Yes, this is intentional. They just mean variable effects, such as smoke or firing penalty doesn't affect it.

IIRC it depends on the height of your ship, taller ships get spotted more easily, but I could be wrong....

Different arguments can be made for different ships. It's play style dependant. Also, the Yamato hull with it's cheeks isn't really as bad as people make it out to be, because bow in (and backpedalling, because you don't want to joust) is perfectly serviceable in a 1 on 1 brawl. That octagonal citadel works as intended then, just ignore the rear turret - that's an idiot trap.

No. I don't mind anyone having "fun" with CVs in coop. It's just when other players are getting involved. No, this is not a discussion - I'm telling you why you are wrong, but you won't listen.

Some players sure enjoy playing a class that, at it's core, removes the fun for others. Call me a hopeless optimist, but I still believe in humanity, so I assume those are a minority.

Not disagreeing. After all, there are multiple nouances of loathing for that scummy class. The worst of them are the supershit CVs, though. Can't even think of an appropriate word that conveys my feelings for them...
