an simple suggestion add ribbon for avoided torpedoes

Yeah, these agressive islands are pesky - but some people apparently have a much harder time doding their insidious attacks. -

Ah, also that thing eats karma. -
@Seraphice Apparently we're down to begging from the occasional frothing - I really believe it's about time you do something soon - and not soon™

A Case against the Puerto Rico
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
Got it, played a round, changed rudder/conceal for engine/rudder shift. Surprisingly it's not really good at killing DDs due to the long reload/low dps even though the guns hit like a truck. And it's true, you get away with unbearable stupidity that gets you deleted in anything resembling a sane cruiser. You pay for this cockroach-like survivability and hard hitting guns with trollish accuracy. If you wiggle this thing a bit like a fat 'murican belly dancer, you are absolutely innert at range - you neither take nor deal damage (yes, hyperbole) AP seems the better choice for shooting many things, especially lesser cruisers like Desmo, even from the front. -

A Case against the Puerto Rico
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
It's a tanky radar cruiser that doesn't mind standing broadside ocassionally - in that regard it's almost unique. Due to "stormtrooper guns" getting closer is preferable anyway - I wonder if I can make it work. Dubs are from last ranked (not sure I can stand the trash that this season proved to be) and from the birthday event and anything tier 10 is much more likely to be played than tier 9 because supershits. I feel a bit disgusted by myself but I changed my mind - once I'm bored enough to finish the last dockyard mission with BBs, I'm going to get it. Shame on me. -

Who won? -
Comrade, don't see it as punishment, see it as an incentive to reach rank 11 where you are allowed to spend real money to continue playing a ship that still hasn't working AA and continue to get blapped by supershit CVs - now just harder than ever before! But rejoice, at least I haven't yet seen four tier 11 CVs in one game. Yet.

Thanks.

Ok, game changing damage: You just move in, spot the DD and blap him. Or force him to smoke up and blind himself/his team and also indicate his position for radar ships or as a target to rake with a few torp salvos. Just put a fighter plane on top to prevent him from leaving. Or finish off a straggler that went behind an island, unreachable for anyone else. Or you focus radar ships, because you can do all this with impunity, say, a nose in Stalingrad hugging an island. This is damage no one else can deal! Ideally you also make him turn away, forcing him to show broadside. The damage is too much to just ignore it untill help arrives, because, well, there is no help available as AA and especially providing AA isn't really working and neither is a fighter cover - as you very well know, all this is for posterity again. Ah, now I get it - instead of blapping a DD, I should rather farm some hapless BBs because that would also get me more damage done? Seriously? I'm too bored to find a reaction gif.

[POLL] Would you consider buying the "Battle Pass" for WoWs?
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Wording a poll is apparently difficult. Yes, I considered it and came to the conclusion to not buy it. -
today we will talk about the Tier 8 premium battleship - ROMA.

Some ships just click. Some just... don't. Find one that does click instead of explaining why it doesn't klick for you and asking for unnecessary buffs? -

You not only make my heart bleed but that of every CL and DD. And some BBs, too. -
I use wows-numbers to check on players with hidden profile, I play music, I check on obscure ships and sometimes I continue to work for a minute while say, the Vermont creeps closer to the enemy at extreme tectonic speeds. For that reason I even run that mod that let's me listen to the game sounds while alt tabbing... I really don't think this deserves any kind of punishement

Balance CVs? First of all just take away the spotting from the CV planes. At most leave some slowly updated icons on the minimap, so you get information on where the enemy is but not really useful information for aiming your guns. This would basically be in line what a non dedicated forward observer could provide, it won't change much of the CV gameplay and the main thing is, it won't up the enemies gameplay so hard. You went dark to survive? Ok, dodge the plane attack, but you don't have to dodge the shells of five others who are shooting you at the same time while taking care to show not your weak parts to either of them. This is the thing @Seraphice pretends to not understand in that other thread - yes, the spreadsheet says the damage of the CV is in line with other ships, but it's relevant, game changing damage! And most of all, it's the casual spotting to death! It's the forcing the enemy team to show broadside when dodging the plane attack! An the best thing is, this won't even hurt potato CV players as competent spotting isn't their forte in the first place - this will just limit the CVs casual collateral damage.

What is balancing factor of SAP?
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to HackoXakepa's topic in General Discussion
SAP is just one tool in the box of gimmicks. I find burst fire for supershits much worse. -
Emden also had torps. Front launched and therfore probably useful.

Which research bureau DD??
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Druid doesn't hunt DDs, it murders them. What are they going to do? Shoot at you? Murder them in return. Torp you? Well, use your long duration hydro and your agility/acceleration to just thread through. Yes, you have a bad concealment, but you can have as low 6.6km. Now if you both steam ahead, the Shima opens up when about broadside while turning away. Or one of the baguette DDs that's farming a BB - just get close and once you open up, just melt him. If you have a friendly spotter, use smoke. Or my favourite, Ragnar - just do the same but don't use smoke if he is below 7.5km. That thing is so sluggish and so many Ragnar players try to get non-penetrations from your HE on their belt while just breaking and accelerating again. There is basically no DD that can compete in a one on one gunfight. The skill required is to make these fights as unfair and one sided as possible, that means, as little interference from the rest of the enemy team as one can manage. Yes there are some tricks they could do, but in 1200 games I've seen these very, very rarely. For example that super unicum Smaland that recognized the alpha predator after the first round of gunfire exchange and stuck to trying to torp me, rendering it ineffective. Or that Khaba, that didn't turn but tried to charge, nose in - but in the end he tried to torp, because he was at half health, also the rest of my team was also shooting at him while I was sitting safe and snug behind an island. Turning broadside with half health at short ranges is not advisable. Besides, just yesterday I used a Vermont to sneak up on a Yamato to 4km, to murder him. Two brothers, 1 row. That also works with a Druid. Yes, it is a bit skill dependant. Some very competent players use it as an open water gunboat, omitting all concealment. That works, too. -

Help with a few IJN premium BB's
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Yes, that ammo was bad, but it had a quirk where you got full pens on DD at range, when that was still a thing. Hilarious, I tell you. I actually can recommend Ashitaka, I got it in a container and it remains goto when I have to play tier 7. Basically, assume a kiting position and abuse your shell volume and speed. -

Ashitaka is a recycled old A hull Amagi which was reportedly so atrocious, it was pulled from the game. It's a battlecruiser, don't be fooled. For AA they use harsh words and the ocassional flung bottle. -
Just being paranoid doesn't mean that not everyone is out there to get you.
