1-maybe but it will be harder to hunt alone BBs because they will be warned. 2-I dont know anything about that 3-If a CA is aggressive it will be better for him and not so better for the victim DD 4-20secs is not good though 5-He might be talking about those 100 damaging torpedo hits. Yes they do exist but i think that is kind of an excuse made by WG to cover up their fault since a destoryer taking hit from its side doesnt stand a chance normally.

you get 11secs for a 2km away torpedo to impact even battleships can turn before torps hit. Unless they arent paying attention

well at least there is no water drag for torps that effect long range and short range

no that isnt exactly representing my words. You see torps do 180-200m/s as we talked about in other thread but shots do 1000m/s which makes them more accurate and less dodgable.

we need to experiment that then... also shells dont do 2000m/s in game they do little bit over 1000m/s if it would be 2000m/s at 15km the timer wouldnt say 15secs it would say 7.5secs which would be really annoying because hitting enemies wold be easier

Well if youp lay aggressive against DDs and not stay back this ability gives you a huge advantage over DDs. especially against IJNDDs since their main armament is torpedoes. If you would have an ability that allows you to dodge a battleship's shot more easier wouldnt that make BB players whiner over forums about how OP that is?

im not sure lets do the math! i remember my torps have 67 knots speed which normally means 34.5m/s speed and in game my torpedoes could go 1000meter in 5.5sec so 181.8m/s which is nearly 6 times faster that means if all speed is 6 times faster a DD with 40knots can reaach to 2.5km in 20 sec which isnt nice.

hardly? 40knots means 0.02 km/s which means in 20 sec you can only go 0.4km

nah they will jsut give us some bucket so our destoryers will look pretty -
but that skill allows you to hunt destroyers easier now you see that this ability lets you see them earlier and with torpedo acq skill it reaches up to what %40? i am not sure about this 0.4.0 sonar thing's torpedo acq boost but it will allow you to dodge those torpedoes easier much much easier so it will force DDs to back up and torpedo hit ratio will go down and with that average damage will go down Edit: for example my kagero torps have 2km spotting range and with %40 more acq that will be 2.8km do you really think that is not a huge nerf? people can already dodge my torps at 2km

In reality you would understand that game has RNG factor so even a wakatake can one shot a ship while a kagero might not do it with 800 torpedoes. You see torpedo damage rolls are completly random. A torpedo hits the bow of a ship from a really weird angle(like170 degree) does 14k another torp hits the same place from 90 degree and it does 12k damage. Why? because this isnt warthunder. Damage modelling in WG games are not logical. Counting armour in a WG game hmm. Let me think. Oh i get it you mean those weird hits? Have you seen the thread about torpedo hits doing weirdly low damage? yeah 20mm destroyer taking hit from side or stern or even bow. Does 120 damage. Yes you heard me right WG claimed this was caused by torpedo protection while i can understand that if it would hit a BB and do low damage(happend to me) but i cant understand the fact that 500kg explosive cant penetrate a destroyer's 20mm armour. This isnt a bug someone sent message about it to support and received answer. I m sorry that you are ignorant enough to think this game runs on logic but its ok every newbie thinks like that -

swear? do you know whats swearing? are you sure its same with what i know as? i doubt it. I also doubt you know anything abotu destroyers. Look above the damage stat wise comparing as you can see i did the math me being a joe average doesnt mean i can learn and know more than you. -

So lets compare fubuki and kagero damage output these will be raw stats Fubuki 85.7 sec reload 17,233 max damage a fubuki can fire 14 times in a 20min battle if it fires all salvoes at once it will fire 9 torpedoes(155,097 damage potential) 14x155,097=2,171,358 Kagero 120sec reload 20.967 max damage a kagero can fire 10 times in a 20min battle if it fires all salvoes at once it will fire 8 torpedoes(167,736 damage potential) 10x167,736=1,677,360 I m sure 500k damage potential doesnt matter when it goes one tier higher. Oh dont forget the guns Fubuki 6.7rof 2,300 damage potential 25sec turn time(180 degree) Kagero 6.7rof 2,300damage potential 36 sec turn time(180 degree) Of course with module and captain skill you can get reload times lower Fubuki(only captain skill) 77sec reload 15.5 times in 20min battle 2,404,003 Kagero(captain skill+module) 90 sec reload 13 times in 20 min battle 2,180,568 As you can see Fubuki as a tier 8 is still more powerfull then kagero damage output wise -

yeah the problem is kagero is too much like fubuki.... It does not feel like you are playing a tier 9 destroyer. A minekaze can do the job better than you. You know those tanks in wot where they are jsut there to force people pass them with free exp? kagero is one of them. Imagine VK4502B with its original armour thats how it feels like to be in kagero. It doesnt represent what shimakaze is -

Leo PTA isnt a bad tank though nor lorraine 40t they both have their own play style and its not hard to adopt to that. cant compare it to kagero really i dont see a battle where people would chose panther over Leop PTA(in this case hatsuharu over kagero) i m thinking about going for gearing first when game goes OBT will rise from both lines but i will stop at minekaze for IJN -

have you compared kagero to other tier 9 ships yet? i did to some of them Fletcher USNDD tier 9 has speed of 37 knots and 560meters turning radius it also happens to have 17k health with 10.5km torps 66knots torp speed Ibuki IJNCA tier 9 has speed of 35 knots and 770meter turning radius 10km torps with 62 or 65 knots torp speed Baltimore USNCA tier 9 has speed of 33 knots and 730 meter turning radius Kagero IJNDD tier 9 has speed of 35 knots and 640 meters turning radius it has 15k health with 20km 67 knots torps. About the turning part BBs and CAs will turn better than destroyers if they slow down once they reach max left or right. i dont want to upset myself with looking into USNDD IJNCA USNCA tier 8s kagero is just not the type of ship i expected to have at tier 9. You know like in wot at tier9 pretty much every line have good tanks. Why does WG give us a bit upgraded yet broken fubuki?
