Greetings! Today I got my Arkansas and I wanted to give it a shot at a random battle and I noticed there are some graphical glitches of witch i have attached pictures below. The glitch itself on the ship is missing textures or smth, which appear as purple squares which have a lot of reflections and at some angles they appear to glow. Before hitting the BATTLE button, I noticed that in the port there was also a glitch which was something like on the land where there were houses, there was a purple square zone below the houses where the ground textures are supposed to be. I don't have a screenshot of that because I thought it would go away as I exit the battle, but if I manage to que up in the client I will provide more screenshots. The only thing I did prior to entering battle was to play around with the graphics settings, specifically the texture filtering I changed it from trilinear to antistrophic x2 and the texture quality from medium to high, but I think I reversed those settings prior to entering, I will check on that to confirm when I enter the game client a bit later.

Hello! I see you have made improvements to the tactical map which are always welcome, but I noticed that when I go into the tactical map mode, It gets squeezed on it's sides which makes it a bit inconvenient to look at. I guess the tweaks you've made were made so the experience on 16:9 ratio is better, but for some of us that still use 4:3 ratio monitors it looks weird. I hope it's nothing too complicated to fix. I've attached a screenshot.

So let me just start by saying this patch will be amazing, and I love it so far. I love the new UI improvements as well as other minor things which all add up to make the game experience more enjoyable. Now the first thing I looked for when I started the game and was very happy to see was added is the notifications icon, which I think me and plenty other people have been waiting for! When I started a game I also noticed you've made changes to the sniper mode leading marker - the bottom line and the two numbers for the 5 and 10 line, which actually seem to help out a lot when leading your targets: After playing some games another thing I noticed was that you have added ammo and consumable descriptions which can be viewed by mouse hovering and I personally have been waiting for that to be added, so cheers for that! I'm mentioning these things, because I didn't see them mentioned in the 0.4.0 article and was happy to see them. So far the update to the game seems pretty good, I am also happy to say that I seem to get a bit smoother performance on my PC than on the live client. The new japanese cruiser Atago seems pretty fun and balanced, I think it would make a wonderful money maker and I might consider getting it on the live servers. The new update however makes me raise some questions. First of all I would like to know why were the hull upgrades renamed from " <ship name> <year> " to " <ship name> A/B/C" as seen here: My second question is by how much will the earning potentials on standard ships will be reduced at OBT/launch? I see that there have been increases in the XP requirements for all tiers as well as on modules, and I personally think that if they get cut like halt the grinding would be insane!

So apparently the games NFS World, Battlefield Play4Free and Battlefield Heroes are getting shut down in a few months due to "loss of popularity" and a drop in active players. There will be no refunds and basically whatever the players spend money on will be gone, I saw a lot of complaints about that when I checked their forums a moment ago. What are your thoughts about those news guys? Have you played any of those games?

It's funny how EA is still trying to get money out of the community by still making discounts and bundles for SpeedBoost/funds etc instead of letting the players use them for free. Considering the games are in their final weeks, it would have been the right thing to do, but ehh, it's EA after all...

There are other topics in which this has clearly been answered but oh well: Up to now there are NO PLANS for a wipe between OBT and release. Hello! I want to ask does the game have a dedicated button for notifications like in WoT and in WoWp in the bottom right corner, or is it something that is bugged only for me? I'm asking because sometimes I want to check them and I don't seem to be able to and also I don't see how can I join divisions as there is no button for me to press "accept". Am I missing something? Here's a screenshot:

Well I have played only the Aoba so far from the IJN - yes I've had 2-3 amazing games in it, even one where I was alone against a Pensacola and a Cleveland and managed to kill them both, but that was due to them not being that good players. When I play my Cleveland I tend to have way more fun and to have a bigger impact on the game. I've also watched a decent amount of videos and compared stats of higher tiers, also my opinion is further strengthened by playing those spaceship battles with the tier X clones, where I tried both cruisers so I think I got a pretty decent feel for the top tiers. At tiers 6 and 7 you can have some good games in the japanese ones as the difference isn't so massive, but at top tier the gap is too big between the two nations.

Well it's hard for me to make a comparison between the two nations really. I mean US cruisers have excellent guns with good rate of fire, good armor and very good AA. The Japanese cruisers from my understanding have kept their torpedo tubes and rely on them to do some serious damage, but at the moment the US ones completely outclass their japanese counterparts. They need to buff them otherwise I don't see how they will be competitive. The main problem with them is that the jap cruisers don't shine with anything - they have low hit points, worse AA, slower rate of fire, they are quite big targets ( I was surprised when I sailed past an Kongo that my Aoba is almost as big as him) and their torpedoes aren't that special to be honest. I think they should give them a range and/or speed buff, because right now getting close enough so you can do a torp on a ship with the current armor, hit points and main gun characteristics is not such a good idea as you can either loose half of your health, or you could die pretty quick

The places in the tech tree for the Cleveland and the Pensacola don't make any sense to me and they should be switched. Yes I see the WG logic that the Pensacola has the 203mm guns and should be higher tier, but it's not the size that matters - the DPM on the Cleveland as well as the number of guns is just insane and yes it demolishes everything. Also from reading the ship info ingame I see that the Pensacola was built under the Washington naval treaty limits, while the Cleveland was a more modern ship. Another such example I think of with switched tiers is the Fuso and the Nagato, although there the difference in gun power is not that major as with those cruisers. I think since we are in a testing phase, WG should switch the places of the Pensacola and the Cleveland for one patch so we can see how it will work out. If it doesn't they can always revert these changes.

I can see below your name it's saying "Beta tester", so you should have access. After the purchase, you should just go on the WoWs website and click the big button that says "download the game". Everything you have purchased is added to your account and you don't need to redeem it somewhere. You must simply log in the game after downloading it

I tried all 3 of them a couple of years ago, played more NFS World than the other two. I did have some good progress on that game as well as some cool looking customized cars, but the funny thing is I'm not even mad that they are shutting down. I think EA messed them up big time right from the start with their marketing strategy. It was pure "pay 2 win" - you pay some cash and you get the absolute best content and you could dominate over the other ones which weren't paying, i think those games shutting down was a just a matter of time, but still I wish EA could have done something to save them at least. Good thing that Wargaming has a better marketing strategy ( at least in my opinion ) as paying only helps you grind faster and getting additional slots, converting some credits and some other stuff which don't make such a big impact on gameplay. Let's hope such a thing doesn't happen with any of it's titles any time soon!

Yeah, probably it would make more sense. Also another forum member above made a valid point that the Bismark is more suitable for a premium due to it's configuration in it's early years of the war, while the Tirpitz was a fully upgraded Bismark. -

I was really hoping for either Bismark or Tirpitz being a premium ship and I could definitely buy one at some point. I think it's more likely that the Tirpitz will be the premium one and I would prefer it due to it's beautiful cammo! I hope it doesn't suck statwise though.. -

They will introduce some quick voice commands, it's just a matter of time, but I think watching out for torpedoes etc. is something that is up to the player to get used to. When I started playing this game i found myself often running into my teammates, a swarm of enemy ships, a spread of torpedoes enemy or friendly, or towards an island. Even when I started playing ships with torpedoes a couple of times i torped my own teammates because I didn't check if there were any ships heading in the direction I'm about to torp. I just started every so often clicking the right mouse button and looking around me - where am I, where are the nearest teammates and where are they heading, where I'm heading - is there something in front of me, and checking out the minimap often and I must say I don't have a problem with anything because most of the times I can anticipate what will happen. Now it feels for me "natural" to look at the map and to look around me. I think a philosophy the playerbase should adopt is the one when you are driving a car in real life - you should always be aware about what is happening around you - cars around you, pedestrians, your speed, etc. I remember my driving teacher used to tell me "Always be the one keeping safe the others on the road. Don't count on them to see you first or reacting first if something were to happen."

I just hope we either get to keep the spaceships till the end of the CBT, or at least if they remove them we get to keep our slots, so I can get myself some moar ships!

Thanks McLeod, it gave me some idea on what to expect so I would probably get some ships from the pre-order. I'm still wondering weather to get both the russian and japanese ones or just one of them. BTW if someone reading the topic has some screenshots of battle results with the Atlanta & Sims or that tier 8 japanese cruiser, please post them here so I can have an idea on the earnings at higher tier ships.

Yeah, the bundle isn't that bad. Me personally - I would prefer only gold instead of gold + premium like the US offer (ideally I would prefer only the ship ). I'm curious about the price on the 3 in 1 bundle though, I hope it's cheaper than the one on the US servers
