True but more RoF would make that weapon even better. Anyway we'll see since i don't think we will see Italian ships with Italian flags anytime soon(let's hope for Giulio Cesare in the Motherland tree)
-
I think WG could use the original electrical loading equipment planned for the 65 mm improving the RoF of the gun(but i don't know how much it would improve). Well the armor has to be worked by WG, it's beyond my expertise. And that won't happen anytime soon, sadly enough.
-
Regarding the DP mounts i have to make sure that was the case, if not she still has enough AA for a tier VI. I don't know how the de-capping layer would work. If it works more or less like spaced armor in WoT it would give some advantages, then again it's too early to say.
-
Ise would stay at tier VI(since she's similar to Fuso) leaving the hole at tier IX. With completed ships alone you Japan would have holes at tier VIII and IX and that won't be fun(stuck at Nagato forever to grind your way to Yamato).
-
As far as i recall Etna was supposed to have DP mounts but then nothing came out of it(since the development of the ships stopped). Abruzzi would be a bit faster, better armored and with longer reach. Overall WG could find a way to make her fit without warping things too much.
-
Having DP mounts doesn't seem to be quite important since most of the time as DD you keep your AA disabled(to avoid being spotted). Regarding Abruzzi and Brooklyn i don't know the penetration values. Still it's a safer bet than Aosta

What can we expect in the next big patch (0.3.1)?
Deamon93 replied to Sharana's topic in General Discussion
The torpedoes dropped by plane still do minimal damage(compared to the values listed in the stats). Regarding the balance between Essex and Hakuryu wait for Midway. Besides they are testing them because of balance so people won't cry like babies the day the patch is out because of unbalanced ships. -

As far as we know there will be a gift but we don't know the requirements and which ship will be given. After CBT you'll have the pre-order ships(if you bought them), all the tokens you bought and the gift ship. All the rest will get wiped. -
Because ships are considered as "she" pretty much everywhere.

WG UPDATES -23/4/2015: Duca d'Aosta at tier VII I don't see how Duca d'Aosta would be able to fight against Brooklyn and a chance. Regarding how to make the line work i could split Montecuccoli and Duca d'Aosta but that would require a lot of soft stats(and that's beyond my ability)

PREMIUM SHIPS: BATTLESHIPS List of potential candidates Tier Ship II Regina Elena II Regina Margherita IV Dante Alighieri V Giulio Cesare(1943) V BC 1933 VI BC 1928 VII proto Littorio VIII Roma IV: Dante Alighieri Story The Dante Alighieri was the first dreadnought built by Italy. The peculiarity of her name is that she's the only battleship named after a poet(other poets got "only" destroyers from the Oriani-class). She followed the Italian philosophy of speed over protection and, as such, she was lightly protected compared to the Cuniberti's dreadnought. Compared to the older design however Dante Alighieri was much more armed: twelve 305 mm on a broadside compared to the eight of the Cuniberti's and those guns were the newer 305/46 which were overall better than the older 305/40. The secondary armament was a mix of 120 mm and 76 mm. She served during WWI, without seeing much action. She remained in service until being stricken in 1928. Technical data Standard displacement: 19552 tons Full load displacement: 21800 tons Length: 158.4 m(water line), 168.1 m(overall length) Beam: 26.6 m Draught: 8.8 m(normal), 9.75 m(max) Installed power: 32190 hp Maximum speed: 22.8 knots Protection: 250 - 76 mm(belt), 250 mm(main turrets), 100 mm(secondary turrets), 100 mm(battery), 280 mm(CT), 50 mm with 50 mm slopes(deck) Armament: 4x3 305/46, 4x2 120/50, 12x1 120/50, 13x1 76/40 Refits: -1915: -13x1 76/40; +16x1 76/50; +4x1 76/50 AA -1923: -8x1 76/50; +2x1 40/39

PREMIUM SHIPS: CRUISERS List of potential candidates Tier Ship II Marco Polo II Piemonte II Libia II Brindisi IV Taranto IV Ancona IV Cadorna(1943) IV Da Giussano(AA) V Montecuccoli(1943) V Etna VI UP.90(CL) VII Bolzano? VIII Gorizia(1942) NOTE: I've added Bolzano to the list as well due to the fact I'm not 100% positive on using her as upgrade over Trento or as a premium. As such both options will be considered for the time being Tier II: Piemonte RN Piemonte was a protected cruiser built in the UK for Italy. What's unique about her is that she was the first ship ever to be equipped with QF guns: 6x152/40 plus 6x120/40. By the time of her construction, back in 1888, she was also the fastest: she was capable of reaching 22.3 knots by pushing her machinery with an output of 12,600 hp(normally the output is 7.040 hp with a speed of 20.4 knots). After joining the Italian Navy in 1890 she served overseas, mainly in East Africa and China. She fought in the Italo-Turkish war, during which she lead a small Italian formation(herself accompanied by the destroyers RN Artigliere and RN Garibaldino) against seven gunboats and an armed yacht at Kunfuda Bay on the 7/01/1912. The Turks were defeated with their ships either destroyed or beached(and destroyed the next day). After the Italo-Turkish she came home and, after WWI started, served with the Second Fleet. She was part of the naval blockade of the Adriatic and, due to this, she saw little activity during the war. She remained in service after WWI to be stricken from the Navy list in 1920. Technical data Standard displacement: 2443 tons Full load displacement: 2597 tons Lenght: 92,73 m(between perpendiculars), 97,83 m(overall lenght) Beam: 11,62 m Draught: 5,10 m(maximum) Installed power: 12,600(maximum) Maximum speed: 22,3 knots Protection: 76 mm(deck), 114 mm(gun shields), 76 mm(conning tower) Armament: 6x1 152/40, 6x1 120/40 Tier V: Etna Story The Etna-class was a pair of light cruisers originally designed for the Thai Navy(Taksin and Naresuan). The two were requisitioned in 1942 by the Regia Marina and totally redesigned to change them in light cruisers with a heavy focus in AAA. During the Armistice they were 60% completed, captured by Germans and scuttled. Technical data Standard displacement: 5900 tons Full load displacement: 6533 tons Length: 141 m(water line), 153.8 m(overall length) Beam: 14.5 m Draught: 5.95 Installed power: 40000 hp Maximum speed: 28 knots Protection: 60 mm(belt), 35 - 20 mm(deck), 20 mm(turrets), 60 mm(CT) Armament: 3x2 135/45, 10x1 65/64, 10x2 20/65 Tier V: Montecuccoli(see Condottieri-class section) TIER VI: MODIFIED UP.90 Story The UP.90 was originally a pocket battleship, modified to be a light cruiser(i may consider the original UP.90 eventually but with the German counterpart at tier IV of the BB line i prefer not, at least for now). She'll be placed at the same tier of Condottieri V/VI with some advantages(better secondary and AAA) and disadvantages(one less gun in a broadside, less powerful machinery and a lighter displacement which should translate in less HP). Sadly i don't have data on her protection, i'll update ASAP. Technical data Standard displacement: 8000 tons Full load displacement: 9200 tons Length: 176 m(overall length) Beam: 19 m Draught: 5.6 m Installed power: 60.000 hp Maximum speed: 30 knots Protection: //(to be updated) Armament: 3x3 152/55, 6x2 100/47, 8x37/54(most likely 4x2), 16x20/65(most likely 8x2), 2x3 533 mm TT

PREMIUM SHIPS: DESTROYERS List of potential candidates Tier Ship II La Masa II Ardimentoso II Fasana II Audace III Premuda(V-116) III Aquila III Cesare Rossarol IV FR31 IV Turbine(1942) IV/V Sebenico V Folgore(1941) V Tarigo(1941) V FR23 V/VI Premuda(Dubrovnik) VI FR21 VIII Spalato Tier II: Audace Story Originally she was the Japanese destroyer Kawakaze, built in the UK. In 1916 the unit was transferred to Italy(originally renamed Intrepido and then Audace). The differences with the original design lies in the armament which used standard issue for the RM: the 102/35 as primary armament and the 450 mm torpedo tubes. This unit was quite active in WWI, supporting most of the MAS sorties against the Austro-Hungarian fleet. She was the first Italian ship to reach Trieste after the end of WWI and, with the highest authorities on board, she greeted the Austrian war prizes. Between the wars she was re-rated as torpedo boat and modified to radio control the target ship San Marco. When WWII started she was assigned at Pola used at first as training ship and then, after a refit, as AA escort. After the Armistice she was at Venezia and tried to sail southwards but, due problems in the engine, she had to sail back to be captured by the Germans. Renamed TA20 she was used by the Germans until being sunk by the British on 1/11/1944 Technical data Standard displacement: 922 tons Full load displacement: 1170 tons Length: 83.9 m(water line), 87.5 m(overall length) Beam: 8.3 m Draught: 2.5 m(normal load), 2.89 m(full load) Installed power: 22000 hp Maximum speed: 30 knots Armament: 7x1 102/35, 2x1 40/39, 2x1 6.5/80, 2x2 450 mm TT Tier III: Aquila Story Designed by Pattison, Naples, as a new destroyer class for Romania(Mărăşti-class) back in 1913. Due to WWII the four ships of the class were requisitioned by the RM and renamed(Aquila, Falco, Nibbio and Sparviero). The original primary armament was five 120/45 in two double and one single but it was changed in three 152/40 in three singles. Only three were completed before the end of WWI(Aquila, Nibbio and Sparviero) but they saw little action. After WWI they got the originally planned primary armament and then two of them(Nibbio and Sparviero) were finally given to Romania(renamed Mărăşti and Măraşeşti). Aquila and Falco were at the end given to Nationalist Spain and renamed Melilla and Ceuta respectively. Technical data Standard displacement: 1594 tons Full load displacement: 1760 tons Length: 94.3 m(water line), 94.7(overall length) Beam: 9.5 m Draught: 3.6 Installed power: 40000 hp Maximum speed: 34 knots Armament: 2x2 120/45, 1x1 120/45, 2x1 76/40, 2x1 6.5/80, 2x2 450 mm TT NOTE: I considered the original armament which was eventually refitted although the WWI armament can be taken into consideration as well Tier IV: Turbine(1942) Story Turbine was another step forward in the development of the previous designs(Sauro/Sella), although not as extensive as the step forward between Curtatone and Sauro/Sella. What makes Turbine better over the previous designs is improved engines and much better anti aircraft armament. With this class starts also the trade off: during WWII this class, as many others which followed, sacrificed one rack of torpedoes for more anti aircraft guns, usually two 37/54 in single mounts. Eight ships of this class were built: Turbine, Aquilone, Borea, Espero, Euro, Nembo, Ostro and Zefiro. All but two(Turbine and Euro) were lost in 1940: Aquilone was lost while sailing to Tripoli due to a mine on 17/9/1940, Borea was sunk by a bomb while in port at Bengasi that same day, Espero was sunk while escorting a convoy towards Libya on 28/6/1940, Zeffiro was during a British attack on Tobruk on 5/7/1940 Nembo and Ostro were sunk in a similar attack on 19/7/1940. The two surviving ships had different fates after the Armistice: Turbine got captured by the Germans(renamed TA 44) and sunk at Salamis on 15/9/1944 while Euro remained under Italian control and got sunk in the battle of Leros on 1/10/1943. Technical data Standard displacement: 1220 tons Full load displacement: 1670 Length: 91.3 m(water line), 93.2 m(overall length) Beam: 9.2 m Draught: 3 m Installed power: 40.000 hp Maximum speed: 36 knots Armament: 2x2 120/45, 2x1 37/54, 4x2 20/65, 1x2 13.2/76, 1x3 533 mm TT NOTE: I considered the 1942 configuration to make her different from Sella/Sauro. Premuda(ex Dubrovnik): to be updated VIII: Spalato(ex Split) Story This destroyer was originally the Yugoslavian Split, captured in 1941 and totally redesigned by Italy. The destroyer was launched in July 1943 but not completed(Split was finally completed only in 1959, 20 years after being laid down). I placed this ship here for two simple reasons: she is the remake of a foreign design and the redesign itself is complicated to place. Spalato is something in between the pre-WWII Soldati II as originally design and the war time design of Medaglie d'Oro, sort of blending the two together. She was fast as the pre-WWII designs, armed with only three torpedo tubes but with the same artillery armament as the final series of Medaglie d'Oro. Technical data Standard displacement: 2040 tons Full load displacement: 2500 tons Length: 114.8 m(water line), 121 m(overall length) Beam: 12 m Draught: 3.48 m(normal), 3.75 m(full load) Installed power: 55000 hp Maximum speed: 38 knots Armament: 5x1 135/45, 10x1 37/54, 4x2 20/65, 3x1 533 mm TT

Phoenix is the preliminary design of Omaha. Since you can't make prototypes making tons of paper and studies was the only way to go. There should be designs which can sort of compete with Yamato/Montana. Des Moine is clearly a problem and Midway we'll see. That would also be present with Tosa/Kaga eventually. Besides without them would be a problem to fill the gaps since Japan stopped building the new battleships and battlecruisers after the Washington Treaty and, until Yamato, they never built a new BB. I had similar problems too, oh well it's not a problem .
-
Corrected a typo . In any case i agree with you regarding paper stuff: better to have it rather than having clones/holes/questionable placements. Most likely it was a forum issue.
-
There will be paper ships because there are some pesky treaties(ie Washington and London Treaties) who messed up a lot of people. Regarding Russia in particular they got messed up by the Soviet Revolution plus the backstab by Adolf, in both occasions they had a fair number of ships under construction which had to get stopped. The number of British ships in the Russian tree is very limited though(Royal Sovereign and that is it pretty much).

The 8" gun was developed in the early '30s so after Myokou was developed and built. The Myokou class was then refitted with the newer guns just like every other cruiser. And that's with the upgraded guns, kinda sucky yeah. Well i'm sure they'll change the values if she is unbalanced compared to Omaha and her Socialist sister.
-
I don't recall if there was a stream showing the stats of the guns but it's a possibility(maybe not as extreme as 2 rpm though). The original gun was 200 mm/7.9" though, proper 8" guns were mounted after the refit.
-
Odd. I guess it's a typo like the 406/50 Mk 7 for Iowa and Montana(named as 406/45 Mk 7 in the menu).
-
Well Furutaka doesn't seem to be historically accurate regardless. The original design had six 200 mm guns in six singles but ingame apparently has six 203 mm guns in the same mounts. In any case stats may be changed, they are making the common test server just for that(since ST can't possibly produce enough statistical data to evaluate ships in details). After the CV conversion? Most likely in a second CV line since Japan should have enough. Then again we don't know for sure.
-
Furutaka had crappy RoF so i think that will be reflected ingame(although it would be a pain in the butt). I don't recall if they have shown that in the streams.
-
So for torpedo boat you mean "torpediniere", right?
-
You also forgot Rizzo for the torpedo boats . Anyway too early to talk about medals since there aren't any(yet)
-
Yamato also did that by trading two 155 mm triple turrets for more AA. Anyway hopefully there will be a better showcase of the ship eventually.
