can we have an explanation please WG
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to HMS_Britannia's topic in General Discussion
Srsly, they comment on sound bugs and the "sell the duckling for commander exp feature", but they're not even recognizing this issue here? They're not even commenting on it?! Yes, a community manager is just like human resources manager - they certainly not working in the interest of their subjects, I understand that. But come on, just ignoring this issue isn't making it go away... and the worst thing is that this implicates it's an issue beyond the ability for WG to fix, probably because of spaghetti code. Just yesterday I missed four Tiger '59 salvos on a broadside Benham - then he was angled and didn't die. We lost the ranked match because of that! It's me up, because I like fast firing ships, Druid, Colbert, Tiger '59 and they all suffer the worst - quick reaction gunning for a DD combined with slow flight times and when you notice you should have double Xed the target, he's gone again. BBs (or for that matter CVs) don't suffer, there is enough time to triple X a target between salvos, so this appears to be a low priority. @YabbaDuckoe @Seraphice Yeah, presumptuous, but the food is complaining. -

Not going to deny that, there is a reason I don't play Schlieffen nor the british Battlecruisers (apart from the looooong boy, who actually looks very good). Also don't speak it's name. -

The young can't imagine the imprint this piece of left in our souls. Yes, it has been buffed more times than a pimp's car, but if there is one ship I'll never buy again, not even when the T9 snowflakes are steel, is this abomination. -

To clarify, I wasn't talking about Coop because you could literally play a tugboat and roll your face on the keyboard and still win. Coop also doesn't help playing against other players, the only thing you might learn is how a ship handles. I'd entirely refrain from it, you only gain bad habits. Coop is useful for farming snowflakes in the christmass event or if you can be arsed to jump through the hoops for some missions, because, say, 10 wins take about as much time as one win in randoms. Operations are a bit harder, this you can actually use to improve your gunnery on straightliners so you can reliably citadel them, or as much as RNG allows you to (and understand that it's not always you failing to aim) but then, a common joke is that "some players of secondary ships sure profit from not having to aim manually" and that's apparently a whole game mode that does the same. I have only little experience, but apparently some people enjoy it. German BBs are the hardest to play sucessfully, knowing when to push, when to tank, when to kite, that only comes with experience. One can reliably find, the worst players on your team playing german battleships (Preussen line) or battlecruisers (Schlieffen line). Either they just fall face first on the W key and die inside of a timeframe best measured in seconds or they try to snipe from max range - the shell speed even allows this, it's just that dispersion and penetration says no. Yamato and it's ilk don't even care about positioning, thanks to the fun™ overmatch mechanic: https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Armor_thresholds Just beware that the yamato has an octagonal citadel, the infamous cheek, seen as a severe disadvantage when brawling - be advised that you can simply nose in straight and then it works like intended. That's also a lesson to learn, when to ignore your rear turret - just regard it as an idiot trap, trying to lure you into showing too much broadside. Yamato has 2/3 of it's firepower up front, another advantage in this regard. Playing lower tiers to get better, I happily agree to disagree here - I think there is little value in playing the seal clubbing tiers over and over again, they teach you nothing - For BBs it's not so bad as the gameplay doesn't really change much, but say, radar only starts regularily at tier 8 and that's a huge difference for DDs. -

Japanese BB line. Probably the easiest to play. Just beware, the tier 9 is a stinker. Also: Can't recommend Yuro enough: -
Man, he even explained that he is demented. Just look at how erratically his text jumps back and forth, it's a live transmission of his meandering thought processes and creepy as hell to read. He needs professional help.

What the most likely stupi.. ehh "feature" WG is going to pull next
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to MarChil's topic in General Discussion
I double dare you. -
This implies people are stupid enough to pay him for that - I find that quite insulting.

It will enjoy the CV or it gets this supercontainer again. -
Colbert is one of the lightest cruisers in the game, way squishier than the nominally even lighter cruisers Marecau since it does feature a citadel and wet toilet paper armor - just enough to arm every ap shell sent your way.

Side panels and minimap: WG, WTF?
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Andunedhel_GC's topic in General Discussion
So he rolled that back. That's nice. Thanks for the update. -

Yeah, I knew the second I read that bovine excrement handwavium explanation on where the planes will actually come from. They started this trend with the dutch and now it's taking on grotesque forms. Also Yamato airstrike when? -
What exactly is a PvE build?

I'm not sure I would like to take the bad players back to randoms.

Didn't they remove these mods that tell you what friendly is spotted, because it gave you too easy information? Same as cooldown timers, basically everything you mentioned? That's what I loathe about the mods, when you're used to them and then they stop working. If they're back.. well... modstation Also, assuming the radar cruiser next to you is too dumb is basically not the worst assumption to work under -
Connection isse?

Illinois New Premium T9 RB ship
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Wrong tier for randoms, but now that you say it, in an exclusive game mode where it doesn't get uptiered.... could work. Would I spend RB? Probably not unless I have Vampire II. And even then it's a hard competition between this and whatshername... the new creeping smoke he spammer. -

Aslain needs a torrent client, modstation works only on the odd days of a week after a patch, so it's vanilla for me, currently. I miss the black hole port the most, the one that prevented WG mining cryptocurrency on your graphics card while idling in port. -
Thanks, Wargaming. Seriously.
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Varian_Dorn's topic in General Discussion
Well, I use "black hole" usually, because that prevents WG to mine cryptocurrency in the background while idling in port. Entirely unappalling, apart from the free commander exp you can get by dismissing the duck commanders. That was a nice feature, though. I use "voice remover" whenever neccessary, say, Ovetchkin. I don't care the least about pure flavour commanders and I have turned off any sci fi and other idiotic camos, I want to play a WW2 themed ship game. If you enjoy quacky duck sounds or transformer sounds, well, whatever floats your boat. Nah, man, you're ignoring the elephant in the room - all the bovine excrement that has also been added. As if the complaints were just complaints because everone here is a miser. Also begging for your personal filter bubble in a forum is laughable at best. Edit: Somehow borked up the editing, the gist remains the same. -
They're in the game so trash players can pay to "win". For every supershit they play, there might be good supershit player on the other side. They're a force multiplier, just like T8 vs T10, and for some 0*1.2 just means that they lose even harder. But they can have a feeling of superiority because they get a bonus to exp and also because individual battles can go in a supershits favour. It's just a better ship - but in total, the trash players are just detracting harder from your chance to win.
