Yes and no. Italy had at its disposal modern BBs, which the British hadn't in the Med, heavy cruisers, which the British hadn't, and a sizeable sub fleet. The Brits on the other hand had superior DDs and they had carrier support which Italy hadn't. The major problems were the following: -Lack of CVs: there were a bunch of studies but nothing came out of it until there was no time left. -Lack of radar: a working prototype was ready by 1938 i believe but Supermarina(the Navy High Command) decided against it -Lack of overall strategy: think how devastating would have been catching the British with the pants down with an attack of the X MAS the day of the declaration of war. Moreover by the day of the declaration of war four out of six BBs of the Italian Navy weren't available(only RN Conte di Cavour and RN Giulio Cesare were available at the time). -Lack of coordination between Navy and Airforce. The stripes present in the bow of Italian ships were there because the RA(Regia Aeronautico, the Air Force), attacked Italian ships. The list could go on and on but those are the main ones.

The Bismarck is..................Disappointing as a Tier VIII Battleship

I don't have any issues with BBs, then again that's just my opinion. -

Even historical designs of the period can shadow her. She just got hyped to the extreme. At the moment you can't buy any of them. We know Tirpitz will be premium so she'll be in the premium shop, hopefully before the launch of the tree itself. -
CV planes still attacking AFTER CV is KILLED
Deamon93 replied to klemi007's topic in General Discussion
Congratz then . Personally i don't play CVs but when a CV player is good and kills me i tend to congratulate him. Besides is quite easy to see if a CV player is good or not: if it's not the planes will be autoaimed otherwise they are manually aimed since it's much more effective(and you lose the fire and forget)- 41 replies

CV planes still attacking AFTER CV is KILLED

Use Mk I eyeball and you won't get torped. Auto aimed TBs are bumb and takes little effort to avoid them, even if you're playing with BBs.- 41 replies

CV planes still attacking AFTER CV is KILLED
Deamon93 replied to klemi007's topic in General Discussion
the TBs if you click a target they are quite dumb and the DBs don't do that much damage. Besides it takes some time to send planes out between rearming and sending all of them out. During that time CVs are sitting ducks.- 41 replies

Yeah but some details have bad quality due to low graphics that's what i meant ^^ -

If the CV player sends the planes out before being sunk is perfectly fine. I mean that actually happened historically in a few occasions.- 41 replies

The Bismarck is..................Disappointing as a Tier VIII Battleship

I assume so because it seems that the graphic setting is low. I may be wrong however ^^ -
The Bismarck is..................Disappointing as a Tier VIII Battleship
Deamon93 replied to _Sterben_EU's topic in Battleships
Considering Bismarck wasn't designed for long range firing that number isn't that revelant. It's plausible that it's just the graphic settings. I haven't noticed anything wrong with her -

WG implemented all the German ships as premiums for testing reasons. Out of the three only Tirpitz is known to be a premium. WG posted something on that regard not too long ago. -
Opinion regarding the released German cruiser line

I'm not surprised if such names change, hence why i hope WG will release some pieces of info on them. More or less like what they did on the current lines in the past. -

I'm pretty sure the ships listed aren't them. Anyway Deutschland would be weird in a BB line. She has nothing to do with the other BBs -

Deutschland may show up in the cruiser line eventually, although she's complicated to place. Scharnhorst on the other hand can stay in the BB line. Granted the 11" guns won't be that punchy but she would have a high RoF and good penetration. -

That's odd. I wonder what caused it since i also have Yorck at VII and Hipper at VIII. -
Opinion regarding the released German cruiser line
Deamon93 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Hence why i said consistently. I defeated Clevelands with Furutaka in some occasions, doesn't mean Furutaka is better. Besides we know Cleveland will get moved and perhaps she'll get moved before the German arrival. -

HE rules? Then i'm a hacker since i use AP with great success in cruiser vs cruiser or battleship vs cruiser(the two classes i'm currently grinding). I know since Cleveland loses 40% and 25% of her firepower(in stock and upgraded armament respectively) just to make her somewhat fit at tier VI because otherwise she would roflstomp pretty much everything but the highest tiers(which she shouldn't meet in her current tier). Shell velocity isn't everything, otherwise Omaha would consistently defeat Cleveland but that doesn't happen. He meant this Emden -

Deamon93 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
With excessive i meant i think she would be UP. Compared to Omaha she's much weaker. The shells are lighter(45 kg against 59 kg), the number of guns is inferior while the RoF is a bit higher for the German gun but not enough to compensate(108 rpm vs 120 rpm of Cleveland, considering the historical RoF and not the nerfed ones we have ingame). Morever Cleveland has the armor to tank the shells while Nurnberg doesn't. Maths prove you wrong. -

Deutschland as BB makes no sense. She was just an early treaty cruiser with less guns but with larger caliber. As tier III BB they should pick Nassau, makes more sense(being the first dread they developed). Wasn't Kolberg improved with 6x15 cm guns during WWI? I may be wrong though, don't know exactly. Having the 1916 Koenigsberg at tier V seems a bit excessive in my mind but perhaps she would do. Then again it's unclear which one is exactly so it's open for guesses like yours. Could be the M-class the Yorck although i hardly see that superior to Cleveland(assuming she stays where she is of course). We know Cleveland will get moved, we don't know when and where exactly(some people in here, included myself, hope for tier VIII for multiple reasons). Indeed. The historical ships you carried such names should get a line just for them(i would really like a BC line for Germany but that would exclude Bismarck most likely, making a lot of people sad). Pensacola was the first treaty cruiser developed by the US. Even during construction she wasn't highly considered since soon after Northampton was developed. -
Opinion regarding the released German cruiser line
Deamon93 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Nurnberg was the iteration of Leipzig with few differences. Regarding Hindenburg i don't think she's the one since Derfflinger would make no sense as tier X cruiser. All from WG site, relax. Most likely Nurnberg has less guns with comparable RoF and lighter shell. In terms of damage potential she is worse and that can't be compensated by the higher muzzle velocity. Then again it's just an opinion and i can get proven(especially if WG moves Cleveland before the arrival of this line). I can understand the lack of Deutschland, she's complicated to place. Emden on the other hand is a bit better than the WWI cruisers but when she was built she was already obsolete. Agreed! Hopefully WG will make things clearer. Good to know the tier IV is a real ship, i'll edit it up right away! You're right we don't have stats but just look at the ships. They have comparable RoF but Cleveland has three more guns, heavier shells, heavier secondary armament, better AA, marginally better speed and much better protection. It would either require another nerf on Cleveland and/or buff Nurnberg. My hope is that Cleveland gets moved before this line becomes available but we'll see(i stated my opinion on Cleveland long ago) -

The scarcity of proper and coordinated news in the forum
Deamon93 replied to SharxX8's topic in General Discussion
the main problems are: 1)A good chunck of WGEU is at Gamescom so they are busy 2)The news have to be translated in all supported languages which takes some time I agree the process has to be streamlined a bit(perhaps by releasing immediately the English version of the news and then translate) but with a lot of WG people busy with Gamescom is understandable the fact that it takes some time to relay the information
