nope bulge? ys it does effect but the roll you will get is completly random hit a montana from front torpedo was going from his side and he hit teh torp while turning so a nearly 170 degree hit gave me 15k damage it is random in fact the very last battle of mine today was in again kagero i was getting chased by fletcher i went around the island fired torps and kept going. 1 torp hit him. Now he had 17 k health and my torp has 21k max damage. Usually when a torpedo hits a destroyer from its side taht means end of the game because it will do very close to full damage. This guy took 15k damage form that torp. In another game my torpedo that hit an Ibuki did 19k damage. It is that random because that is how they are designed. 2 torpedoes going after eachother they both hit Izumo one does 17k damage other does 9k damage..... and that ship doesnt have any kind of protection in game. destroyer game is based on RNG after all these nerfs. i m not talking about USDDs i m talking about IJNDDs in every battle where i am gettnig close to a ship i get detected by a plane passing by and you dont see scout planes unless they are 4km away from you which is impossible for me to dodge that plane its all based on RNG sometimes i got into a game where people refuse to turn their ship even a bit when torps are getting closer sometimes i get into a game where people sniff my torps miles away. But the second one happes more often than the first one

I have shimakaze's stock torps and i can tell you its completly random from 10k to 16k you can do damage to BBs also you can do 15k to 19k damage to CAs but the important part is for them to hit. they dont do damage unless they hit

You need those turrets aswell because doing 30k damage doesnt come only from torps. I have %6 hit ratio lets say %5 fo the sake of math. that means from 40 torpedoes i only hit 2 of them. Which makes 5 salvo for 24-30k damage. If i fire these savloes 2+2+1 type it will take my 6 min to do 30k damage. Meanwhile a CA or a DD can attack you. If you dont ahve good enough turrets you will not be able to return fire effectively. They will dodge or consume the damage(CA players dont care about soaking damage from DDs) while they can still unload their guns on you with their 4-5 sec reload and 4-12 guns. You will need those turrets to not get killed while you are trying to kill the low health CA. Trust me it does happen and its not uncommon

Nope i think there are just a couple of people that has same or little bit less average damage than you. I am not kidding here. For example pape excellent CV player right? 76% win ratio but only 3 destroyers one of them is actually the fubuki he has 20 battles in it with nearly 2k average exp but only 35k average damage you might be the 2nd or 3rd highest average damage in destroyers. Seriously doestroyers are not easy they are not fun carriers are looking at stats of CV players they have high amount of damage potential and high exp potential you have 2.7k and 3k average exp in shima and gearing. He has average exp of 4.6k at hakuryu tell me how is this not showing something. And yet you are one of the probably best DD players. Now we know DDs earn a lot more compared to others as exp and credit wise but even with that kind of boost you cant get enough base exp can you? I am not going to argue anymore because the discussion seems like its not going to head anywhere. But i will say that battleships have enough time to fully dodge shimakaze's torps from the second they spot it. 20km and 15km ones both ahve the same spottin distance something 1.6km and players gets enoguh time to dodge them when they spot torps at 1.6km minekaze's 68 knots torps also has 1.6km spotting distance. I really dont like this . I tested it on couple of BBs that goes straight line. When they start turning at the same time they spot torps and cut the speed a bit they can fully dodge them. Remember the module that lower rudder shift time? that allows a ship with 25 sec rudder shift time to have 20 sec rudder shift time. This means from normal to max turn it will take 10 secs. Do the math yourself turning away from them allows player to dodge them

DD ammo isnt cheap one 20km 67 knots torpedo costs 900 credit. That means each salvo i fire costs me 3600. kagero costs 150k repair damage which this is boosted CBT they need to do something about that part. Dont have high hopes stock version of kagero is bad. Its just worse fubuki when its stock. When its fully upgraded you still arent going to enjoy it much 36 sec turret turning time is not fun at all.

This is the last time i m saying this stop quoting 0.4.0 as an excuse. Tell me can you still hit the ones that already have the alarm bells ringing over them? yes? well thats something DDs cant do. We cant risk for the ship or torpedoes to get spoted because enemy will also reposition to dodge them all. Not even making it difficult it just directly dodging them all. You gotta admit you have higher torpedo hit ratio and average damage(173k) in your hakuryu compared to your shimakaze's torpedo hit ratio and average damage(78k) tell me how does that 100k diffrence doesnt prove CVs are easier to play. i dont get this part If i slow down i will get hit. i have to turn away to usemy smoke's ability. And as you know DDs dont have much HP like CVs get. So they will spam the last area they saw you and will most likely hit you. You see my problem is DDs are too long and fragile. If a high tier cruiser's HE hits it will penetrate and do nearly full damage. I need my 15k health at all times. And thats why i said they all know their ship well and they all are good players. The outcome of that battle will be the CV side no matter what. i m not talking about USDDs here they are not in much depth here but IJN ones are. it isnt actually good for destroyers i thought the same way until i realised my torpedoes have 2km spotting range. The whole fleet slows down because one fo them was brave enough to be closer to me. So they dodge torps. Funny thing i never seen a DD wrecking planes left and right. Oh right cause that never happens. Also you do realise a shokaku has at least 3 TBs? jsut make it a crossed attack and boom you are dead. Destroyers werent much RNG based before because an enemy ship was not able to dodge all teh torpedoes launched. You know how you CV players keep saying you arent supposed to dodge them all? Yeah DDs are the reason why they think that way. Because our torpedoes arent fast as CV ones. a plane can go over 120 knots and drop torps close. My torps goes 67 knots... Most frustrating part about playing destroyers is everything except enemy BBs. You get spoted by CVs your torps get spoted by them, a destoryer can track you down and kill you. a CA player can track you down and kill you(kagero 35 knots speed Ibuki 35 knots speed you cant run) the only thing that seems alright to me are BBs against destoryers. They turn fast enough to dodge torpedoes sure but at least they dont ahve the ability to make you day worse in a second.

just so you know you are asking WG to inform how players can play better while these guys nerfed everything that normally punishes the newbies. Edit: I m kind of afraid that WG might give us sponge instead of guns so we wouldnt hurt anyone and IT WOULD(not) BE FUN!!

i m sorry you think clicking over ships placing torps near their face requires skill? are you drunk? After all those nerfs of course DD gameplay became dull. But i still dont see how a CV that can drop and damage enemy at close range require mre skill. You dont even have to watch around to do that. You can suddenly change the course of your planes. You dont need to plan your attack and hope your planes dont get spoted. Even the guys that does try to evade those planes the second they see them takes a huge damage. running into fighers hmmm i wonder does destroyers get a second life? am i missing a part of the game? if your planes starts to get attacked you can get them out of there and 100 plane airport hakuryu can replace couple of them. but if a destroyer spots you everyone will jump on you Oh how i love story time. So this one time at north map enemy captured 4 flags. no you didnt hear it wrong enemy captured all of them for 8 mins but we won. how? well i dont know maybe our 3k exp earning carrier captain can explain how killing a battleship does more impact to domination than couple of base capture. That smoke only works if enemy cant see you from the other directions. it doesnt hide you at the second you press the button. and your position will be known even if you start turning hard at that second those spammer CAs will hit you. Excuse while i read all about your "chained up and teamed up destroyers is powerfull" idea does a cv not do the same all by himself? so is this going to be the same talk we do aganist BB captains? BBs nor CVs are the star of this game An easy example. Lets say the battle is standart battle Enemy team has hakuryu BBs and CAs no DD Your team has shimakaze BBs and CAs no CV which team will be succesfull? Dontp aly the "skill" of BBs or CAs here everyone knowns what they are doing. Think about them as unicums at wot with 6000WN8. They are all super good at using their ship. Now give it a fair thought which team has more chance to win? of course the team that has CV. People always complain about 1 vs 0 Cv team but they nearly never complain about how enemy team has more destroyers. And you know what? that battle where we won even though enemy kept those 4 bases 8 min long we had one DD player(me in kagero) and they had 4-5 destroyers. Both teams had CVs and their destroyers were working together. smoke and my IJN DD's relationship is like this: I pop it out then i run away because they will kill me and me sitting there firing at them will not work. A fellow battleship using my smoke is not a big deal for me. It might be helping the team out. But if i m not going to have fun why would i play destoryers? I am not an escort surely i can spot enemies better but that doesnt make the game fun for me. Any kind of teaming up at enemy blows DD's game to and we cant get our main armament to diffrent places in seconds to readjust the attack. Dont judge CVs from 0.4.0 i dont care what they do at 0.4.0 at 3.1.5 we are suffering from CV attacks in destoryers. I dont know how long you havent played 3.1.5 but close drops makes it easy to kill destroyers. Does this hapepn to DDs? hmm let me think about it. My main armament can be spoted by controllable planes and if a CV player wants to mess up with me he can throw me off my game even with fighters prema spotting me. i m ont even going to talk about how CA and DD can get close enough to block your torpedo attacks. Seriously when was the last time you played kagero? Destroyers have to fight hard to earn a little bit damage which gives them more exp and such but that is just an excuse that WG uses to not buff DDs. in a CV you dont need to fight hard to do damage. CV players keeps complaining about how many planes they shut down and how they dont receive exp for it. So the battleship season has passed now its carrier season? i wish i was in alpha now. They were OP back then so it will never be destroyer season where i will ask for more buffs even though i can screw up everyone's game from 20-30km away. Maybe when it goes OBT i can use low tier DDs to abuse people....maybe

but something like that doesnt happen at CVs and i never seem to receive a nerf to DDs that actually buffed them. That yamato kill can be the break off your team needs. Its jsut 5 shimakazes like they cant change the game's outcome most of the time send a useless squadron to piss of DDs and there you have it destoryer's battle is ruined. A DD runs into another one there you go the battle ruined. A ship you spoted and launched torps at starts getting fired at or your ally CV player decides to torp him too there you go the battle is ruined. Its hard for destroyers to actually plan and get reward out of an attack but for CVs? i fail to see the way them being able to do much more damage is somehow not a game changer. Seriously think about a domination game a CV can pretty much change the course of game. It happend to me. before 3.1.5 we were at hotspot there was a hakuryu on enemy team we were wining. 8 against 3 or somethingl ike that and in nearly 5-7 mins we lost. If thats not a big sign then i dont know what is. I know you are a decent player so lets be honest here do you think CV gameplay requires more skill than destroyer? There is no range limit no ammo limit nothing is limited at CVs you can attack to a BB at north and when you are done with it you can attack to the one at south. A DD cant do the same. if a destroyer choses a bad path to use it will be pretty much the end of game. This is why i think fuel is needed. they are never going to balance CVs if they give them limitless range ability in a game where every other armament has limit. No you cant actually reach a really high average damage in DDs like CVs can do but thats what they call balance. CVs will be out of balance until they stop letting them have limitless operation range. CVs only encounters are other CVs. If they get spoted by any other class they can just keep bombing you until you can no longer operate. They are fast and they have powerfull armament without limits. Sure you have plane amounts in your hangars but does that change the fact that your planes can heal themselves to full health when they stop taking damage?

not just over one person's average damage if we would make a total average damage out of CV players we would have higher average damage than other classes. Even you dont have that kind of average damage at destroyers which i dont think you were working too hard at CVs

that idea is just a joke but its PT it might not make it to the beta test. BUT i have to agree that CV manual drop AT THE MOMENT is a bit too much effective. i have seen battles where a BB or CA captain didnt turn to avoid planes. But after torpedo squadron killed me in my destroyer(yes they can hunt DDs at high tiers and its not even hard) i started to watch those plane's targets. Some of them would turn some wouldnt but it really didnt matter for the one trying to save his life in the middle of our fleet. It was a taiho carrier who attack our CA which was turning towards the TBs but other TB squadron came in dropped the torps effective enough to one shot him. CVs need adjusting and right now they are both UP and OP(mostly OP but whatever) if a destroyer would have 120k average damage people would flip out and WG would have to nerf it down. They should adjust the fuel system. Give IJN more fuel so when planes get up the carrier player will be forced to not waste much time. There might even be critical hit for planes or fuel leak maybe. I am telling you people fuel system will work

The only problem Izumo is having the armour on it is not right. When it gets fixed i m sure there wont be a problem. Its 150mm right now its supposed to be 250 or 300

So after all those chat with my internet provider(aka the company who gives me internet) i learned out that for 3-4 months there have been no problem in my area nor at my internet. And then i though lets see how my autopilot will react if i tell him to go straight line. Here are the results. Dont know why but my autopilot captain must be drunk. He kept turning too much to left or right. Seriously is this not a server side problem? I have seen many people in battles and at forums that has their lag sign red.
