defense for carrier task forces. stuff like jap cruisers were amazing for night fights and that's why they had so many torps too but we have no night fights into the game and a lot of other situation like theese. Of course this is not a simulator and it shouldn't be but my point is trying to balance all this correctly is incredibly difficult if you try to maintain at least some historical accuracy

taking her out ? don't make me laugh even if all those 10 torps hit the target and we both know is not going to happen unless the player in the iowa is not taking any evasive manuver or is afk she will not sink and after the strike she can just magically regain health and keep on going. and if the carrier in question is a japanese one she will lose much more than 5 planes

the reason why this whole thing happened is exactly because you are so focused on one thing i played every tree to understand how it works and i actively play and enjoy all of them and i want balance all across the board you just want your ship to rule everything with little to worry about.

if that name is Iowa she definitely has a chance to survive a lot more than just a canche every attack the CV will launch will result in a heavy losses within the bomber squadrons and unlike BBs or any other ship in the game which have infinite ammo a CV will run out of planes eventually and that eventually turns into quickly when you lose 1-2 squads per attack with other losses within the other squads

airborne torps at the moment do abour 3-4k damage which is just horrible damage but i can work with that the core of the problem is the combined action of strong AA and BBs making tigther turns than my car .... a good CV player against a good BB player will maybe land 3 torp hits and that is about 12k damage but the carrier won't be able to strike for the next 3 minutes ... that is not a good ratio of damage, carriers signed the end of the battleship era, the problem is that we are trying to squeeze and balance carriers in a game that thinks it's about WW2 but is not about WW2 at all. At the moment al that WoWs is doing is taking WW2 ships and shoving them into WW1 scenarios -
jap cruisers do not outclass US cruisers only myoko outclasses the pensacola and that's because pensacola is too weak for her tier ... try to look into the other cruisers US cruisers stomp jap cruisers in all tiers but t7

and here's exactly your problem you do not need to turn the other way unless you are one of those who turn away from the torps instead of turning into them and if that's the case then it's your fault i've played BBs quite a lot and i've done that multiple times dodging airborne torps was already really easy before the patch and now it's literally a joke -
this is far from world of torpedoes dodging torps was already easy before the patch now dodging torps with a BB is just a joke... welcome to world of battleships more likely

next to a minute ? what the heck ? do you play in constant slow motion or something man ? you don't even need to turn another way keep rolling in circle and you will force the planes to relocate multiple times to hit you forcing them in your aa range for quite a long time shooting down most of them
