Yeah, the amount of fire spammers is too low if bbabies get away without.

Years later, still not figured out how to spawn ships evenly
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
I think the spawn is deliberately antimetric so it's not a head on clash but one side needs to push and the other needs to delay the enemy superior numbers. Now considering that the normal symmetric spawn already is a challenge for the tactically challenged, I'm not sure it's a good idea. Even then people abandon their flank to lemming train elsewhere - this is basically the fulfillment of some players desires. But seriously, one look at the map and you know what to expect. If you rush in the cap, you get what you deserve. Also, oblivious Ise players are rather the norm than the excepton. -
Well, if someone DCPs right away, you can be sure the permafire sticks... while, it maybe not a cure against BBabies, but it certainly helps culling them.

How to fix the biggest problem with the ranked queue

@Seraphice Just notifying you of this thread, so you can't say that you have never heard anyone complain about the abundance of BBs, again. -
West Virginia 1944 is going to be a great pick

These are at least believable. But once you go down the rabbit hole of the great german/russian carrier battle that happened in the baltic sea in '41... -

More than russian paper ships? Or german paper ships now, for that matter? -
Psst, it's a conspiracy! And the hallmark of a really, really great conspiracy is that going on in plain sight and supported by implausible amounts of people sworn to secrecy. And the best thing? This works! Apart from the single friend of a cousins wife who came clean and told the truth... the reptiloid people are among us!

Alternative airstrike mode

This, mostly. Let's see if this will make it finally into the game. -

Alternative airstrike mode
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Karkong_the_Impaler's topic in General Discussion
This is still unclear: Why would that be important? Is that a spotting mechanic thing, so the one relaying isn't receiving spotting dmg reward anymore when your ASW plane spots instead? The one he can't spot without it being spotted, but I disgress... -
Only the one designed for ruining a CVs day. Just a little, just as in as much as a CV ruins my gameplay experience. I mean, it even takes me a few minutes to go there with a pack of migraine dildos, it can never be as bad as a surface ship experience. And that's not even counting getting spotted to death.... I even promise to not use it on other targets apart from supershits.... much. PS: I'd even offer to supertest this thing, if you'll have me. No special reason.

Yeah, it's insulting, that's what it is. Also, 4501 to CVs with, where? Oh boy, that makes you so salty. Pro tip: Quit. Pro tip2: Never do this again.

West Virginia 1944 is going to be a great pick

My compassion with BB players is sorely lacking. Especially with those who profit from not having to manually aim a lot of their DPM. -

Maybe late to the party. And certainly not one to kite. But at least really, really hard to overextend in. -
Ok, this seems to be a real issue here. Please take a long and hard look at that graph. What do you think the curve looks like after 10 000 dice rolls? What do you think the curve looks like after 10 000 dice rolls with not only one but a lot of dice? Yes, there is a possibility that you always get the trash team. But it's extremely unlikely. One can argue that this is not optimal and one should take player skill into consideration, but thats something where I happily agree to disagree. Personally, I'd use skill based MM to balance divs, because tryhard divs are skewing the MM just like tuberous plant divs - but this is not what WG does.

Proposal for a new role in battle
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to ANMakxs's topic in General Discussion
When the only tool you posess is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. When you use a hammer where you should have used a screwdriver, you're incompetent. When you deliberately refuse to use a screwdriver after being told, claiming you know better, you're deluded. @Andrewbassg 9/10 for trolling, no one can be this deluded and still have uncontrolled access to the internet. -
Nah man, I don't mind all that. But coming here, demanding an easier time while at the same time spouting conspiracy theories about rigged matchmaking - man, why? Either you don't care or you do. If you don't care, just accept your losses as representative of your unwillingness to improve. If you realize you do care, there are many resources available to help you improve. Start with this:

Proposal for a new role in battle
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to ANMakxs's topic in General Discussion
Man, I've said it before, your're the apocryphal chess playing pigeon. You throw over all the pieces, crap on the board and strut around victorious. Respect is earned, not demanded. What you consider to be "respect" is to "respect your authority" or "respect your opinions" as... I can't even say... as valid? That seems far fetched, but is probably what you think you deserve. But the issue is, you only post bovine excrement. And you don't earn "respect" with that, you farm ridicule. Come on man, I even watched your awful replays and wasted an hour of my life doing that. Yeah, I admit, it was a bit of a guilty pleasure, like watching a train wreck in slow motion and while I was scalding in my criticism, because you're annoying as , I still gave you advice on what you do wrong. But your first move is entirely orthogonal, you start to excuse and redefine your sniping as "open water gunboating" and believing you did a good job. You know why you survived so long in these games? You weren't a threat to anyone. Nobody shot you, because you were the most harmless opponent, horribly out of position, farming the wrong targets - literally everyone else was more important. Also, I hope you have tipped that border well after humping it so hard. And, for sake, you're not even ashamed when I point out your great archievement of potential damage was you lying on the bottom of a trench with your hands over your head, weeping, while your comrades were mowed down by machine gun fire. How in seven hells can you let that stand? That's like one of Donald Trumps cronies smilingly declaring she'd rather believe alternate facts while the world looks on, aghast of the audacity to say something this monumentally while expecting to get away with it. -

why are ranked teams so bad?
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Ijime_Dame_Zettai's topic in General Discussion
But how do you improve when you blame external influences and not your own lack of competence? -
With you they succeeded, self perception nonwithstanding. But there are more players like you around, demanding better results without the will to improve like @Mr_Damager , they all fit into your very small car, including oversized shoes and funny hairdo. I wish. Also, schooling oblivious people with refined posts is worth way more than 10 monetary units (unless Krugerrand) in my opinion. They could pay me in better personalized RNG or manipulate matchmaking in my favour. Well, it depends. If you are bad and come to complain about your team, blaming them for your stats, you get laughed out of the door. If you come to complain about getting unfairly citadelled while broadside, you get some laughs and some snickering people telling you how play. If you come to complain that CV spotting is a crap mechanic, no one will laugh at you, because it's a crap mechanic and you are right. And if you simply ask for help without bitching, most people will do so instantly. It's almost as if you reap what you sow....
-
You press battle, you roll the dice for your team. The team can be bad, the team can be good, on average - it's average. With only one factor for you to influence - yourself. If you do good, you win more than you lose. Again, on average.
-
Maybe "it depends"? Say, brawl matchmaking is manipulated, you get stacked against equal opponents - unfortunately the system has no prior knowledge of your capabilities and happily stacks super unicums vs potatos. And even later, it's too much to ask for a tryhard div of unicums to wait for an acceptable match, so you get matched with them anyway. And I get matched against players with a win rate 20% better than I am in one on one .... so the system is basically dead on arrival. CW matchmaking of course not, there you try to stack your advantages against an enemy who does the same. But anywhere where you get stacked against truly random opponents, say, ranked without divisions, is where it applies absolutely, again discounting cheaters and such. Was that the question?
-
Please, you can calculate the averages and it's not even difficult. You can even try it yourself, roll 10 000 dice, the chance to get all sixes is quite low. Look, it's a Gauss distribution! Yes, you can always get lucky or always get unlucky with matchmaking. It's just that the chance for that is very, very low. On average you get the same matchmaking as everyone else. Not counting unicum divs, as they can skew the chances just by teaming up, but that seems to be acceptable and why they're called tryhard. Ok, do I get this right: You claim your stats are the result of matchmaking imbalance and that you're actually a bad player who got lucky? Well then - that's not smarter than the tuberous plants who claim it's the phases of the moon, but at least you're not bitching, so be my guest. And I'd still rather have you on my team, if only for the luck you apparently have.

Wait what!? I wasn't excusing, I was explaining to you the basics of stochastics. Learn or don't, it's the same to me.
