The Sagittario II and the G.91(which eventually killed the Aerfer) are techically superior to the FH2 which is pretty much a modified FH Phantom to make it more viable as a plane. Personally I think placing jets was a mistake because I knew weird things would happen but we'll see how WG does with the other nations(UK excluded perhaps).

Many NA players disagree on that but I guess this falls in the "neighbour's garden is always greener" category. -

Exactly. Personally I don't play ranked(after trying them last season) but the idea can be used as well for contests in my opinion. Of course in contests like the one I suggested you won't lose progress but that depends on what the contest itself is about. Marketing is regional based, St.Petersburg(where the devs are) has nothing to do with it. You ruined their cover! They'll find you and kill you with a lot of sushi South East Asia plus the Aussies and the Kiwis. Not worthy enough to be either NA or RU essentially -

Marketing is localized as far as I'm aware. Besides the lovely people on NA tend to whine a lot so WGNA gives them stuff to shut their mouths(just like parents do with kids). Personally I disagree on gifting free stuff just because, it gives the impression that if you whine enough you'll get what you want. Anyway I'm sure WGEU will come up with something, hopefully avoiding gifting stuff with no apparent reason. A compromise would be to grant rewards scalable with results. As example(the first idea i came up with to explain the concept): a contest lasting a week about damage dealt. If you do x amount of damage at the end you get a certain reward(gold and/or premium days and/or flags and/or premium ships ). The higher the final result the better the prize. This way everybody would get something but what they get depends on what they do and not on if they showed up or not. -
I have a question: could we have a section in which we can talk about plausible new lines/trees? Perhaps placed together with sections regarding the existing nations.
-
It attracted attention apparently . Anyway it's hard to say without knowing what the Russian playerbase thinks about it
-
This ship is above Zara in the tree as potential high tier "must have" ship. It would incentivate the grind in my opinion although the lasr say has to come from WG
-
Well i made a (almost) complete tree for Italy so more "biased" than me is impossible . If you want potentially really good paper ships here's one: https://stefsap.wordpress.com/2015/11/15/the-1940s-super-washington-ansaldo-cruisers-for-spain-1200-plans-i/ That is a Zara look-alike with better AA and 37 knots of maximum speed. There are also two other variants with 3x3 8" guns and 4x3 6" guns respectively. Good enough for you? New ships will come, it just takes time to develop them. Still the devs are pumping out new lines relatively regularly so we can hope Thank you!
-
Not all of them though and not to the same degree of some French cruisers which had only a very thin box protection around vital parts and that was it. Still the cruiser line is possibly the most interesting, especially if WG puts the Ansaldo projects as top tiers. Only time will tell though.
-
Italian ships will come eventually, when is unknown. As far as the order is concerned depends on a variety of factors, potential revenue included(i think). Then again we'll see

The Aerfer was developed in the '50s so it may be off the time limit. The only plausible option i can think of is the Re.2008 which, apparently, was a legit study made by Longhi(and was the base for the 2007). I know very little so it's still a difficult choice and would just solve pne of the blank spots.
-
They may adapt the SM 93 as torpedo bomber like they did with the Re.2001, then again they could adapt fighters to do that following the same logic(and considering what those ships were supposed to do is plausible). There was a study for a twin Re.2005(a là 109Z) but nothing came out of it. Besides the SM 92 fate is the reason why i'm sceptical about them since the MC 105 was the worst out of the three of the "serie V". In any case we'll see, at the moment is too early to say
-
Possibly but first all the speeds ingame have to be checked and that would take some time(since they are in nautical miles per hour). It may work, then again beating the Re.2006 would be a challenge since it was developed to go up to 750 km/h.
-
The problem of the tier X fighter is that it doesn't exist a proper jet fighter, unless WG wants to use the Re.2007 which is a hoax but at least made by Longhi(Reggiane lead engineer). The Ca.183bis is more or less as fast as the Re.2006 and using heavy fighters may or may not prove effective since the SM 92 was shot down by a MC 205 which mistakenly considered it as a foe. Regarding torpedo bombers using the SM 79 and SM 84 is out of the question(too big) so the best hope is to get something plausible. In any case they shouldn't be the main focus of the Italian CVs(in my opinion at least considering what they were supposed to do).
-
I know this project. It may be the tier X dive bomber since the Japanese have a heavy fighter on that spot. It may also be good enough against jets and fill the tier X fighter gap that way but it could be more complicated. Regarding the torpedo bombers there are more holes to plug which don't help. Then again they weren't the primary focus(the role was fulfilled by the SM 79 and nobody boothered trying to replace it)
-
Only Sparviero and Aquila were under construction, the rest is paper. There's a post dedicated to them, you can find it in the index
-
There will be eventually

I don't know: the Re.2005 can carry a 1000 kg bomb already and it's a fighter so after dropping the bomb it would be useful(keeping the fighter-bomber flexibility). Regarding being competitive or not that depends on the payload. For the US bombers is easy to check since the payload is written in the name. There are only two bombs and both are fairly light(250 lbs and 500 lbs, around 113 and 226 kg respectively). In that regard the fighter-bombers handle the job well enough although it will be hard to round up exactly(there are 100 kg, 160 kg and and 250 kg bombs so it would be harder to balance them exactly). For the Japanese i have to check EDIT: i checked the Japanese bomb(there's only one) and i'm a bit confused. The Japanese bomb weights 550 lbs overall and deals less damage than the 250 lbs bomb used by the USN line. That's a bit confusing but never mind.
-
I worked on the plausible planes for the CVs tier by tier. There are still blank spots which would require some additional work although some are pretty much impossible to fill in(ie the tier X ones). Of course feel free to comment and, if you have ideas for the blank sposts, feel free to suggest names.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017
Deamon93 replied to mr3awsome's topic in General Discussion
A stronger AA isn't that relevant compared to protection: AA comes into play only if there are planes while the vertical protection comes into play every time a shell hits the belt. I would give more important to the latter rather than the former -

Considering WG started with one line for Germany and Russia I wouldn't exclude the possibility of a single line tree for all the nations which weren't as prolific in terms of ships/projects compared to the ones which should eventually come(ie the naval powers acknowledged in Washington plus Germany and Russia). Then again it's too early to say since there are only two trees with every class and the two newest ones are still far from being able to field every class -

Well up to tier IV included in the cruiser line are pretty much unplayable due to their terrible speed and lack of firepower. Regarding the rest i prefer to search some info on them before commenting -
WG will complete the Russian and German tree before adding new nations so they should come in the following months in theory.

Yep she was supposed to have 200 mm of belt armor instead of "only" 150. I don't know all the other changes and i wasn't able to find this original design. Anyway what i meant is one of these: https://stefsap.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/the-1935-maricominav-nine-studies-for-a-26-500-t-battleship/, most likely the Littorio look-alike with the 320/44. She may be undergunned perhaps at that tier but she's quite similar to Littorio in many other aspects and she can technically be upgunned if required.

That's the first plan which has the same primary armament layout of Zara. Anyway i'm in contact with him by quite some time and i use him as one of the sources.
