That's not exactly a proof though. I'm not allowed to answer to this specific question since otherwise the NDA lords would get angry. In any case if there's something wrong you can easily report it especially since we have also other things to do(as you may guess from how much new stuff WG has thrown into the game with 0.3.1).
-
Any proof to back what you say?
-
I think that the release depends on how the tests go. Yesterday Ectar, who was streaming, got a few crashes so i think they'll fix those before releasing.
-
Anti torpedo armament is an old saying for calling the secondary armament. The armament was designed to deal with torpedo boats(hence the name). You can deal with the destroyer/torpedo planes but when the torpedoes are in the water you can't do anything but avoiding them.
-
How did you do the tests then? Besides if turning away from the torpedoes is wrong what's the correct course of action Mr? Because in many cases turning away is the safer bet
-
Well there aren't sources from that Q&A and i don't think the devs are that dumb to say such things like Kitakami having 60 torpedoes, Bismarck being a pocket BB, secondary armament firing at torpedoes and so on. Those are just plain dumb and only dumbs can believe in them.

The problem is Des Moine. You can't make that tier balanced with a heavy cruiser firing that fast. Hopefully WG will understand, in time, that DM has to go. The range are much better for the Japanese. Here are the stats(damage/range/speed): NOTE: I'll check all of them, just be patient US II)Sampson: -Whitehead Mk 5: 5900/4.5/49 -Bliss Leavitt Mk 7: 6033/4.5/54 III)Wickes: -Bliss Leavitt Mk 3: 6400/4.5/48 IV)Clemson: -Bliss Leavitt Mk 7: 9900/5/56 (i have to thank you for finding a bug cuz without this stat spam i wouldn't have catch it) -Mk 11: 11733/5.5/56 V)Nicholas: -Mk 11: 11733/5.5/56 -Mk 15 mod.0: 11600/5.5/65 VI)Farragut: -Mk 15 mod.0: 11600/5.5/65 -Mk 15 mod.3: 16633/4.5/65 VII)Mahan: -Mk 15 mod.3: 16633/4.5/65 -Mk 12: 117336.4/64 VIII)Benson -Mk 12: 117336.4/64 -Mk 14 mod.3: 14500/8.2/52 IX)Fletcher -Mk 14 mod.3: 14500/8.2/52 -Mk 16 mod.1: 19033/10.5/66 X)Gearing -Mk 17: 17900/16.5/66 JP II)Umikaze: -Type 42: 6133/4.5/44 -Type 44 mod.2: 6800/8/48 III)Wakatake: -Type 44 mod.2: 9067/7/57 (another bug, yeah) -Type 6: 10833/7/57 IV)Isokaze: -Type 6: 10833/7/57 -Type 92: 14400/7/68 V)Minekaze: -Type 92: 14400/7/68 -Type 89: 14400/10/57 VI)Mutsuki: -Type 8 mod.1: 14600/6/63 -Type 8 mod.2: 16267/10/59 VII)Hatsuharu: -Type 8 mod.2: 16267/10/59 -Type 90 mod.1: 17233/10/62 VIII)Fubuki: -Type 90 mod.1: 17233/10/62 -Type 90 mod.2: 17233/15/57 IX)Kagero -Type 90 mod.2: 17233/15/57 -Type 93 mod.1: 20967/20/67 X)Shimakaze: -Type 93 mod.1: 20967/20/67 -Type 93 mod.3: 23767/15/67 As you can see the Japanese have a higher range with marginal speed differences(especially at higher tiers). Too bad there isn't in the stats the detection range of the torpedoes otherwise i would have listed them.

I wonder when she found all this stuff because few parts are rather amusing and make me wonder if they can do maths.
-
Most likely that was the reason. Still that happened ages ago so i don't recall the reasons ^^
-
In 0.3.1 there isn't a premium battleship and, as for now, we don't know anything. There are a few possibilities though: -Delaware(most likely tier III), which were dropped when the BBs line lowest tier changed from II to III -Florida(same of Florida) -Nevada(most likely tier VI), which isn't present in the "what we know about ships" topic as far as i recall
-
It was Essex. Anyway the tier X will be Midway but, as far as we know, the model isn't ready(reason why there's no tier X US CV)
-
ST can't produce enough statistical data, which is required to evaluate if ships are balanced or not. Anyway the answer is above, quoted by Shepbur. Eventually they'll expand common test but first they have to make the infrastructure work.
-
I don't know if the single torpedoes have a higher alpha but you should consider the fact that, even the single quadrons have less planes, the Japanese carriers have more torpedo bomber squadrons at their disposal. With all considered they can deal a lot of damage.
-
Without considering the skill which increases the number of planes per squadron yeah.
-
Japanese carriers have less planes per squadron but you have more squadrons overall. Regarding the HP i'll check when there's the official release(when i'll check the AA)
-
Too bad we can't talk about ST affairs, you would find some things rather amusing. Anyway the STNA section will be hidden just like here in EU so you won't get access to that soon enough.
-
I assume WG thought having a server with a cap of 1000 was enough so there isn't much room for all the regions. Personally i hope the common test will be improved over time. As ST we can test the ships and have an opinion on them but we can't possibly have enough statistical data to prove we are right(or wrong, we can have our derps like every other human being). Besides the more opinions the better.
-
US battleships are better protected, making them more difficult to penetrate from range(at least in theory). Besides their turn rate is quite fast and that makes hitting them from range quite difficult. In any case the common test is there to test the ships more in details. ST alone can do a lot of things but there's one which is impossible: produce a a large quantity of statistical information.
-
The real Pensacola lost the torpedoes in the '30s, before the war even began.
-
Even if the patch was shown by WG i don't know if we can talk about it, at least referring to the game. Today WGRU streamed on the test server they set up for their region, i don't know if they showcased Montana in particular but it's possible. Sure they speak in Russian but you could get an idea of how they are is when they showcased Montana.
-
You know that the time when IJN DDs could turn their turrets is now? Before that patch their turrets were painfully slow and that required a lot of skill to make them work(or don't use guns at all). Now on the other hand you can more or less you the guns reliably, not at the level of the USN DDs but reasonably well overall. In any case if WG will find them unbalanced in some way they'll address the issue, if they don't it's because it's not there(or it's not a big priority in the "to do" list).
-
He may have focused on other lines, don't you think? If you follow that same logic i couldn't say "Fubuki, Kagero and Shimakaze are fun" because i don't have them yet? Even though i have experience with all three of them.
-
Fuso won't land a single hit on you from that range unless you just sail strait. Besides from that range you can't do damage consistently. Regarding the high tier Japanese destroyers they require you to think ahead and not to waste torpedoes. Besides Shimakaze with a faster RoF would be just insane.
-
That's what ST is about.
-
Because there are few issues to adress before releasing the patch.
