New Orleans is much better protected than Pensacola and comparable to Cleveland(being both derived from Brooklyn). Myoko remained with her original stats when she was at tier VIII, WG didn't modify them after the swap. The RoF of the 203/50 should be 4 rpm, where it's not the case(Aoba, Myoko) it was due to the counterpart(Cleveland and, originally, New Orleans). Hopefully WG will "fix" the issue.

Just pointing it out . Anyway personally i wouldn't mind having the speed related also to the displacement(the heavier the ship the slower you go compared to the trial speed) but we'll see. In any case they would be the fastest DD around. Navigatori wasn't supposed to reach those speeds btw while Capitani had the capability of reaching them(with 110.000 hp in a 5.000 t ship isn't that complicated ) EDIT: yeah Navigatori reach high speeds but was really light and was prior the refit which fixed some issues regarding sea worthiness(increasing the displacement).

I don't see PT boats working, mainly because they need numbers to compensate the lack of punch. In Battlestations they sort of worked because you were able to buy a lot of them and in high numbers they work reasonably well but in a 1 on 1 trade with a larger ship there's no contest. Le Terrible(the DD in question) achieve 45 knots on trials with the weight reduced to the minimum. In combat operations considering the added weight their speed was more reasonable(in the high 30s). Szent Istvan disagrees on that. Granted the conditions are difficult to replicate(the Adriatic is ideal for small ships like those) but they were able to hunt and kill big ships.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

We haven't asked anything about them for ages. They may have been moved but we don't know. -
WGNA has said multiple times 0.3.1 would come soontm but it took a while to be implemented. Take what they say as a grain of salt since who has the last word on this regard is the Lesta Team(the devs).

I really like the idea! I will gladly take part and, if required, help you out with the organization and such.

Yeah but that was a relatively common RoF for guns of that time. In any case we'll see how the experiment with Mikasa goes. EDIT: added information on the Ansaldo cruiser for the Motherland, at least the details i've found after reading carefully Stalin's Ocean going fleet.
-
Perhaps but the only ship which doesn't have more than one ship competing for the spot is Tegetthoff. Anyway since Mikasa was added i think it's safe to assume a ship like Regina Elena can show up. They would be interesting to play with(and surely the bane of slow cruisers existence but that was the whole point )
-
Tegetthoff would compete for the same spot with Dante Alighieri and i give priority to indigenous designs(since otherwise the poor Dante Alighieri would get stranded). Novara is already considered(Helgoland/Brindisi) although i would give priority to either Marco Polo or Piemonte for the spot Tatra has a lot of ships which compete for the low tier spots. Personally i don't see how she should get the spot of ships like Audace which had an interesting WWI career(although short since she was commissioned late in the war).
-
Not that i'm aware of at least. Still their position wasn't great for DP mounts and even if they are their effectiveness should be limited.
-
I still have to find hard evidence of the fact that DP mounts existed. Apparently it was planned to have DP mounts on Etna and on Cavour(after Taranto), other than that i don't really know. I hope to find more info but it will be a nightmare most likely. Still considering the fact that Japanese 5" guns on destroyers are considered DP i think it's doable(the mounts on Capitani Romani weren't far worse).

pre-dreadnoughts on the Horizon IJN mikasa
Deamon93 replied to hood_2015's topic in General Discussion
Most likely she won't be placed in tier III+ matches because otherwise she would get roflstomped hard. Her armor is weaker but the biggest weakness is her armament, made of four of these guns. Even assuming they fire the same shells Mikasa would have a fourth of Kawachi firepower which would make balancing her with the higher tier BBs impossible. In any case would be interesting to see pre-dreads as premiums, especially the "strangest" ones like(as example) Regina Elena-class which had just two main guns but was decently fast(Napoli, one ship of the class, reached over 22 knots). We'll see since this is just an experiment and who knows how it will go. -

Pre-dreads can work as tier II premiums with preferential MM, to avoid them being roflstomped by tier III dreads. -

The first part of the post was referred to the P-class, not the Italian one. In any case as tier V premium i would prefer this one which overall is better(better armed, faster, slightly inferior belt protection but much better deck protection and so on). -

Here are the stats. There are also the proper UP.90 and UP.102 but they are complicated to balance since, like Deutschland, they have strong armament but they are made of paper and have little to no AA(although this can be fixed). -

The armor protection values are comparable to Graf Spee. Still it isn't exactly the best in terms of protection compared to ships placed at that tier. In theory there could be a mini line with them but since the placement of such designs is yet to be properly defined i called off any attempt to place them. -

Faster yeah but better armored? She was comparable to Graf Spee which is hardly decently armored compared to ships like Baltimore&co. Still i'm not sure about them as a whole(this is also true for the pocket battleships Italy developed for the export market which i haven't considered at all, at least for now). GK10 is armed just like L20 but she is placed at tier X(as far as i know). Where's the logic on that? That would be an option although who knows. -
Critical hits do exist but they are rare but they can happen. In theory even a single bomb dropped by a plane can one-shot a battleship but that doesn't happen(at least i've never seen it happening)

Well Tegetthoff in the German tree makes less sense than having her in the Italian or French tree which got them at the end of WWI(Tegetthoff to Italy and Prinz Eugen to France). Granted they never used them in combat(Tegetthoff was used to shoot a film i beliee while Prinz Eugen was used as target) but at least they got actually got them. Regarding the "minor nations" tree either it shows up or they can get "sacked" and the ships placed on the trees of the "majors" accordingly as premiums. That could potentially work although there will be a lot of potential premium designs(even too many in my opinion). -
Ah, didn't know that. I hope the issue will get solved They should have added one more anchor and one more rudder because they ruined everything!
-
Well i should be able to go there during these holidays but we'll see. Which problems?
-
From what i know they were developed around the same time of Caracciolo so most likely between 1910 and the start of WWI. I may try to find some info regarding them but it will be quite a challenge and i don't know if the archive at La Spezia has something about them.
-
As far as i know they were supposed to carry the same guns of Caracciolo but i'm not sure. If that's the case they would have been quite strong for their time(especially G' with only superfiring turrets).
-
Sweden may show up in the "minors" tree(ie all the nations which can't make up a tree on their own) but not anytime soon.
-
English in here . Anyway the G design hadn't the fore turrets in superfiring position while G' did.
