    Guess why. Nope. Who doesn't want a much faster boat? The issues were what prevented wider adoption. That and the operating cost.

    If the hull displaces the water, there is an inherent speed limit called the "displacement speed": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_speed The main issue with hydrofoils is that they need to be able to keep the hull above the waves. This reliably works in protected areas like lakes or rivers - but usually not on the ocean. Just look at the pictures, all done with little or minimal waves: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofoil I've been told sailing a semi foiling yacht is ardorous, if you go down a wave, you pick up speed, it starts foiling untill it crashes into the coming wave, decelerating you hard. Add this to the persistent rolling. Imagine doing this going around the world, day in, day out...

    What is the hardest ship to play?

    Which ship - discounting carriers - is in your opinion the hardest ship to play. Not asking which ship you are bad in (I have enough of these), I'm looking for the ship with the highest skill floor and while we're at it, the ship with the highest skill ceiling, too. I ask you to not only drop names but reason a bit. In my opinion it's light cruisers, unlike a DD you posess a citadel and disintegrate much, much faster and you're less agile, so positioning is key. You posess awesome firepower, getting it to bear while not being deleted at the same time is a hard task. If I had to choose skill floor wise, I'd say Austin, as it seems even more fragile and the damage output is anemic without MBRB and you have to manage your torps - which don't come unexpected because you're not as stealthy as a DD. Radar mino comes a close second, smoke Mino (and Smolensk) can be hectic, too, but you retain that "get out of jail free card". Manually dodging single shells in the "dim candle" Colbert build is also tricky, but since you bring rudder and engine mod, you're more agile and a radar Mino without stealth radar is probably too hard. Skill ceiling wise, I'd put radar mino on top because spotting and deleting DDs is such a powerful combo. Opinions?

    As a Colbert enjoyer, I am not convinced. Smoke up, launch semi orbital shells to rain on enemy BBs, dump a literal wall of skill in the enemy direction ever so often and manage to not get hit by torps while doing so. Yes, when spotted, you have a harder time, but you could make use of islands, too, for increased protection against everything. Smoke isn't even necessary. Unlike Smolensk, which can't lob shells over any kind of hurdle.

    Yeah, that could be "fun and engaging" if you can't go faster than your displacement speed in half the games due to waves. Spreadsheet says we all enjoy being shafted by random game mechanics. Also I-56. Also Russian subs, probably coming with Type 53-58 nuclear torpedo, for the archivement of superior balans, comrade.

    I agree that a Marceau is not easy prey for CVs - but what you fail to acknowledge is that it's simply not fun to be continuously shat upon. Try a Colbert when the Malta wants you dead... you dodge four, five carpet bombings and suddenly he gets lucky and half your ship is gone! CL used to have good AA as compensation for being arguably the hardest class to play (discounting smoke campers, but I digress) but that... just went away with the "AA is uncomfortable" argument.

    Yes, the sheer amount of gimmicks at tier 10 and beyond can overwhelm new players. But to me, the atrocious show that was T5 bronze ranked with it's lack of gimmicks and ... let's politely call it "questionable balancing", it's just boringly slow paced. The lower tiers have become a prowling ground for seal clubbers and stats padders - alone the amount of bots you mentioned kills this game type for me, I'd rather skip it with free exp than suffer through this. And untill that hasn't been rectified, there is no salvation to be had for the low tiers.

    If you want to know how much it is Europe, you can simply compare the landmass - it's 3% (and 10% of the population, according to wikipedia) So, yes, you're entirely correct but it really isn't relevant. Then, on the other hand, being european isn't much of a feat all by itself, it's after all just an arbitrary line drawn on a map. Personally, I'd give these countries their own stunted tech trees - just cut them of where the reasonable fantasy ends, let them end at tier 5 or whereever is plausible. Unfortunately, with the Balans fantasy tech tree, they've not only opend the door to the worst bovine excrement, they also tore down the walls, dopped the stones down Mount Doom and then salted the ground where that door ever stood... so, ah well, I don't mind, it's an arcade game for me anyway - I mean, come on, homing torpedos?

    Madame Marceau and I getting acquainted. The first evenings were.. uh. Difficult. Getting to know her quirks, what she likes, what she doesn't. But by now it's getting more comfortable, riding her hard is her thing, I guess. I liked slapping the Sejong best, but the fire chance is also heart warming, I think.     I'm mostly concerned that the tree doesn't feel consistent in the abilities of the respective DDs if you mix different designs from different nations.

    Turn off windows notifications. Just type "notifications" in the windows thingy in the lower left corner (no matter what language your OS is set to) and then make sure it's turned off. At least I don't get any warnings when I alt tab - and I alt tab a lot, just not for long.

    I feel torps on cruisers (or on gunboat DDs like the Marceau) are much less valueable because the enemy expects them at longer ranges. They only add a bit of comfort when the pesky BB tries to push you around a corner or for area denial. Shima was my first Tier X, a long time ago, but since then people learned to not straightline all the time and I personally don't get good results with torps anymore. Skill issue, I guess. Well, apart from Mino: Torp one or two in front of his bow, to make him hit the brakes, dump the rest a few seconds later at the position where he's going to be and enjoy imagining his experience.

    I play radar memetaur, with great success in the 1 on 1 brawl where you have tools to deal with about everyone. It's just not nearly as much fun as Colbert with engine & rudder shift mod where you don't feel forced to take crap positions and can't juke yourself out of the trouble you facerolled yourself into. Yes, memetaur is probably even harder but can have the biggest impact.

Thanks for the answer - but this is so unlike the WG psychological warfare department, that I'm still looking for the fly in the ointment: So, just to make it clear - there is nothing wrong with waiting untill I see where I end up with my battle pass points and then deceiding to get the ship or not? Where is the catch?
