Another british HE spammer, that's all there is to it. If I manage to get her for free by accident, great, if not, I don't really care. I dont really care to grind these ships anymore. It sucks me dry, and in the end I play the ship just once or twice anyway (looking at you, Strasbourg).

I would like to join as well. :-)

They should add the corrosiveness on that smoke curtain too, hurting all ships that enter it. Fun and engaging gameplay for everyone!

Have submarines become irrelevant?
Hirohito replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
Why is the overall health on the enemy team "to be split" relevant? Sounds like a damage farmer attitude here. -
Have submarines become irrelevant?
Hirohito replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
I meant the "Halland treatment" as in speeding the torps up further as well as lowering their reload time (compared to other DDs at the time), in exchange for no homing and lower alpha, not as in being carbon copies of the Halland torps. Overall I'd rather have them farm floods and be able to constantly harass/deny areas, than be this all or nothing devstrike machine. -

Hirohito replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
Well it's not a great fix, but I think they should have given subs the Halland-treatment. Make the torps unguided and have a low alpha, but very fast and quick reloading to increase their consistency. Homing torps really shouldnt be a thing. Oh, and subs ramming surface ships (esp DDs) shouldnt be a thing either, they should massivelly reduce sub ramming power so that it hardly affects the surface ship. -
Druid or Vampire 2 (or possibly Gibraltar)
Hirohito replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
I dont have Vampire, but my immediate reaction when I saw her was that I would probably stick to Daring. A crawling smoke can cause more harm than good at times, as it gives your position away and keeps going even if you just wanted to break LOS for a brief moment to get away, possibly harming your chance to spot while you get out of dodge. Plus I like having a decent torpedo option, and 5 torps just arent cutting it for area denial or wide patterns. -
Ranked Battles: Need more than seven on a team.
Hirohito replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Usually the guys who are AFK arent so for the full match, only for like the first minute. That being said, when its epicentre mode and the DD is AFK, that can really mess up for the team. Some games ago I had to push in as a cruiser to block the (already capped) cap, just in order to not fall further behind. Also had zero spotting, so there's that. Lost that one ofc. -
Should I play Ranked while roaring drunk?
Hirohito replied to Gvozdika's topic in General Discussion
I play way worse if I've had a drink. I get overconfident, and then play like a sub-50 by doing stuff that I usually would know that I shouldnt. -
Which is awesome if you're not. :D
-
Misleading, that's a detonation you have there.
-
Dude, the whole game is unrealistic as all hell, especially the CVs and BBs that you main. Learn to deal with those DDs instead of complaining about lack of realism because, newsflash, this whole game is unrealistic.
-
My argument is that I find CVs unfun. How is my subjective feeling irrelevant to my subjective feeling?
-
Ignoring whether or not CVs are OP for a moment, I just think they are fundamentally unfun to play. There's nothing interesting in the actual mechanics, just fly over, drop your ordnance when you can, and repeat. Terribly unfun and unengaging. Would have loved for manual AA control and the ability to actually maneuver planes through player controlled AA (with altitude adjustments for instance), but with wargaming being wargaming, we're getting a very dumbed down arcade game. If war thunder proves to do better for sea+air warfare (like it is already miles ahead in tank warfare, unlike that awful WOT game) I might just switch permanently to that game at some point. The old system was aids as well with the devstrike capabilities that CVs had, but playing them was a lot of fun. I used to play a lot of RTS so the old system hit home instantly.

What are your personal favourite T5 to T7 ships & why?
Hirohito replied to Aethervoxx's topic in General Discussion
Surprised to see so many people say Gneisenau. To me she was one of the absolutely most horrendous ships I've ever played. Would not play again, ever. -
This is a very nice thing if you are a good player, because in a 7v7 format you can really influence things to secure a win. I just took a long break from the game and am playing poorly atm, so my WR in bronze is "only" at around 60% atm. But half a year ago, I was easily doing a consistent 75-80% WR in bronze, going down to around 66% in silver. Bronze is the tier where you can really seal club atm.

What are your personal favourite T5 to T7 ships & why?
Hirohito replied to Aethervoxx's topic in General Discussion
I really like the tier 6 London. Earned her in the missions back in 2019, and initially didn't have high hopes for her as I'm not particularly good at cruisers, and free premium boats are often pretty bad and people were also saying it's a bad ship. I absolutely love her though. Armed with 203s that can fire HE, has smoke+hydro+heal, and can be really impactful as well as decent for farming. I love to play her both as a DD escort by sneaking up to caps and blowing the enemy DD away with that alpha, but she can also sit in open waters (smoke!) if needed to set fires on the red BBs. This boat is great, and fun as well. Best free boat I ever got. -
3/7 being DDs is apparently unhealthy. 5/7 being BBs a year ago was apparently fine.

Which Stats are Indicative of a Good Player?
Hirohito replied to DaBung's topic in General Discussion
Solo win rate with a decent sample size is the only semi-useful individual stat. PR by itself is not a good metric as it's too heavily based on damage, which can be manipulated in all the wrong ways (fire spam on multiple BBs especially). If you combine high WR with high PR however, that is usually a very good indicator. However, also ask yourself what a "good player" even is. Some super unicums for instance only play to up their PR/damage through artificial means, by trying to prolong the game by letting the enemy team catch back up (letting them have a cap for free/ignoring a free cap, or let BBs get away to heal up), so that the game drags on for longer where they get to score more damage. Personally I absolutely detest such a playstyle as it can compromise a win (I personally only play for the win, not for damage) but that's how things are unfortunately. Different people, different prirorities. -
This right here. Goes for Flamu as well. They post these 300k+ games and pretend like they're an every day occurence, while their average stats in that boat show a very different picture.

The ship you regret the most having spent the resources on
Hirohito replied to Ddaywarrior's topic in General Discussion
Alaska and T-61. They have been hyped for a long time so I eventually pulled the trigger and bought them. Cant make good work of either of them. With Alaska I see that I probably need to practice more with that playstyle (I'm generally bad at cruisers, even if she sometimes plays like more of a BB). With T-61 though, I feel that the ship is severely overrated. The guns are pretty underwhelming, her concealment is so-so, her consumables are only decent (that hydro is defensive, no Z-52 hydro), and that pretty much only leaves the torp reload speed and high health points as her upside. Can slap BBs if in a good position, but that's usually not winning games by itself, nor what I'm looking for in a DD. Would not buy again. -
Your mistake is sailing ahead full steam into the A cap opening. If you had slammed on the brakes there and set up position right behind the exit with the Island edge as cover, you would have threatened a deadly broadside crossfire to anyone trying to get out of A. Sailing straight ahead however, you are the one running headlong into superior numbers for no reason.

Would you pay for a improved (elitte) matchmaking like premium time ?
Hirohito replied to Cirno9999's topic in General Discussion
The poll results are probably way off here (5% saying yes). I think most people interpret this answer as "do you want it in the game" (clear majority no), but I have no doubt that if this was implemented, a lot more people would buy it. -
IFA (incoming fire alert)... the most pointless, waste of a captain skill ever?
Hirohito replied to DerpyMcDoom's topic in General Discussion
This is a very nice skill to have on certain agile ships. I use it on Småland and Henri IV both, as it gives me early warning of when someone shot so that I can turn or even slam on the brakes. The skill is valuable because not only does it allow you to train your guns on another target and having to watch your surroundings less when you really need to focus, but the skill also gives a warning slightly before the enemy guns have even rendered as firing, giving you a slight (but very valuable) increase in warning time. -
Småland fire rate testing - DD skills don't work as advertised?
Hirohito replied to Gebe_'s topic in General Discussion
Well, having a low server batch rate is usually not a problem. The human sense cannot really distinguish from it when it comes down to these times, and it puts a lot less strain on the server, meaning that its mostly cheaper to run a low server batch rate. Usually this is not a problem, but it becomes a problem when we are talking about rapid-firing guns, because they behave very inconsistently based on whether or not the reload qualifies for an earlier or later server batch. Meaning that skills (for the most rapid firing DDs) will vary between 0% effect to multiples of % increase depending on whether the skill combination pushes you into an earlier batch or not. This was also the result of my testing, where ships like Fletcher gained 0% from the BFT, whereas a Småland could reach as high as 22% (depending on the measuring technique). This does not mean that Småland is suddenly "OP/broken" for a given set of skills, but more along the line that she doesn't benefit from certain skills at all until she fully benefits, creating a large gap of dpm increase.
