We already asked @Seraphice to consider letting CVs spot only on the minimap - I understand they tried it and didn't follow up on this. Reasons? None given, but considering someone higher up also implemented the automatic ASW for carriers, I assume that special someone is not much in favour of any changes to his protected class.

No one cares or talks about coop and balancing certainly isn't necessary for managing in a coop game where the skill floor is basically the ability to press W. The only complaint regarding coop worth noting is that some ships manage to kill the bots faster than others - but still nobody really cares. -

The amount of BBs in randoms are oppressive. They need a culling or, a better counter so they're no longer dominating the matchmaking queues. -

Alt Tab and forget they started a game? Start the game and then go for an extended sitting? Narcolepsy? The first item on the list and the only one that I consider to be reasonably plausible could be solved with that simple mod that plays game sounds when alt tabbed - but WG: "Nah man, let's introduce an unneccessarily complicated penalty system". -

Thing is, you would need to compensate for removing the homing (and I agree the homing thing is vile), say, by doing higher damage per torpedo. Or giving the subs higher speed to get into position. They've put the premium german shotgunning sub in development hell for a reason. What would have been needed is something that doesn't work against DDs well but is highly effective against CVs, BBs and camping cruisers, because that is the prevalent issue in the current gameplay. An actual counter to CVs where the team can deceide if they wish to try and defend him; A reason to make the CV move instead of staying anchored all game, an actual threat, forcing the CV to do things he might not want to do at that point in time, affecting his gameplay, just like he affects everyone elses gameplay. Now that I think of it, the homing torps are really annoying on the receiving end, but the effect they have, especially the crying of the BBabies show it reasonably works. Of course someone came and added speshul protection to their favourite class.... Not that subs fit into the game or anything, you notice how much artistic freedom they needed to take to integrate them into the game, but anything that counters BBs is a welcome addition. -

Leaving the game because the baby cries or the courier is at the door or your wife screams at you while waving a roller pin are all acceptable und unexpected things why to afk. That happens, you can't prevent it. But I do not really agree that you shouldn't get the afk punishment, because - you know, basically you afk'd. Game crashes are a double edged sword, because you're not afk'ing per se, you're trying to get into the game as fast as possible (usually to find yourself sunk). On the other hand one can argue that you're responsible to have a clean installation and working components, but I feel that the punishment in a crash situation is really adding insult to injury. Also a false positive is always the price to pay for a system like this and tbh, the amount of players that afk from the start - usually deep red and/or pink DDs - haven't changed much in my impression. Maybe @Seraphice can share numbers on the effectivness of the measure? And while we're at it, does the "report AFK" have any influence in this punishment? Does that report even work beyond a -1 Karma? -

Here at least one isn't stupefied by the... extremely simplistic attempt to prolong games as a "countermeasure" to steamrolls, one can actually insinuate deliberation. Can we remove the overmatch anything BBs from randoms, too, for a while - pretty please? They're annoying there, too. Incidentally much like the other things you don't allow in CW for a reason. -
I have 50k and can't deceide what to get next - But as long as Gibraltar is enticing and I'm not in the mood for something fresh...

I like Gibraltar very much, but then, I also like Druid, incidentally both ships I can make work. What makes it so fun is the acceleration, it's a heavy cruiser with the dancing shoes of a light cruiser. Armor is decent, you can bounce a lot if you angle right at short ranges, you can dodge a lot at long ranges (not Colbert amounts of dodge!). At medium ranges BBs hurt. The stern is a giant citadel. But that acceleration - Colbert with engine mod is sluggish after you played Gibraltar... Hector sounds enticing untill you notice it's tier 9 which is the new crap tier, getting shafted by supershits. Alone for that reason I'd abstain from getting it, so, no, I don't have it either. Basically these ships can't be compared, with smoke firing penalty which is about equal to the Hectors concealment, they do entirely different things and let me make it entirely clear - I cannot recommend the ship to anyone. Like Druid, it just clicks with me and I can make it work, but this is highly subjective. Gibraltar is one of the least played ships at tier 10 and is generally considered to be the worst RB pick. Due dilligence would be at least watching some youtube videos (or the replays I posted in the other thread).

It's akin to letting the coop bots move at 1/4 speed and expect more joy as a result. What's wrong with these people? A short game is one of the SYMPTOMS of a steamroll, not the CAUSE.
