T5 ranked: Anyone else enjoying it?

Something along these lines? This is atrocious.
  2. Karkong_the_Impaler

    Which research bureau DD??

Don't. Supercruisers it up, especially tier 11. it's made of citadels, covered in just enough wet toilet paper to arm every grenade. Atrocious ballistics, too.

    Detonation?!

DD needs deto flag. Tried druid without when they ran empty, two detos in three games. Probably could do with the module, but... ah well.

    So, the Malta is coming...

Uh... that t9 radar Iowa (whatshernameagain?) with the greatly increased credit reward?

Have I missed the glory days of steel ships?

Yes. We're just here for the slaughter. I can understand everyone complaining, pretending to quit if it gets worse and so on. No, WG won't listen in the end, but it might dull the edge of the grindaknivur a little, keeping this alive for me a bit longer. Star Citizen is testing salvage mechanics... I think it's time to take the reclaimer for a spin, soon.

Have I missed the glory days of steel ships?

What makes you think I of all the people don't understand? Basically it breaks down to "a fool and his money...". Some people are resilient (or at least a scrooge, like I am), some ain't. In worst cases, poor people spend thousands which in turn locks them into some kind of sunken cost fallacy where they can't simply abandon the game. But one can see and understand this while playing the game and still consider it scummy and the person responsible as a despicable and morally corrupt. That everybody else does it and gets rich by it is no excuse, or we would still own slaves, EA most of all.

Didn't even know that term. Holy . Basically unregulated gambling - simply insidious if you're vulnerable to these dark patterns, and let's face it, many are.

Tier 11 super in burning credits.

Yes, on average all carriers are balanced, because for every CV who is winning there is one CV who is losing. This not only sounds bovine excrement, it actually IS bovine excrement: Disable their planes and let them fight with secondaries - same! Give them nukes - same!

Tier 11 super in burning credits.

But the effect of bad carrier vs good carrier is staggering. Similar to DDs, but at least by means of averages and having multiple of them, it's not as bad.

RB = free exp or sanity Dubloons = real world cash or small change doing ranked Steel = CW or ranked Coal = just rolling your face on the keyboard I think they have everything covered.

As steel isn't as hard to come by as it used to be, the less skilled players also can obtain the ships, you're no longer buying into an exclusive club of OP ships. Also tier 11 outgimmicks tier 10 by far, Shiki is just a roadkill of that steamroller and not worth pursuing anymore. On the other hand there are some quite unique other ships available for steel, say, Incomparable, Plymouth with smoke/radar, Austin, the ubiquitous Stalingrad or Ragnar. To be honest, I find the RB ships more attractive than most steel ships. I just wonder when you can get tier 11 premium ships and at what cost. Can't wait for Colbert with a burst fire gimmick.

Serious bug with today's news article about Malta

You can probably write a ticket. Anyone can see you made a grave error in judgement there.

(Yes, I understand why you would say this. Couldn't do your job, either) So, for posterity: As you are well aware, there is no other class that can strike anyone, anywhere. Alone the fact that a carrier is in the game changes the gameplay of torpedo DDs, sneaky light cruisers, cruisers who need to remain hidden behind islands, flanking BBs with good concealment - basically anyone who needs to disengage (apart from the new protected class). And not for the better. By simply making an attack run, the CV can make people deceide to either get for a large chunk of their HP or if they turn into the attack and thus show broadside to the rest of the enemy team. If you enjoy this on the receiving end, you also enjoy playing the deer in deer hunter. Add a competent player who, say, manages to focus DDs and makes a point in spoting them and not farm BBs for big numbers can massively influence the game. Flak is nothing, fighter planes are worse spotters since balans CVs and even if speccing into AA and defAA were worth it, you (thankfully) don't meet a CV every match, but you always can make use of hydro. Ooh, just had an idea: Make defAA additionally act like a submarine radar. And maybe quadruple defAAs effectivenes. Also double the continuous damage for every additional AA bubble you're flying into - so providing covering AA is actually worth it. And most importantly, take away the spotting from the planes that are not dedicated for this task - maybe make enemy ships show up like the submarine radar thingy on the minimap only. Also maybe, just maybe, make fighter consumable great again - maybe make it follow and murder fleeing planes to they don't regenerate? Just a few of these points (the spotting thing, most of all) would make CVs bearable. The only balancing influence is the guy on the other side, doing the same to your team. And the best thing is, the advantage of bovine excrement balancing actually works in your favour here - Both CVs are getting nerfed, so, same same? PS: It took me a while. I admit I was a bit enraged and had to rewrite my response multiple times. I hope this version is polite enough for public consumption.

I assume the Devil didn't get a high enough credit line to pay you for your shriveled soul on short notice.

God doesn't want you to play CVs.
  16. Apparently you haven't improved morale enough. Now reap what you sowed.

I-56 Japanese submarine is eye wateringly bad and makes no sense.

How about you just play it like a DD with a "get out of jail free" card?

Client Split completed today - what's next?

As a WoT beta player, I feel qualified to translate this: "We will find new paper designs or pull them out of our and put them into the game, if you want or not. They're going to be russian and they're as OP as they're supposed to be. Anyone remember KV2? The tank that in reality couldn't turn the turret if didn't stand on level ground and threw a track whenever the road wasn't paved? Just as balans as that thing when the game first came out. You will enjoy, or you go to gulag."

    Napoli or Moskva ?

Depends mainly on your playstyle and your skill. Moskva is quite boring, long range, back and forth or 1/4 speed kiting. You can use your lasers to hit DDs at any range and to use that radar, you actually need to get uncomfortably close to the cap. Skill floor wise, I'd say sitting back and sniping BBs with HE is about as simple as it gets. Napoli is more of a cockroach that survives stupidity that would have killed any other ship and brings zero utility. Troll armor, troll torps, troll everything. But to use it effectively you need to go where you need these characteristics to survive and thus the skill floor is much higher alone for the fact that closer ships tend to attract more incoming fire. For your skill level I'd definitely go with Moskva.

    Introduce border humping damage

Yeah, I can see the appeal. Next thing we need to do is increase BB gun range. No, srsly, you keep chickens in a coop for a reason. If you let them run away any way they like, you'll find your CV at zzz934. Alone the statement that players get "stuck" on the map border disqualifies you from this discussion....

Life without Colbert is possible, but sad.

Tier 11 super in burning credits.

I cannot follow. That was literally what you said: Please elaborate. I understand it's the same lame excuse as with Carriers, they can dumpster everyone, but in the end it's ok, because your CV could do the same. But that is not "balanced"! That's like giving one guy a flame thrower and the other eleven a knife - and that's ok because on the other side someone has a flame thrower, too? Wrong. Because now you have one supershit with it's greater impact to the outcome, see above. Just as with say.. playing tier 7 BB and getting uptiered to tier 9. You can't even pen cruisers and get overmatched by Musashis, your only hope is to fling HE like a second rate Thunderer. Your impact to the outcome of the game is limited! In my experience that doesn't check out. Three of four supershit players I meet are at a rating that is called "plain bad" by WG.

    Introduce border humping damage

You got it the wrong way around, It's not running into the border that sinks ships, it's being shot at that makes ships run into borders. They do this because it can prolong their life as opposed to showing broadside. Also vector addition rapidly displaces the ship, throwing off the aim and certain ships with a high acceleration can pull some insane stunts. Basically you need to devote more of your team's firepower for a longer time than you would, otherwise. Let's say the enemy ship just dodged one BB salvo that would have killed him - that's about 30 seconds he has won, binding enemy forces, getting one more salvo off. But that's not all, you shoot and in the time your shells need to land, he can switch the direction of his slide from one side to the other! Anecdotal evidence? Ok, I and three others tried to kill a halland (?) for about a minute and a half flat, because he kept sliding back and forth. Druid, distance about 12km, as I was already turning away because there were bigger fish to fry. And yeah, I can hit and kill DDs.
