Patch 11.4.... the age of ROFLSTOMP
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to illy's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but the worst ones are those who barely manage a 45% win rate at tier 10 and then blame and abuse their team. Good riddance, mate... -

You are being trolled. Just put him on ignore. No sane person could spew forth this asinine BS and - in his benefit - the only conclusion is that it is malicious. -
The most frustrating game.

He is a troll, plain and simple. He does the best to enrage everyone in the forum - and just look, every thread he participates is being intentionally derailed. And that's not all, he continues this in the game! I admit, I'm not highly tolerant of important classes being played by utter potatos, but that's basically bad game design, get the bad CV and you have it disproportionally harder to win. But here I want to make the case that he should be banned from the game as well or at least relegated to coop forever, not for his apparent and/or utter lack of skills but for the intention to cause grief to his own team. He thrives on the rage and the insults. It's the poor players revenge for being bad at the game, just like the teamkillers from not so long ago. -

Ranked MM: Time to balance supercruisers
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
I see your cruiser issue and raise you a gunboat DD vs torpedo DD issue Yes, matchmaking should take these things into account, it's just way too hard to do. They can't/won't even balance by player skill when they say they will, just look at the last brawl, I had games with a 14% average win rate difference. Because they only took the brawl performance into account and didn't want the poor 9 man unicum divisions to wait for 40 minutes to find a match, because that would be "unacceptable". Unfortunately it apparently isn't unacceptable for wargaming to get steamrolled by unicum divisions. So. Yes, I think they should divide heavy and light cruisers up equally. They won't. I do not agree that they need their own skill tree, no more fire protection for Stalingrad is basically a sorely needed nerf. -

Guys, you are being trolled. I would insert the fastmotion [edited] bingo card, but they deleted the thread unfortunately and I can't find it anymore. But when he tells you to look for a guru or that he has never lost an argument in his life, you will know. -
Dear Wargaming. Please nerf smokescreen.

I learned a lot from his videos -
People just enter the game because they need a "win" for snowflakes or whatever, just suicide to start the next game. Usually even the very little damage they do (they usually shoot until they die) is enough, but when you're suddenly alone against all the bots in a ship that relies on a spotter. Thanks, WG for this beautiful mechanic of being forced to play bot games with ships you don't like.
-
Yes, I understand, some people will probably never notice the difference with or without flags apart from that deto flag, that is easy to grasp. Using one in ranked is common courtesy, just like not being AFK. So, STFU right back at you if you can't make that tiny team effort.
-
Basically - yes. Just like trash players shouldn't play CV if they suck because the team usually has a hard time compensating that failure. I also don't like masturbating with a cheesegrater and I can see no elitism there, either. Seriously, it's a team effort game. I think it's simply impolite towards your team, at least in ranked.

For some reason they don't want DDs to be the counter to submarines. Does anyone know the exact reasoning?

Ships that playing runs the risk of getting reported.

What is that OP? Supershits, Carriers and especially supercarriers. None of the above are remotely as toxic. -
I'm letting you in on a 'secret'. You are being trolled.

The detonation mechanic IS fun and engaging - for the opposing player. The last time it happened I didn't stop shooting for three seconds because I couldn't believe it. I rather liked the 10 deto flag reward, that was a fun way of telling you to equip them, a bit of compensation for your game being cut short and it was a bit of a risk you could take to receive them for the use in relevant game modes. But since DDs are quite important for multiple purposes, losing one early on is just... stupid. Maybe they could increase the deto chance over time? The first ten minutes it's zero, then it rapidly increases for those without a flag. And the flag just halves the chance. And the chance to detonate should be equal for everyone, not just an issue for DDs. And make it so CVs can't detonate anyone. And make supershits detonate right at the start of the game. And supercarriers should detonate in port, right along with their computer and their house.
-
That is a money sink. And now with the economy changes it doesn't work going fully flagged. After spending 400 million on flags in the course of a few months, I cut down on their use quite hard. And then imagine "poor" people, playing superships (which I don't), skimping on deto flags.... works as intended and expected, thanks WG

What is the last fun "Premium" ship that you actually bought (and that was available ONLY for Doubloons or Real Money in Premium Shop)?

Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
It's entirely different to other DDs. No Alpha to speak of (although I've devstruck a Halland or two - they just melt), positioning is of utmost importance. You need an entirely new skillset for dodging BB HE at medium ranges, you're visible from space, the hydro is nice but short ranged, slow, the depth charges launch to the rear (try to run a sub down that simply runs away) If you need to ask that question, watch a few vids about it on youtube, substract the delta your own skill and of course the fact that these videos never show unlucky games. -
Superships feel like a cheesy halloween game mode

There is a new wargaming survey, just make sure to tell them you enjoyed the brawl because there were no subs, so superships and certainly no supercarriers. -

Seriously, I avoid these, let's politely call them "cheesy", event game modes for a reason. Take a look at supercarriers, it's now like your game has not only a first timer (round time), or a second timer (cap point win) but it has a THIRD timer. When will the enemy CV chew up your ship and can you do something meaningful until then? When you thought balans fantasy CVs were bad enough, WG shows you how wrong you were. Or consider these alternate fire mode for cruisers. Found someone not perfectly angling? Punish him with increased accuracy! Ok, that might even be interesting in a cruiser vs. cruiser setup, but someone radared a DD? Blap it in seconds, even a Petro radar is enough! Now the DD needs someone to spot radar cruisers or even other DDs, because if he gets spotted first and has a supercruiser in fighting distance, he's done for. That's not even considering islands or supercruisers who bring their own radar. A propos petro, can't wait for tier 11 Petro, it's probably featuring a totally realistic paper design of a 1950s madmans scrabbling of a laser gun, pumping out a continuous stream of 5k dmg per second. I used to play tier 10 so I'm not uptiered and player skill is - all other variables being equal - deceisive. Now you have tier 11 trash players rolling their faces on the keyboard without ever looking up, usually on my side, trying to purchase skill and still failing hard, the enemy side features a super unicum with an average 150k+ dmg and you're only along for the ride and there is just nothing you can do about it. -
Please guys, you defeat a troll by just putting him on the ignore list. I do the same with potato players ingame, that has the added advantage of: a) seeing known facerollers right at the start of the game, without the need for potat alert or somesuch. b) not getting notified of their "ideas", i.E. pings on the map, requests for "intelligence data" which, when provided, just leads to no results and their ideas about tactics ("let's rush mid!") c) much less bitching and moaning when i.E. you murder an immobile broadside sherman in the smoke who thinks he's not only invisible but incorporeal. Unfortunately the ingame ignore list doesn't carry over to the forums, I can definitely notice a trend right in this thread. Also unfortunately some potatos are really nice people, but you can't have everything. PS: Beware, that Potato Alert data is also skewed, I noticed "good" players which in reality suck really hard because they usually play tier 4 where they club seals all day long... the only reason I can think of is to pad their stats. You notice it by just looking at tier 10. Also, hidden stats aren't really hidden on wows-numbers.com, just look for their clan, their recent transfers and if you're lucky, you can make an educated guess by the colour of their name.

The Flying Dog of the Sea, his singing by song, and he hissing by chorus to his own song, a lovely song, to the same song, just a little slower. My friend Paul wrote this song, where I take him to the lake the other day and it goes, 'Merry Christmas for us, we all have been there and listened to this song, but we have a lot in common with the man who had the pleasure of singing. It's a lovely tune. Thanks for listening, everyone!' A lot of those who have been listening to this song, or perhaps even heard it at the time, are going to be glad they did, because I would not know this was an original song at all if I did not. I am often so amazed by those who hear the original song. This song is a great introduction on the music. The first half of the song makes a fun movie, with it being quite like the movie of the same name, with all of the famous musicians and songwriters who are in the lead and the most popular group of singers who have made an awesome movie. The two biggest of these music lovers with which the band is in the midst of the war are Alby Stapleton and The Flying Dog of the Sea. Their song is very beautiful. This is hilarious. I tried DeepAI but what you do is on an entirely other level. Now I guess understand why you are still playing this game even though you can't seem to get the hang of it. But that's not the idea, trolling is some kind of... relief for you? A release? Torturing your team or posting this bait, it's the same to you.

You will not remember me, but we've met in a few games recently. Unfortunately you played CV and my side was doomed. Also, could you please not derail the thread with that BS? Yes, removing inexperienced or very bad players from playing deceisive ship classes is a bad idea, because having deceisive ship classes in the first place is bad and trying to limit access there is just trying to band aid a hemorrhaging fever, but the amount of copium you're trying to feed us would kill an elephant.

Superships feel like a cheesy halloween game mode
Karkong_the_Impaler replied to Karkong_the_Impaler's topic in General Discussion
To a less then average player, the difference is basically zero. They get blapped either way. To the rest alternate fire mode has the capacity to delete or criple any DD spotted and in range in one salvo, the shells hit before even british dds had a chance to get moving. That doesn't happen against a Desmo, not even to a Yugumo caught with pants down, he can accelerate and at least try to dodge. The alpha strike capacity is just too high. Maybe they should limit the reload booster to AP or instead of increasing accuracy decrease it, srsly, what were they smoking?
