I sometimes call people hackers when they aim too well. Usually they get angry. Makes me feel like they're protesting too much, you know?

Specials with every battle being doubles have happened what... 2-3 times in how many years of WoT? It's not the norm. The norm is first-battle. You people are so predictably entitled it's starting to get pretty funny. Grow up.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Slargmann replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Well he's right on that point. -
CVs should just be banned from ranked because some CV players who shall remain unnamed are such huge throbbing cocks they think it's an awesome idea to go afk in queue and mess up whatever team they randomly plop onto like turds in a bowl.
-
The only problem in ranked is [edited] in CVs staying AFK the whole match making loss almost certain. There should be a temp ban on playing ranked if you AFK an entire match. Maybe a 12 hour ban or the like.

This would only work if you could put several ship types in the queue. Say you enter your ships with priority 1. Your trusty DD, 2. Your so so CA 3. Your non elite BB. Whichever gets gainfully placed first is the one you play. Otherwise I have a feeling queue times would be LONG.

The video could also be titled "how not to use your torpedoes in a soviet DD". The entire sequence when you launch torpedoes in the stern chase of the Myogi was extremely cringe worthy. First off you're claiming the torpedoes are "really quick" when they're some of the slowest in the game at 52kn. Secondly, you're launching them at a range of just under 5km when their range is 5km and the only way they're going to reach him is if he starts backing up in which case you'll miss anyway. A newbie watching your video is certainly not helped by that travesty. The best way to use the Izy's torpedoes is when you're being chased since their increased relative reach can actually make a big difference with their quick reload. Other than that, good video.

You know what would be really nice? If there was a system where you could mark or even make brief notes on players which you could then access within the match. Poker sites usually have a simple system where you can colour code players according to your own whims. "Blue" can for instance mean "Will cooperate" while "Orange" could mean "Total dweeb with his torpedoes, keep away from his firing arcs". This would be really helpful and one wonders why it hasn't already been implemented. Obviously the notes and markings would be personal so there's no risk of stigmatization involved.

Marking favourite and not-so-favourite players?
Slargmann replied to Slargmann's topic in General Discussion
I'm rational. That you confuse this with contrarian speaks volumes about you. -
Dude. You're awful. Just awful. Before you start telling other people how to play, learn how to yourself. I mean when it comes to BBs I am mediocre, but next to you I am a golden, shining god!

"There are so many black pots here", said the Kettle.

When you use the repair ability on a BB it takes a while for it to finish. All further damage sustained during that period is also repaired. It's pretty long on a BB. 30s or so? Which would account for your issue. If you hit with dive bombers first and he repairs like a stupid person you need to keep your cool and wait for it to finish before you torpedo him. As for the Minekaze, let's just say I have my doubts. Odds are good you misjudged the time. Odds are terrible he found a torpedo reload cheat.

If he's winning more often than he's losing, what the hell does it matter? 52% is by any account a decent amount of victories. By definition he is carrying.

I hope it's not too invasive. Mirror MM destroys one of the essential spices.

Marking favourite and not-so-favourite players?

In ranked you spend a lot of time with the same players. I frequently recognize names in random as well. I think you're simply not paying attention. -
Why are more afk players in ranked than in normal ?
Slargmann replied to N00b32's topic in General Discussion
How on earth do you figure someone can know this? The only reasonable explanation for making this topic is that you didn't think for yourself first, because your speculation is nominally as good as anyone else's. In the likely case that you either didn't speculate at all, or alternatively not well enough, I will posit my two favourite explanations for this phenomenon: 1. Abuse of randomness of MM in order to advance by sheer volume of slightly less than 50% coin toss. This seems like a poor tactic but presumably it could work. 2. A result of long queue times in ranked increasing the likelihood that any given user tabs out to windows while they wait for a match. Sometimes you get preoccupied with something and forget you're in the queue and thus... -

How does not sailing in a straight line help when your teammates launch torpedoes crossing your path? -
[NA] can earn a Tachibana for free (in 6 consecutive missions)... EU...?

I didn't get a chance to buy that online issue. I'm now going to spend the next couple of weeks on a complaint binge because I have been treated unfairly. -
Marking favourite and not-so-favourite players?
Slargmann replied to Slargmann's topic in General Discussion
The record doesn't even have to be kept on the server, it can be kept locally. The point is to make a reminder for yourself either by way of colour coding (which could happen in the team roster) or even by way of a small popup space for added text. We already have the UI in the karma popup. Right now you have to remember people, and given the immense amount of players that's not really going to be realistic other than in a very limited fashion. If you had a reminder system you could remind yourself who is likely to torpedo you in the [edited], or who is likely to work together with you in CVs, or who is likely to simply ignore every suggestion you make and etc etc. The possibilities are endless. For the imagination impaired, examples from pokerstars below. -
Marking favourite and not-so-favourite players?

No. If you actually take the time to read it, you'll note that I suggested personalized notes. They wouldn't be visible to anyone else since they're personalized. -

This. I realize some of you may be actual children, but I wouldn't be surprised if most of you are only acting the part. Eg "Grow up." -
Buy Cleveland again. It's clear that missions are trending towards involving specific tiers so it's probably going to be useful to keep it in inventory. If not the best tier 6 option it's certainly in the top 3. There's also the consideration of Cleve switching tiers later on which might net you a free tier 7 or 8 ship.

Autoloss/Autowin by bad matchmaking - fix needed now.
Slargmann replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
"I can't see a reason therefore there must be none." I'm just going to ignore that, since the response it deserves will simply get me called "undiplomatic" again and I'm a very sensitive person. There are two chief reasons for why MM shouldn't be mirrored and they apply both in random and in ranked. 1. Queue time. I shouldn't have to elaborate. I'm confident everyone can see why this would be problematic once they start thinking about it, and those who can't see why can probably ask someone who can. You now know there is a problem and you can start figuring out the why. 2. Fun! Now this is more subjective, so here I will elaborate: Playing against the exact same team as the one you're in reduces the number of potential problems you have to deal with. Dealing with new or old problems in new ways is the corner stone of good game design. It's essentially a new puzzle to solve, and a lot of people don't really enjoy solving the same one over and over. I know there are some of you who play just the one ship and are fine with that but some of us enjoy variety.- 56 replies
