Uhm i was wondering what to do with the two other BC designs(made in 1928 and in 1933). The 1928 design should be more or less comparable to Renown, although displacement wise the Italian BC is smaller(hence she should theoretically have less HP). For this ship i was thinking tier VI should suit just fine and, since she doesn't fit in the line, i assume she could become a premium(especially since Caracciolo is pretty much better or comparable in every aspect). The 1933 design is more or less comparable to the actual refits/reconstructions of Conte di Cavour and Caio Duilio. As such i think she should be at tier V, most likely as premium since there are already the two refits in the line. With those in the premium list all the classes should have a good amount of choices but then again i'm not 100% convinced.

Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were pretty much the only surface ships able to reach the Atlantic, wreck havoc and come back home safely. They were reasonably armed, fast enough to actually outrun capital ships(something the Deutschland-class wasn't always able to achieve since fast BBs were as fast or faster) and they were armored enough to tank the damage(while Deutschland was made of paper in comparison). Bismarck was strong overall but as far as usefulness is concerned no doubt the Scharnhorsts beat her. Besides Lutjens was chosen to lead Bismarck and Prinz Eugen because of his successes with Scharnhorst and Gneisenau.

What a strange looking design . If implemented i think they'll be at low tier, how low who knows.

Level bombers aren't exactly the most suited mean to deal damage to a ship unless you have this In this case it's kind of irrevelant if the bomb hits exactly the ship or not, the explosion will be devastating regardless.

What do you mean exactly? Because in case of Germany there's just one known heavy cruiser(Hipper) while there's a line full of BCs.

Not exactly since pocket battleships are weaker than BCs in every aspect.

Pocket battleships are quite complicated to add though, at least without any fictional buffs from WG(which are plausible).

If you pay attention to the armor scheme you see that this small BB has a pretty good protection actually

Cute little battleship, thanks for sharing this design! Deutchland isn't a battleship. She is a cruiser with bigger guns, average protection and worse speed compared to the contemporary heavy cruisers. She doesn't have any characteristic which vaguely resemble BBs.

Thanks! In that case i was thinking to place Dante Alighieri instead of Tegetthoff and Aquila(most likely with the 120/45) instead of Sebenico. Aquila should be placed at tier IV most likely. EDIT: following the same logic Brindisi should be dropped as well since no serious refits were done to her.

Russian WWI ships can go higher if you consider the planned modifications/reconstructions/completions(in case of uncompleted ships like the Izmail-class battlecruisers).

The AA guns are AI controlled and they start to shoot at planes when they get into range.

PoW lost a lot of her guns due to jams and failures, without them she would be able to hurt Bismarck a lot more. The engagement could end up as the historical one went but it becomes more unlikely if WG considers the fixes the British made on the KGVs over time.

This morning i decided to work on the premiums, trying to reduce the number of candidates to a more reasonable amount. Here is what i came up with: Battleships -BC project 1930 -Tegetthoff Cruisers -Modified UP-90 -Etna -Ancora(AA conversion) Destroyers -Spalato(as tier VIII) -Premuda(ex Dubrovnik) -Sebenico -Audace I tried to avoid to copy/paste ships from other trees since it wouldn't be interesting. This is just temporary, it may easily change.

Perhaps, we'll see

Well WWII Germany doesn't make historical battles all that interesting since the number of ships involved are usually fairly limited. As example at River Plate there was just a German ship against three British ones, not exactly the most interesting of all times. Personally i see more interesting a nation vs nation mode rather than going for historical battles which tend to be complicated to implement either because they are too small(like in this case) or too large(Jutland).

Well the starting idea was to link Condottieri I/II to Trento and start the heavy cruiser line from there. Even though ACs aren't exactly the predecessors of CAs it's better to have a heavy cruiser at tier VI to link the two rather than to rely on the Condottieri class as link between the two. In any case if ACs are discarted all this isn't required

No there isn't a specific reason, i just wanted to see if a continuous line with ACs at lower tiers is viable or not. I've done it primarily because otherwise the ACs would look weird in the line in case WG makes up its mind about them.

Perhaps but as for now it's just there in the tree as a remainder(so i don't forget to search for info ). If the design is different enough it would be confirmed, if not i'll try something else.

I changed a few things. First i replaced the lines in the first topic with an image of the file i'm working on(up to date). Other then that i decided to change a few things, the most important is bringing the preliminary Trento into the line. There are two reasons: 1)There are already a lot of potential premium cruisers, adding another one makes little sense 2)I assumed the armored cruisers can go up to tier V: II)Garibaldi III)Pisa IV)San Giorgio(WWI) V)San Giorgio(WWII) If the assumption is right i could make a parallel armored cruiser/heavy cruiser line from II to X, all made with Italian designed ships(which isn't possible in case of the low tier protected cruisers/light cruisers line). The reason of the question mark close to the preliminary Trento is simple: i don't have any data on her as of yet and i'm not 100% sure. This attempt may fail or not, depending on how things go. Regarding the rest at the moment i'll focus on finding a tier III light cruiser candidate, a link between Caracciolo and Littorio and info on the Ansaldo 1937 project(i read in the NA forum some info which states that this ship was pretty much an upgunned UP.37 with 420 mm instead of 406 mm, plus modifications in the machinery). With these blank spots/missing info covered i'll focus on carriers which would be a real pain in the butt since i will have to hunt for suitable planes as well.

H-42 is outside the tonnage limitation as far as i recall. In any case battleships won't have torpedoes ingame
