As far as i recall the base of the design was N3 and then heavily modified to fit with the standards. I'm not a RN specialist so i don't take my words for granted. Now back to the topic: i finished the CVs so i just miss the tier X BB, info regarding the projects prior Littorio and then the tree is pretty much set and done. I will just need to find planes for the CVs but i sincerely consider them as low priority(i don't think they'll be one of the first lines to get implemented).

Refitting Conte di Cavour and Giulio Cesare made sense, it was a way to have something ready in a short amount of time while the Littorios were under development/construction. The reconstruction of Caio Duilio and Andrea Doria on the other hand competed with Littorio and Vittorio Veneto for funds and resources Nelsons were a modified pre-treaty design pretty much. Then again they were the first BBs which entered service after the treaty.

Well the big exporters of designs were UK and Italy, too bad both won't show up anytime soon(and Italy is beaten by Russia which was one of her customers ironically enough). Speaking of which i wonder if Tashkent will retain her paint which earned her nickname or if she'll be red like the rest(i hope the former).

I saw already that comparison and to me it isn't done that well as you stated. Averof was able to win battles all by herself which was quite impressive. I would love to see Pisa&co ingame but we'll see if that happens and how WG would treat them if that happens.

So? Pisa was an armored cruisers and remained such. I don't see people calling her as battlecruiser since she's not one. Besides she is more or less as fast as Regina Elena which was in a sense a battlecruiser(she was designed to outgun cruisers and outrun battleships).

Technically they are armored cruisers and not battlecruisers. Regarding her being premium or not i haven't considered her or other similar cases(Venticinco de Mayo, Tre Kronor etc) as premiums primarily because there may be in the future a "minor nations" tree. Besides there should be enough of premium cruisers in my opinion Regarding the loss of Pola was mostly due to gigantic mistakes: 1)The operation was planned to be called of in case of lack of the element of surprise(that didn't happen) 2)The lack of Pola in the formation went un-noticed for at least 30 minutes 3)Fiume, Zara and their escorts were sent to tow her(decision made after a while her absence was noticed) The loss of the I Div plus the destroyers acting as escort would have been easily avoided if the original plan was followed but politics changed the plans.

I don't think there will be the CL variant of Hipper, primarily because Mogami has both guns available. I think she would end up like Mogami with 6 inch guns as stock and 8 inch as upgrade

Lion had multiple iterations of its design, the latest can easily face Montana. Vanguar can be a tier VIII premium, being a mix of old(the guns) and new(pretty much all the rest) Graf Spee(and all the comparable designs) have comparable problems but not quite. Alaska would be more forgiving being faster, with much better protection and with good armament compared to the cruisers of her time. Graf Spee(and all similar designs) tended to be slower, with comparable protection(or worse) and with only the armament being their strong point. They are difficult to balance because they are slower early Treaty cruiser with 11" guns while Alaska&co are 30.000+ tons cruisers which causes other issues in terms of balance. Both are oddities though which had also issues IRL in terms of roles(at least Alaska had).

Well Cleveland got nerfed multiple times so kind of difficult still being OP. She is still strong though

Omaha doesn't have a 12 gun salvo but only a 8 gun salvo(4 in turrets and 4 in casemates). The amount you calculated is over by a third or so(more than a third actually since your rpm is over by 0.4). VI or VII should be fine, depending on how WG would balance them.

Cleveland should fire AP against cruisers while firing HE against BBs and DDs. HE spam against cruisers is less efficient.

Too bad Cleveland will be moved(WG confirmed it although we don't know where exactly). Besides Cleveland is quite nerfed to "stay" where she is now. Without the nerfs Cleveland would roflstomp both of them. Anyway i have serious doubts regarding Deutschland and comparable designs since they are neither cruiser nor a battleship. I wouldn't mind a test with the contemporary designs since she doesn't need to be implemented in the tree to be tested(just like Hakuryu was tested a while back). Then again who knows when and how she will be implemented.

Omaha doesn't have the same gun. The guns on Omaha had a much higher muzzle velocity so they have a flatter trajectory.

Deutschland was designed around the same time of Myoko and Pensacola, with similar protection and similar displacement. She differs from the usual Treaty cruiser by having larger guns and by being slower. Having her between WWI battleships and battlecruisers doesn't make much sense. Granted i don't say she would be super strong as tier VII cruiser but with all considered is the best place for her. She won't be strong but she was an odd ship and WG can't save her from her oddity.

Apparently all nations will have all the classes so yeah.

If classified as cruiser Deutschland should end up at tier VII(ish) since she's slow(28 knots for a cruiser is bad), with a similar level of protection of the first Treaty cruisers but with 6x11" guns to compensate these weaknesses. I can't see her at a higher tier

I can agree to this, there isn't the dire need for new subforums, however you could make them a bit before the end of OBT. I don't know how long does it take to make a section in the forums but i'm sure people would appreciate this gesture from you. Moreover would make communications between players of such small communities easier. This is of course just my opinion and you're free to do whatever you see fit.

Deutschland isn't a BB so why on earth does she have to be classified as such? Anyway her design with plus all the projects based on her are complicated to balance and who knows how WG will solve the problem. He meant the older Scharnhorst which was an armored cruiser. This is like Alaska: neither a cruiser nor a BB, getting stuck in between the two. Agreed. Personally i don't know how they would balance L 20 alpha but will see.

Perhaps but i can't see how WG would implement China since for most of the period were busy fighting each other and the Japanese. Difficult to build a navy in such conditions. It would be like the Russian tree but much worse since at least the Motherland ended its civil war some decades sooner.

Too bad that it's not realistic since kamikazes were from land bases. Besides it started as an act of desperation which is not necessary in this game.

Bismarck represents the class while Tirpitz represents herself. Having two ships named Bismarck would be confusing at best. Besides Bismarck had terribad AA and it wouldn't be nice for a tier VIII premium of that size to be a huge TB magnet

I bought a book about the Italian carriers("Le portaerei italiane" by Michele Cosentino) and redesigned the CV line with the information i got from the book in question. Sadly in most cases the information isn't complete since most of it was lost. I will update their post accordingly over time with the information i have available while the tree itself is updated.
