Graf Zeppelin-The only aircraft carrier launched by the Kriegsmarine
Deamon93 replied to pel123's topic in Age of Armour Warships
She was moved back and forth for most of the war until she was finally scuttled at Stettin in 1945. She was then salvaged by the Russian and sunk as target in 1947. Not a glorious end but that's also true for other German surface ships.- 69 replies

I worked on the premiums thinking for a placement and i also modified the cruiser line(assuming Cleveland goes to tier VIII) If i messed up something please let me know!
-
I was thinking what to do with the ex German cruisers. One has to be used in the standard line for tier IV when Cleveland goes up and the Condottieri-class moves up accordingly(with I/II at tier V, III/IV at VI and V/VI at VII). I was thinking about using Bari since she isn't present neither in the German nor Russian trees. Regarding the other two i still have to figure out what to do.

You did a fine job! For the others i guess it's better to wait for a new update, at least you'll avoid to "waste" time if you make the image and the tree gets updated soon after -
Don't worry!

True but doesn't change the fact that jets would make WWII ships obsolete.
-
The BBs start from 3, CVs start from 4
-
Post war carriers had little to no AAA and relied on jets. That would make every WWII ship obsolete which isn't nice.
-
As said above carriers and cruisers are the most complicated lines to do. In any case there are some cruisers clearly not up to the task: as example Algérie can't compete with Des Moine.

Kii was a battleship so it's strange to see her between the battlecruisers.

NWould be interesting to see why they got those names, if there's a proper reason or if it was for convenience. In any case great topic! By the way i noticed that B-65 is repeated twice: is this intended? Because it seems weird having two ships associated to the same project name.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

That's true. I guess Mogador will get some WG love to make her compete against the tier Xs(assuming she'll be there). -

Thankfully they never went there, it would have been even worse losing them instead of losing the Leone and the Sauro class destroyers deployed there. In any case well also Richelieu was a failure until Uncle Sam came along and fixed them. Unless someone can find successful a ship capable of firing only two salvoes before breaking down -

The only ship with some similarities with Capitani Romani is Mogador but it's understandable since Capitani Romani was designed to counter her and Fantasque. Well considering where Cleveland is i guess the answer is no, otherwise we would have had a design prior to Brooklyn at VI. -

They may be the first but barely since they were commissioned around the same time of the first Northamptons. Surely it's better this way than placing Northampton as premium or, even worse, placing Northampton as tier VI. -

That cruiser would have been nice in a parallel cruiser line with Atlanta&co, too bad she is a premium ship :/. Speaking of which i wonder if it will be possible to "replace" Atlanta with Pensacola as tier VII premium cruiser. By doing so there will be place for Northampton at tier VII in the heavy cruiser line plus it will give a chance to the "CLAA" line. That wouldn't be bad after all -

I think that Shimakaze and Gearing can coexist at tier X without many issues. Gearing, thanks to the better AAA, is more suitable as escort while Shimakaze can be played more offensively thanks to the better torpedo armament(both numerically and quality wise). Besides the ten torpedo tubes of Gearing aren't that bad so she should be able to hit hard(although not as hard). -

Update on the US destroyers here -
Every part of the trailer comes from previous WG released videos so it's not an NDA breach. The trailer is nice. Sure it doesn't show that much but ehy that's because WG is still quite secretive(and rightfully so).

Capturing the imposing effect of certain ships
Deamon93 replied to _Pheasant_'s topic in Age of Armour Warships
I don't know if the German cruiser line will require Deutschland or not(my knowledge on their heavy cruiser designs is limited to that class and Hipper). If not it would be nice to have the pocket battleship as premium. She is heavily armed, not so armored and not that fast. It would be tricky to play with her since at that tier there will be faster capital ships but she should be good enough . Surely it's better than the last known placement(tier IV in the BB line). -
13x2 100/47 with 8 mounts able to fire on broadside, jeez. Sure the gun isn't that powerful but the sheer amount of them is just insane.

I stopped playing WoT so i haven't checked the new premium. In any case if you make either one as premium what would happen to the other and the upgrades? Since Bismarck would be most likely the stock preset leaving 1944 Tirpitz as final one. -
Capturing the imposing effect of certain ships
Deamon93 replied to _Pheasant_'s topic in Age of Armour Warships
There isn't that much difference between Bismarck and Tirpitz to explain having both present, one as premium and the other as standard. They share the same primary and secondary armament so it doesn't make much sense. Besides there are a lot of legendary names in the standard lines and nobody is complaining about them. Why should Bismarck be different? -
Yeah there are plenty of ships i haven't mentioned yet. I assume i will have to check them all and see where to place them ^^
